You should show the DC boxer if you have any lying around. I got a pair right when DC launched. I have always wanted to see them again. Dope shoe and dope show
My Jaime Thomas Tribute shoes from 2002 have a solid sole, aside from where I wore a hole in them. But the uppers are gnarly, it's stiff and cracks. Just sad, I drove from Pittsburgh to Philly to buy them at B3.
what was the airwalks with the inner sock wetsuit material around 2000, dark blue and orange. i thought they were bucky shoes but i can find a pic anywhere. best shoe ever.
Thanks forbthe tips. Ive been eye balling some early 2000s templetons. Id be pissed if it drop too much money on a show amd it tears up cause im gonna get it. Id be killin it in the vintage skate gear if my my didnt give my shit away. I grew up skating since 97. Had soooo much shit
Anthony Wandowicz yea man. If you find some and are curious just send me a pic on insta and I will help you determine if they are usable or just a shelf item
Great video, are the vintage Osiris shoes made in the 2000 era wearable? Such as the Osiris Helta and D3 that you have in your collection? Thanks again
Fuck! Those Stevie Williams are soooo dope! I had the red white and grey colorway. Then I bought the two dc releases after that I think 'the reason' most def miss these kinds of sh8 shoes
@@GoldenEraCollector I've seen that! Just the grey and yellow ones ya? That's pretty cool. I know all my old sk8 shoes are at my mother's house.. hopefully lol I've only been able to find my chad muska and Adrian Lopez circas!
DO NOT BUY VINTAGE VANS like Rowley XLTS,,Dustin Dollin & other rare pro models Like Cardiels or whatever. They all seperate heel from shoe..The glue doesn't hold. I have 3 pairs or Rowley XLT's & 2 classic Dollins and all 5 seperated.. Ironic the Bucky Laseks held up but they are slightly newer.. I went to the shoe repair place in town and dude said no glue will hold em ESP for skating.. **Man,,The XLT's we're so light and padded at same time..
ok first things first if the foams crumbling its pu if it still gives and functions its eiether a EVA or a phylon sole if u know the shoe look it up and find out in the ads for said shoe at the time dont buy 10+ yr old shoes with that pu midsole unless they made them again and u are going to wind up sole swapping ive wasted money on grind shoes that ive thought werent going to fall apart heelys with plates soap shoes its fucking happening in all our favorite shoes of the past
I remember when Gadzooks sold that jersey and the DC Legacies in 1997.... nobody in my town knew what they were so they went on the sale rack super fast. Damn, I miss those shows
About 7 years ago or so I found the Howard's that are directly behind your head cheap online. Wore them and loved them, then one day went to take them out of my closet and they basically crumbled in my hands. The soles were gone. Still loved having them for the time I did
Its not the best method, but if you want to soften hardened rubber I lightly go over any smooth parts with griptape and you can make any shoes you mowed your lawn in (with that green film) completely skatable again haha
Wish I would've seen this vid before I made a recent purchase. I bought some rare Templeton 2's since they were in my size and they aged like fuckin' milk. The rubber sole is hard as a rock and they're just so busted. Like if they bend, they break. Definitely a shoe to reconsider buying if anyone out there is looking to buy them ever. They do not age well.
there are heat treatments and chemicals many people use these days to restore hardened rubber soles lol. of course if it's cracking or rockhard then not possible, but people use these methods a lot within the community for vintage aj1s and other old basketball shoes
