I would also add: a travel mug (you will save lots of money if you take your own coffee to uni), a cup for pens, luggage weighing scale, hairdryer, laundry bag, ugg boots (so you can use them as slippers in the residence), pillows for your chair if it's uncomfy.. and when it comes to clothes, don't take with you anything you don't wear very often :)
This was SO helpful! I'm moving from California to London for school in less than a month and I probably wouldn't have gotten half the things you mentioned if I hadn't seen this! I'd love to see videos on what clothes to take and freshers week as I'm sure they'd be just as useful as this video is!
I'd love to see the clothes video! I lugged 2 suitcases worth of clothes with me when I moved to uni and then discovered that the city I moved to is about 10°C colder than my hometown so I just had to go out and buy new clothes anyway! I had to get rid of heaps of t-shirts and shorts to make space for coats and jeans and it was quite a waste of luggage.
With regards to the medicine - make sure you read what medicines are in the cold and flu products because they normally contain paracetamol, so don't take any more paracetamol!
I personally went on Facebook and found everyone on my course and also my flat about 8 months prior, we all because super good friends and so so close before uni started and I found that helped a lot with feeling comfortable and settling in!
I was rewatching your Christmas Vlogs and was wondering if you will do them again this Christmas? :) I would also love to see a kind of rainy lookbook. I just recently moved to England and my wardrobe is just not ready for the rain haha
If you're gonna get one knife, get a 6 or 7 inch chef knife and a knife sharpener. They're the most versatile knife, keep it sharp, blunt knives are less safe.
Loved this video! I'm off to uni next month too. I'd love a freshers week video! I'm super excited for it. Also- maybe a first impressions video? And I'd love a clothes video / fashion at uni video too! I really want to revamp my style at uni but be casual at the same time, so that'd be so useful! Thanks so much ! x
Please do a freshers video. I'm really worried because I don't really drink or go out and I'm worried that will restrict me making friends and stuff xx
People at university are incredibly understanding, so please don't feel as though you have to drink to enjoy yourself! If you don't tend to go out, then you can always host a movie night, or a monopoly night (went down a treat with my flatmates, since 2 of them didn't drink/go out)! Also, a great way to make friends at uni is to join societies! I know that uni can seem incredibly daunting, but everyone is in the same boat, and once you've moved in, you'll feel a lot more relaxed! Wish you all the very best x
If you don't want to have to explain to people why you're not drinking, just make sure you always have a drink in your hand of something non alcoholic so it's harder for people for foist drinks on you :)
Beth Edwards if you're in any freshers groups, make a post! I did and I've found three or four people I've been chatting to who don't drink a lot or at all, and we've planned a couple of nights not drinking anyway :)
This video was super helpful, thanks! I'd love it if you could do some makeup/outfit inspiration or tutorials for freshers week (or going out in general I guess)!
Thanks so much for making this video, it has been so useful. I would defo appreciate some kind of fresher's week video and a clothing one cause I have no idea how much clothing to take considering I will not have much storage space.
that moment when you are going to the uni this September, but will live with parents. I fell myself so confident and comfortable after watching this video. Thank god I will be at home during studying😄
Such a nice video idea! I'm starting my second year in october, but there were still some things that I think would be so useful - like the chopping board ☺️ uhm and I use my scissors and my measuring pot almost everytime I cook, haha. Also some things that I think are easily forgotten at the beginning are bin liners and toilet paper 😁
I somehow have manage to accumulate almost 14 tea towels haha Watched this and realised my cutlery is all stainless steal so going to add a little bit of washi tape!
This was great! I agree with everything, definitely do patterned cutlery and I used my measuring jug for gravy or hot chocolate a lot... I think that says a lot😂
Hi Rosie, I'm a fellow redhead with pinky toned skin. I'm getting married soon and wondered if ud reccomened a tan to compliment my colouring. I find a lot of brands just accentuate my redness🙈 thanks in advance!
roisin machiney I absolutely love the bondi sands tan lotion! I'm also redhead but I have quite a yellow undertone so I'm not sure how it would look on you x
roisin machiney are you after a fake tan or just a bronzer? If you're looking for a fake tan then St Tropez mouse is my fave. If you're wanting just a bronzer then I'd recommend Benefit hoola powder bronzer xx
Don't know if you've said before but what uni do you go to? I'm currently looking at unís and am really interested to know your opinions, thank you for a really useful video! x
