Our 2013 Ford Escape had a 6F35 transmission replacement and we wanted to share what we paid and why- there are a number of options and you don't need to just go with the first price of the dealer. Shop around. Local shops may be able to offer you better options based on your budget, timeline, and risk tendencies. Hope this is helpful!

2015 2.5 liter. Purchased with 30k miles on the odometer and now I’m at 150k miles. No mechanical issues at all besides one new wheel bearing at 140k miles. 🤞 this thing keeps running. It will be my last Ford.

I did allot of towing with my 2016 2.0, so I changed the trans fluid every 40,000 miles. At a 157,000 miles I traded it in for a 2023 Escape with the 2.0. This 2023 is full of technology which I am still figuring out. I am reading on the Escape 2023+ Facebook group that Ford is not going to build anymore Escapes after 2024, so maybe getting a lease turn in, in 2025-2026 would be a great deal.

I have a 2012 ford escape with 161000 miles I drain the LV every 20 thousand miles. Because just draining the LV does not change the entire fluid capacity, you are draining only part of the fluid, never get a flush at a shop because when they flush they have other fluid in the flushing line that you don’t want in your vehicle, i am a one owner vehicle. Right now I’m replacing all of the sensors, valves and other modules. I had one go out so I decided to change them all because the parts are super cheap. I try to use only motorcraft parts. I’m hoping to get 250 thousand miles out of the beast.

We had an early build 2013 SEL with the 2.0 engine. We put 90,000 trouble free miles on it and decided after 11 years of Northern IL winters, still looking and driving perfectly, we would sell it and get a new used car. A gold certified used Lincoln Nautilus was our choice, with a little more room and comfort than what we were used to.

I did the exact same thing you did 3 or 4 years ago on a 2016 Escape 1.6 turbo. I think the shop got it thru Auto Zone. So far so good but the warranty has now expired. Guess I should have sold it before the warranty ran out. Heck, even the shop that did the job has gone out of business. It's been a good ride, let's hope it continues until I can finish getting my 63 Monterey completed as my daily driver.

My 2019 S model had the torque converter go out at a little over 30k. It was replaced under powertrain warranty. I was fixing to change the fluid, didn't get the chance! Will be doing it regularly now. My wife loves this vehicle.

I went with the rebuild my transmission option last July, so far it's been good I also own a 2013 1.6L

I own a 2017 Ford Escape. Aside from the peeling paint it’s not bad. However, if the transmission goes, I’m done. Currently I’m at 58,000 miles and hopefully won’t have issues for awhile. But overall I’m not happy with Ford.

My local shop rebuilds in house.
@davidtaylor4053
Did you change fluid treguently.
@mph5896
I rebuilt mine last year. About $1200 in parts, and a good 20 hours of my time. Torque converter let go and spread clutch material throughout the transmission. I had to completely wash it all out and go through each component.

I have a 2014 escape titanium. I bought the car and it had 99k on it when I bought it. At 120k the transmission went. I found a shop to have it towed to. They said we can install a remanufactured transmission. It was 4800 bucks. The car currently has 150k and shifts like it's brand new. I'm hoping I can get 200k out of it before it quits and no longer runs.

does new filter and new fuild help
@tervalas
Just over 4 grand for a rebuilt on a 2014. This after spending about 6 grand to have a used engine put in it and a new turbo. And yes, if I had known the transmission would die right after I did the engine, I would have just junked the car.
@SwiishPapii
I Have A 2013 with about 187,000 miles, just starting to feel a type of hesitation/hiccup or maybe a slip not sure so seeing this gives a good idea on what to do if my transmission is going out!
@DC90X
Has anyone had a transmission flush done? I have a 13 Titanium like 160k, no noticeable problems but the partial fluid change feels inadequate. If I remember on my 07 focus I was able to disconnect a hose to an inter-cooler and get all the trans fluid to run through till it was bright red.
@davidbostic4821
just bought a 2014 ford escape s i use manual shift seems to change gears twice when i shift up to 3rd gear has 137000 miles on it
