I have told him like 2-3 times that i have a crush on him, asked him if he's single, had sent a collage in which there was my photo and his so as to look like a couple. But all this was gradual. He actually works at another place but even when he was home which is closer to my home, didn't bother to meet, even inform that he was here. I got to know from another person. But he does message by himself at times to ask how you are doing. He sent me a song recording which i had requested him to. So at times he is good but at times he ignores. Discussing how to sift out the good and the bad and what red flags to look out for during the early stages, in order to identify the bad guys and those with false intentions. For example their texting habits and types of messages that they would normally send! It would be interesting to see if most women are experiencing similar patterns...... 😊

I'm seeing a guy thats 54 and I will be turning 50 in a few weeks. This whole dating thing is quite different. We both text, but call each other everyday and talk for 2 or 3 hours. I'm with you on the whole phone conversation thing. That's how I've always preferred all my communciations. I'm not much of a texter (perhaps it's my big man fingers that shouldn't be on a lady's hands, or that talk-to-text makes me appear illiterate, lol), but all the best relationships I've forged have been based on getting to know each other after hours upon hours of deep conversation. When I couldn't see him, we'd talk by phone for hours. I'm in my early 40's, so I'm old enough to appreciate the way it used to be done but not too old to fully embrace and utilize technology. I have found that sweet spot, and connecting with someone else who is of the same mindset isn't always easy.

I’m 24 and was seeing a guy who is 35 thinking men a decade older than me are more into commitment (I’m not going t9 get married but I want a long term boyfriend which is what young guys my age don’t practice). Oh how wrong I was! He’s basically a teenager in a body of a man old enough to be the dad of a teenager 😂😂😂 Seeing that dating gets even shittier with time makes me sad 😔

Hey Ryan! :) so Ik this is nothing to do related to the video, but i need your advice/help. I have had feelings for a guy for like forever but the thing is, today i woke up feeling nothing. And THAT scares me. I mean he is not even interested in me or anything. Like he WAS but not anymore....it's confusing ik. Some guys think that texting equals effort ! 😁 Emailing effort😁 God forbid they pick up the phone & ask you for a specific date to take you to dinner ! Covid19 means skip the restaurant go straight to the car park . I now realize why I refused to date him exclusively.. He was asking what worked for me then tried to squeeze me checking his schedule in not prioritizing getting a date with me first . Nothing makes you feel like a seconds more than that. I was hoping I got to know him but I don't think he is worth it at this point.
Many men (and women) will *never* put in the effort. Sort those people out FAST! Keep sorting until you get the guy that gets it, that does put in the work, because it's totally worth spending the time to sort until you find that core few that will deliver the goods 😎
Im deeply loving someone. we are best friends but I literally started loving him and I told him about that. He didnt say he loves me back but he says everytime "all is good ". Hey Ryan, I reconnected with a old friend from high school, we texted for 3 days constantly, flirting. Things were going good. Then he told me his mother was really sick and he needed to focus on family. I texted here and there to let him know I was thinking of him and his family. He told me he thought about starting something with me but then decided against it. Now he's asked for space and asked me to wait for him to reach out. So do I forget about him and move on?

I’ve been informed that I don’t appear very interested when dating, or I come across as playing hard to get or playing games; as I don’t ever initiate texts. I simply go with the guy’s flow. If I don’t hear from him for two/ three days or so; then I message when I do hear from him (and I reply when I have time). But I feel that a lot of guys don’t like this. Apparently it makes me come across as uninterested and distant. So what am I supposed to do? 🤷🏽♀️😄 Also how long is too long to be texting with a guy before you both meet; considering that you’re both in different cities?
Curious Funke, how are you meeting these guys? I feel if you two are in different cities, it's possible the guy might just feel it's too hard to pull off an LDR (not sure how far apart you are) and may not be mentally invested in pursuing you because of that. The right guys will work, especially in the beginning. After a few weeks, I feel that's when things begin to balance out and after he's taken you out and has invested in you that way, he'll see more initiation from you with texts and such 😉 And I wouldn't text longer than a couple weeks before actually meeting; otherwise it's just spinning wheels and wasting time 👍🏽
Ryan Patrick..... Thank you for the advise. I met this particular guy that I’m referring to via a dating app, we live about two and half hours away from each other. Very intelligent guy; not my usual type, however seems really sweet, kind and respectful; those are traits that I find attractive. Nonetheless I don’t feel that he’s as forthcoming as I would expect during the early stages; e.g not showing as much interest as I would expect. Therefore I’m already starting to loose interest. I’m sure that this is going to start to show. We have only been chatting for about a week. So I’ll leave the ball in his court and follow his lead, I guess. It’s so hard to know what people’s true intentions are sometimes......🤷🏽♀️
Dana Petrova ...... Honestly I feel exactly the same! I’ve said this before, however there is a real problem with our current society. Nobody cares about each other very much anymore. Dating is starting to feel like a conquest. Whereas it should just be fun. Too many guys out there have some serious emotional and mental health issues and they would really benefit from therapy. I say this as I’ve dated a couple of guys who actually hate women and blame women for all that is wrong in their life. It’s insane! Needless to say that they never worked out for me. Also, honestly online dating is good way to gain a complex! Better to get ourselves out there and meet people whilst socialising......☺️

I text them clever insults and thinly veiled rejection and I can't get them to leave me the hell alone. I don't even have an actual phone number to text. And I am on hide on messenger so I can completely ignore any requests and any attempts at communication with me.

A "situationship" never feels gratifying. When you feel like you're in one, drop your investment into the guy by at least half, just lean way back and keep your options open 😉

Some certainly want that, yes. But others definitely want to connect with women their own age. I know plenty of guys in their 40s and 50s like this, because they want to be able to relate to them easier 😉
it's okay! embrace being independent! I've not dated in 8 years and I'm 33. I want a relationship too, but I'm not gonna spend time finding ways to get someone to conversate with me, if it's not a natural thing it's just not worth it. I've just learned to appreciate that I don't have a dependency of relationships to get me through life. if you can't be happy on your own it won't get any better when you're in a relationship. Dating is not the same as it was when I was younger . I don't want something casual either I want something real and even if it doesn't happen, I'm okay to be alone, we can set the new standard, it's okay not to be in a relationship.

How long have you two been dating, Penny? Sounds like he's going about your relationship cautiously, as anyone should. Dating once a week in the beginning is right on the money. You both should be dating other people until you both decide to become exclusive with one another. Just lean back, let him initiate with you and see how things play out over the next month or two. But there's nothing that sticks out as being a red flag at all, based on what you've mentioned here 👍🏽

This is basically what I have been doing with the guy I have been talking with since May. We have met up three times, the third this past weekend, and each time he has opened up more. I was also talking with a few other guys too, now only one.
I don't think you should have to manipulate a conversation to make someone respond. that's a setup for a bad outcome. if he's interested you'll know. I've scared some guys off by over texting or being too "available". a lady doesn't need to beg for attention. when the time is right he'll find you. until then work on yourself, your self esteem and know that it will pay off to be patient.

Don't date married guys.... They have 4 books " The Rules" The New Rules.... the dos and dont's for the digital generation, The rules for online dating, The RulesII and Not your mothers rules....
