What brands would you recommend for systems that consumers can buy without going through a dealer? I want to buy a system and have a plumber install in a 2.5 bath pre-plumbed home.
The clack valve is my favorite. Most reliable on the market. Look for that brand when making your decision. In order to know proper sizing the hardness and the pipe size of loop is needed. Most plumbing supply wholesalers will have a good softener available.
Thank-You for breaking that down! Can the typical home owner buy the more quality system and install it themselves or does it have to be by a business?
Anyone can buy a softener. They are available either online or at a local plumbing supply. Just be sure you get a clack manufacturer. They are sold under different brands. Locally in this area Gemini is a brand sold at Morrison plumbing supply.
@@onenikkione good point. In the state of texas a homeowner can install almost anything in their home as long as it is their homestead. They can pull permits as well.
thank you! i work at appliance park and i was about to buy our ge brand that looks similar to the crappy one. well, back to the drawing board and find another brand
You know like i said in the video if you have a small home and you are installing yourself it makes soft water its just a disposable unit. Its not the worst idea just making a decision based on good information. Hope your project goes well
I am not a fan of those. The reason is mixing media isn’t a great idea it’s not efficient. You are better off either utilizing a carbon filter canister style. Or utilizing a second carbon stand alone that has a head to back flush.
Not a fan of Hague systems. But I have seen them making soft water for years. Due to their antique design the flow rate is not great through their systems. They are more complicated to repair. I would not say a terrible choice better than some.
Thank you for comparing the real selection we are stuck seeing at box stores. Tired of these repetitive videos telling me why I need soft water and not answering the differences of units. I have extremely hard water (500ppm), weak flow, and small cabinet softener in a purchased home. Confident the separate resin tank softener will solve my issues.
Glad your happy with your product. However a little research would reveal kinetico is hands down one of the poorest built over priced under engineered softeners on the planet. The theory is great but the actual product leaves a lot to be desired. A proprietary product is one where the purchaser has only one option for service and repair. In my professional opinion I am not of fan of that either.
