i swear it would be so much fun if we get this backup. instead we get her dying first if we don't strategically spend our time keeping her alive during the fight :) I was so disappointed when she kepy missing her hits and got whooped so easily.
@@user-wv7zk6um5iI play honour mode and she was never close to death wdym? Wtf this fight was one of the easiest ever your basically already lvl 12 have 3 attacks per round all you have to do is destroy the elements first
@@arcticz6457 the fight is never a problem for me in any level mode, it is the fact that every playthrough of mine aylin misses most of her hits and takes critical hits a lot which makes half my effort go in aiding her while killing the rest and keeping my own party alive, that has always been my experience.
@@user-wv7zk6um5i I didn't bother keeping her alive. After dying so much, I killed Ketheric my damn self. (I only played with just two people in my party so don't come for me.)
Betraying Dame Allyn is bad enough, but then letting Isobelle go into the Tower and get butchered alone by Lorroican -right in front of her love - is just horrificly bad Karma.😱.
It's DnD, there's more than just generic Good & Evil. My Lawful Evil Githyanki Monk Tav, who killed Shadowheart because she stole from his people, gave the Nightsong to Balthazar, fought beside her when confronting Ketheric, and sold her off when she was no longer useful.
@@Emrick723 you can counter-spell a cantrip. As long as it is a Spell, with at least verbal and/or somatic components it can be the target of counter-spell. If you removed the verbal and somatic components, then you could not.
@@travischaikin1626 oh ok thank you so much my experience with dnd comes mainly from bg3 since i’ve never done a campaign so there’s a lot i don’t know so ty so much
Fun fact. If you're a sorcerer in the 5.0 DnD system , you can use the subtle spell metamagic- and then your spells cannot be easily counterspelled ,because it does not appear to other Casters that you are casting a spell 😃
Aylin: 'There is NOTHING I cannot do.' ...except escape from the soulcage you were stuck in, when Tav and co found you in the shadowfell. How long were you trapped in that again? A century? Little more? And you only got out because they helped you. I wouldn't be too worried by her vow of revenge. Tav will probably be long dead by the time she finally breaks free and if they have any descendants for her to hunt down and kill, well, that's a problem for future Tav's lineage, lol.
What’s the difference between this prison and the one Balthazar made for Ketheric? Seems like all it’ll take is Rolan touching Aylin to free her again only to get trapped by some other wizard who knows how to do the ritual when she’s dumb enough to fall for their traps.
I think the conditions of soul cages can be set by it's caster, cuz in dialogue she mentions Balthazar made that "touching her in friendship" condition to mock her, because it's so easy, yet in the shadowfell she would never find allies cause only shar's devoted ever come there
Is it true, then? That Vimpires cannot have children? What sources is this information from? I've been looking for this question answered for a while. For story purposes.
Damn, poor Aylin...she had to watch Isobel die and then put up with Lorroakan's smug ass forever. Thank you for making this, I wanted to know what would happen but I could never do it myself. Lol
My head canon is that the shadow curse prevents her from summoning. Otherwise she would have just summoned them to get her out of the soul cage even before Tav shows up.
While this is super fuckin evil, it is super epic to see her summon fuckin angels to help her. And her theme song is awesome. But also, god damn the pain in her voice when Isobel dies, that's so sad.
Kind of unrelated, but I just realized, is the “always trust a dishonest person” inspiration a Pirates of the Caribbean reference? Jack says the exact same thing. Then again I suppose it’s not an uncommon saying, it just made me think of it lol
lol. That was my thought when I fought against Larroakan first time after I tried defeat Aylin before :). Both attempts failed because I had low level for both fights.
Syphoning her immortality is incredibly stupid when you think about it. Given an infinite amount of time, anything that can happen WILL happen, so if Lorroakan and Aylin are truly immortal they have infinite time in their hands, and one day she will break free, and kill him, just like Ketheric, it might take a few centuries, a few millenia or billions of years, but it will happen. It baffles me how none of them actually thought this through, I guess hubris really makes you blind. Edit: I'll have to add this, because some people won't read my other replies and i don't want to keep saying the same things over and over again. Yes, he will live longer, but she could choose to just torture him for basically eternity instead of just smiting him. It's up to you if you think the gamble is worth it.
idk about a few centuries, but a few *millennia or billions of years* ??? for sure the gamble has already paid off for Lorroakan by then lol. He might even come to his senses and end it before Aylin breaks free at that point.
@@Kusabiii Well, she made a vow, so even if she changes her mind (which i doubt she would, i mean she tried to smite Thorm even when he surrendered) she doesn't really have a choice. Besides, she is the daughter of a goddess, she can just torture him until the brink of death and then heal the wounds and keep at it for as long as she wants, he is just a dude after all. In the best case scenario, the gamble might be worth it, he gets to live a few thousands of years and then a quick death by being smited, but it all depends on how cruel and vengeful she will be after such long imprisonment. One thing is for certain though, when she gets free, he is dead.
@@deannethearsonist8781 I don't think you read my comment, I was implying Lorroakan would end his own life before Aylin breaks free and gets a chance to torture him. I never said Aylin would change her mind. No amount of time would make her forgive him lol
If you're playing Dark Urge, there's numerous chances to make your 'evil playthrough' pay off ..such as with acquiring the Slayer form from Bhaal as his Chosen.
Yeah but they should first buff her when you side with her. It's kinda annoying her getting downed all the time or knocked the f out and not doing anything in fights. And then in the cut scene she acts like she's the one who took down every enemy 😂.
Man, its kind of sad that this is kind of blocked for me in my evil playthrough, i mean, the only way i could archieve this is by either ignoring shadowheart completly or let her become "good" by betraying shar, both things that dont do well for an evil party.
An evil playthrough where your character is atheist so the goal is to piss on as many of DnD's pantheon as possible, including Shar. I call this the "Gods are Cringe" playthrough.
I did it during my evil playthrough. Of course, it was a combination of my character being manipulative and wanting more control over his companions and also "lol, screw that shitty goddess, with time I shall kill her, too!"
@@DISTurbedwaffle918 That's what i'm doing now i started as cleric of lathander multiclass necro by cannon he hates necromancers and undead i also use his mace i'm shitty to as many gods as i can making abominations wherever i can.

When you visit Lorroakan or his shop for the first time you can then go to camp and tell her there is another person who wants to trap her. She decides to fight him and when you go to the tower again she will be there with you.
You should have been able to subjugate her for your own immortality, but I understand that'd be too broken. My first character was quite evil, not cartoonishly so, but he would definitely not pass up a ritual to be nigh-unkillable that inferior wizards like Lorroakan are able to pull off. I considered giving Aylin to Lorroakan, but I realized that his compensation won't be worth as much as killing him + emptying out his wizard's tower, and I also couldn't bare the thought of that pompous asshole getting immortality and not me
Did anyone game also glitch after they gave up dame??? I had to redo the choice and kill loarrokan cause my entire camp was hostile from then on. Even mizzora
The allies are so useless in the end battle anyway, they just run to the area where those vines grab and kill them. Only heal and aoe ones have any use. She is very good cause you can control her, so I'd def save her.
While I understand why Dame Aylin was the way she was (the whole death of Isobel and being trapped and used), I didn't think she was a good paladin, if she was supposed to be one. She seemed bloodthirsty, and it really felt like she was in it for the smiting a lot more than for the justice. I wonder if a potential DLC would have explored and expanded upon her. Of course, we'll never know since there won't be any DLC.
