WHY WE ARE LEAVING EUROPE!
In this week's video we share with you why we decided to leave Europe after 2 years of travelling and trying to find the place to call home. And why we are moving to Australia.

We are big believers that life is too short not to follow your dreams. So in early 2020 we decided to buy and convert a van in Europe, to live in it full time and travel the world. The build was especially challenging for us since we had never worked with tools before or had any prior experience building things 🛠️
After 2 years living in it full time, we decided it is time for a change and we sold our van and got ready to move continents.
We Are Monasi, an international couple passionate about plant based food, music and specialty coffee.

I'm glad to see that you have chosen Melbourne as your new home, the city that I was born in, live in and love. It's got a bit of a European vibe and is truly Aussie with plenty of 'elbow' room, has a laid-back lifestyle, is friendly and multi-cultural. My parents emigrated from the UK in the early 1950s and I was born here. I'm sooo thankful that they chose Australia as their new home.

Really interesting hearing your reflections of travel and experiences thus-far. Looking forward to this next chapter. We travelled to Sydney & Tasmania/Maria Island a few years ago... was good/interesting (I worried about the recluse spider the entire time in Sydney... LOL). The birds in Australia are incredible. I was disappointed in the lack of conservation of nature in Australia (& the killing of wildlife: kangaroos, etc. Much like animal ag kills all wildlife in America); and have started to see that this is the same on the entire planet. Speaking of human numbers, we are now at 8 billion: s c a r y. Recently read Yuval Harari's book: Sapiens; brilliant book. Little tid-bit RE: Australia; when the now-aborigines arrived 50k years ago, within 3-5k years, the flora and fauna was 90% destroyed, this is the reason there are so many eucalyptus trees in Australia; they used to be the minority of flora, but after all the fires made by our species, the landscape was changed forever. Same happened in New Zealand, and surrouding islands; same happened in America: 73% of fauna/large mammals destroyed by first wave of H. Sapiens (our species also destroyed/made extinct, at least 5 other sapiens species. Sobering, but interesting information; highly recommend the book: Sapiens, by Yuval Harari.) Good luck with the move! hugs!

thanks a lot for sharing this with us. we always enjoy your thoughtful comments ☺️ yes, it’s definitely a shame what humans have done with nature in the past centuries and absolutely disheartening. But we really try to focus on the positive and on those tying to bring a better change to this world. And hopefully inspiring others to do their little part too. we’re also very interested in learning more about the aboriginal culture in Australia and hopefully can get closer to the original people in our travels. And you’re totally right the birds are delightful!! can’t wait to wake up to the sound of them. take care!
