This is typically what we get them anywhere from 1-3 times a month, depending on how much work they do that month. Obviously, more work = more food so they have enough energy! If you have any questions, please leave us a comment and we would love to help! Be sure to like, comment and subscribe for more!!

I really appreciate you sharing this video, it's very helpful. I am starting my dog back up on raw feeding. I gave him a chicken quarter this evening. He threw it back up. Should I be concerned? He's not acting sick, he even started to eat up his vomit.

just 2 questions: 1. like janice said, the parasite bacteria thing, cuz regular freezer only kills certain parasites, dont kill bacteria at all, so how does that work? cuz i sure as hell aint gonna cook my bones 2. i noticed a lot of dogs like necks, but i been told thats where they inject all the steroids to make the, say chickens, grow bigger on the chicken farm, so isnt that bad?

When feeding raw meats you should NOT feed meat that has a sodium content over 100 mgs per 4 oz serving. If it contains sodium over 100 mgs per 4 oz serving the meat is "enhanced" and should not be fed. Enhanced is either soaked or injected with sodium or other additives which are unhealthy for our dogs. Read labels on all meat before purchasing, many are enhanced with sodium, broth etc.

@elizabethunger7644
@elizabethunger7644 7 лет назад
Kelsi Bellew Wolves/dogs were designed to hunt, kill, and eat their prey raw. No wolf in the wild is going to make a fire and cook it's food before eating it. That's why dogs were made with a much stronger immune system than humans and have the ability to fight off bacteria that can be found on raw meat. Although humans would get sick with salmonella poisoning from raw meat, dogs would not because of their high acid content and ability to fight off bacteria. Dogs were eating raw food long before we showed up, your dog won't get sick I promise you. Just make sure when you switch from dry to raw you make it a slow transition to avoid diarrhea. Give one meal of kibble, a chicken leg in the afternoon, and then an evening meal of kibble and work your way up from there.
@elizabethunger7644
@elizabethunger7644 7 лет назад
And as far as them choking, dogs know how to chew bones from birth and their bodies are equipped to digest bones as well. Just watch your dog with its bones the first week or two until you feel comfortable.

Irvin Acevedo 80:10:10 ratio so 80% meat 10% bones and 10% bones so say you feed your dog 400g a day you'd feed 200g chicken/beef 100g of bones and 100g of organ's like heart and liver you can also buy complete mince meat for puppies to start off with which has everything added you just defrost and feed

Its not to bad if you live in America foods seem way cheaper and jobs pay well and all that cost you $30 lol thats roughly £20 thats UK pound, now for £20 in UK i could get atleast 3 items in that pile. Now trying to do this in the UK is batshit crazy because our food is pricey and most jobs pay shit. In the UK you need a well paid job or comfortable with money. If i bought all that it would of cost me £80-100 which is roughly $120-$150.

My dog absolutely loves raw meat but I don't know much about portion size. Could you give me a 2 day example of what i should feed a 60 lbs 9 month old bully pit? He is an apartment dog who gets to walk about 1/2-1 mile a day and it seems to be enough for his energy. I want to make sure he grows up to meet his potential weight. ( his dad is a solid 120 lbs and lean and healthy)

I have heard on numerous occasions to feed a combination of BARF/organ meat that is equal out to approximately 1 to 2% of your breed's ideal adult weight for the sex. I have a male GSD who weighs anywhere from 95 - 99 lbs and I offer him about two to three pounds per day. He doesn't always eat it, depending on his exercise for the week. I walk him 2 or more miles five days a week at approximately 2.5 to 3.0 miles per hour.

How often should i feed my dog organs like heart ? in every meal or once a day ?
@NyiDroBloodlines
@NyiDroBloodlines 7 лет назад
+Khaled Al-Saleh once a day is good enough for organs! Or you can do every meal just put less in each meal. You have to check the stats based on your dogs weight. But I believe organs should make up 15% of their diet so you can either do one meal with more organs in there or more meals with less organs in each meal.

