What We DIDN'T Share With You in 2022 + Our 2023 Goals

Thanks for being sincere bro. You made me shed tears this night. I used to work with NHS mental health and suicide prevention team and I am familiar with the data. In England, 74% of suicides are men, almost three times higher than the female rates. Most of the suicides are as a result of depression. A lot of black people in the western countries are depressed and this leads to suicide ideation. Black people used to be very resilient to mental health but this is changing rapidly. I would advise if you can start doing a live show occassionaly for people to join and talk about their experiences as one of the therapies for mental health or depression is speaking out. Thanks April for supporting Mr. Akanni, you are a virtuous woman. I would advise all husbands and wives to support themselves, more importantly in western countries.

Akanni, I don't expect you to think too much. You've got a very good wife who is and willing to stay by you and see you through whatever challenges you might be facing. And with God by your side, the sky is your spring board. Getting the right spouse is the most important thing in life. Because your spouse will either make or mar you. Thank God you already got a good wife. So, the rest is easy. All you need now is to work, pray and wait for for right time for the blessings to come. I also went through the same thing in life. Now, I'm so grateful to God. After graduation, I waited for about 6yrs before getting a job. I even had to go back to school to study a different course believing I would be able to expand my employment opportunities but I eventually got a job in my 1st discipline. I was thinking seriously to the extent of committing suicide because of frustration of not having a job and I was growing old. My frustration was a fool at 40 is a fool forever. Because i was approaching 40years old without an achievement. I got a job after waiting for almost 6years and I lost it about 2yrars later. However I met my wife when I didn't have a job but then I decided I didn't want to work for anybody again rather, be self employed. About 6 months to that time I got a contract and from there my life turned around and in 2 years we got married. I married in March, in April i moved to my rented apartment for the 1st time in my life and in May I clocked 40 years old, the same year in December I had my 1st born. What if I had committed suicide. Would I be able to achieve all that. So pray, trust in God, work and wait for the blessings to come at the right time. The blessings will surely come. However, you have your family already in your rented apartment before 40 years, so be happy and be thankful to God. Mine was worse. I've been there before. It's well in Jesus name.

Akanni brought tears to my eyes. All is well. I was there so I understand you perfectly well. I'm in my mid 50's, at some point I couldn't even say this is what I really like to do even with a Law background but with prayer, focusing and the right mindset, all shall be well. Let's all continue to trust God for all the benefits of 2023. As per birthday, I can't even remember when I had one, even the so called 50th people hugely celebrate, I did nothing. So if you don't want to have a birthday, it's ok. So many important things to do instead of just wasting money. We will all be fine. The Bible says, Be anxious for nothing! And, that's my watchword for the year. God help us all. I am way older but I tell you, I am learning a lot from you guys. Love you guys!!

Firstly I would like to thank you both especially my broda Akanni for been so vulnerable with us on this channel....trust me you're sharing what so many find difficult to share. I'm attracted to your channel bcos you are both REAL. Hmmmm my journey in the uk quite look similar to Akanni, I will also be 42yrs in April but to me age is just a number! I've also been there before thinking and thinking and falling into depression. People don't know what one is going tru until you say it to people that cares to listen. I thank God for blessing me with my hubby too. After God,he's been my best friend, my confidant and my bestie. I don't have much friend bcos i don't want to be around pple that act so insensitive becos they achieve it earlier, but pple 4got our race is different. It got to a point that I made up my life to be THANKFUL for what I have,if not for anything FOR LIFE, nitori enitobawalaye loun she ongbogbo( while we Still alive, we will achieve and fulfill destiny). Oh my gosh! Akanni a lot of what you said in this episode resonates with me so much you have no idea! First with the journey to find one’s purpose, that has been the question I’ve been trying to answer for a number of years now and I still haven’t figured it out. For context, I’m a 45yr old female, with professional qualifications and experience in finance. I have a good job but I hate it and I have for years now but like you said I continued in order to make ends meet. To the outside world I’ll be considered successful but inside me I don’t know who I am or what I’m great at. I feel like I’m just coasting through life 🤦🏾‍♀️. I’m now considering seeking professional help to figure out my passion. It even sounds absurd because you see much younger people already knowing this about themselves. Even my 9yr old knows what she’s great at. So please don’t feel like you’re alone in this and I pray that God directs us all into our unique paths and that we’ll find fulfilment in these paths. 🤲🏾

This January I'll be 45 and people don't believe me cos I looks like am in my early 30's I took my health serious too cos in 2020 I was overweight but now all Glory to God, though it's was not easy but you'll get there. I don't buy designers...I go to Naija once a year to supervise my project, see my parents and so on. I do make Naija clothes in Naija...with 200 or 300 pounds, you can buy 3 or 4 traditional clothes for the family for the whole year....for special occassions...New Year, Easter, Birthday photoshoot for you ...done and repeat them for events.