Although hearts are organs it is actually counted as muscle meat so instead you might want to feed ur dog liver and kidney for organs

Is their any concern over parasites or bacteria in the raw meat- ? I've given mine hamburger raw- he loves it but also craves variety- picky eater!! I have gone to homemade food and am leaning too toward raw- no or very low carb's - he had a tumor that made me change things up and used coconut oil on the tumor plus tumeric supplement, probiotic, fish oil. He's improved in 2 weeks tumor flattened out- staying on this type of diet- looking for ideas- love youtubers!!!!❤💕

rawfed.com/myths/feedraw.html Not sure if you ever found an answer, but here is a great article. Frozen meat should preferably be 0DEG F if frozen for a lengthy period of time. Any refrigerated raw meat MUST be stored below 40deg F. Temperature danger zone is 40-140. never feed meat in between these. some dogs really like their meat frozen, others don't care if it's frozen or fresh. I would try frozen first, if not you can do it fresh! Either way, it'll be fine! Good luck feeding!

Pretty good video with decent information but there is no way in the world that necks can be counted as an organ, they are mostly counted as bone in a dogs diet. A dogs diet has to be 80% muscle meat (heart is included as a muscle meat, just dont feed too much) 10% bone, 5% has to be liver and 5% other secreting organs such as kidney, spleen, etc.

Hearts are considered a muscle meat. Organ meat is secreting organs, not heart. Liver, spleen, thymus, kidney. Also necks are clearly a muscle meat, best thing to feed for the bone and muscle content, full of connective tissue like the beef shank, you’re mistaken in thinking it’s not good quality meat because of where it is on the animal, it’s just tougher, same grade of quality... dogs don’t care on the toughness of the meat like humans seem to. Also avoid freezing if you could, freezing kills bacteria and digestive enzymes that is half the goodness of raw food. Might as well cook the food if cooking meat didn’t create 36 carcinogenous chemicals from chemical reactions within the meat..

NyiDro Bloodlines CHECK SODIUM Amount!! I have been feeding raw for almost 2 yrs now and did not even realize how much sodium I was feeding until today... I'm very worried I may be inducing sodium toxicity... I always feed organic dark kidney beans and organic kale with every meal. Along with an organic egg and digestive enzymes. I never feed organs other than what come with the meal. You shouldn't be adding extra organs like you are. An entire chicken only has 1 heart and 2 big chunks of liver. That's the the exact amount you need per chicken... Anyway I'm not sure what to Donnie that I have found the sodium content, I'm not sure how I can fix this problem. I also feed every other day, very important in my opinion, gives there bodies a break and fasting is very healthy.
@NyiDroBloodlines
@NyiDroBloodlines 7 лет назад
+LiveLaughLove yea I get what you're saying about organs but our chickens dont come with the organs. They're just the quarter so we have to add organs otherwise they wouldn't get any. If you're feeding raw chicken the extra sodium is in the skin. We take off the skin to eliminate that problem!

Thanks for your comment and we appreciate the advice. However, we believe that dogs are naturally designed to eat a raw diet so we give them raw meat every day. It has been working for us so far and our dogs do much better with raw than cooked food. The kibble we get them is freeze dried so it never actually gets cooked. Raw is just our preference :)

Well, let me rephrase that lol. We try to give them raw meat and bones at least once a day but it doesn't always work out like that. Try to stay away from "ground beef". Dogs don't eat processed ground beef. You have the right idea with the steaks (let them rip apart the muscle). The processed stuff also has a higher chance of contamination which is something all raw feeders are trying to stay away from. Try venison, pork, oxtail as a means of getting "red" meats as well. Watch the store bought stuff (chicken) as many of them add sodium and broth as part of their processing to increase volume (weight) of their product before they sell it. The only way to avoid that garbage is to buy organic, trusted farm raised chickens (much more expensive). Try looking for a Raw Food Co-Op in your area. They buy from trusted farmers and butchers in the area (in quantity) and you avoid all the junk being added like they do in the store. Hate to tell you, but the first item you held up (won't mention the name), has sodium added...just research the company...
@NyiDroBloodlines
@NyiDroBloodlines 7 лет назад
+Dana Parish We fully understand everything you're saying and have done research on it all. But to be 100000% honest this is what we can afford. We figured it's better than giving them 100% only kibble or some horrible canned foods. We can't afford to feed our dogs farm raised meats, hell, we can't even afford to feed US that. If we could, we would give them the best of everything that we could find... Some people just don't have the means and we're feeding them the best that we can with what we have.
