I would love to see a video about Birkenstock Bend Low (or some other wide toe box sneakers available in Europe). I've been wearing them for a couple of months and they're the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I'm curious about the leather quality - it seems fine to me, but I'm no expert.

I got some Allen Edmonds Park City boots a year ago. They were on sale for $249. Cork footbed, thick leather midsole, 360 Goodyear welted, with Vibram wedge soles. Pretty decent boots for an easy resole. Comfortable, yes. I cannot see how the Herman Munster sandal company boots are a better deal.

That synthetic fabric sealing most of the moisture inside the upper is a huge dealbreaker. That’s a major vapor barrier, keeping your skin wet, and thereby blister prone all day, SMH. Birkis have been destroying their once great reputation. I’m glad you’re exposing the corner cutters!

I bought Birkenstock 08017 boots in 2019 with the cork insole. The outsole wore out in about 3 months. Took them to a cobbler, who said the boot fell apart on him. He rebuilt it and put vibram outsoles. I love them now. I've had to have them resoled a number of times and the side stitching has broken ( I had leather patches sewn across ). They are literally the only shoe that actually fits me because of bunions. -- and no, getting EE size doesn't work.

Watched the video twice to hear information about what looks like a rubber bumper sewn around the lower vamp. As much praise is given to boots with a double leather toe cap, not a word about what appears to be a rubber toe cap. Would have really appreciated some info on this subject regarding this boot.

Jim Green has a few videos on their channel that give you a pretty good idea of how higher-quality boots are made. I do remember there was a slower-paced video about a custom hiking boot brand from South Korea somewhere on RU-vid that did basically everything by hand.

@@StealthNinja4577 I've seen a few makers of the years do it. Beyond all of the standard leatherworking kit you do want a couple of special bootmaking tools. Then you buy yourself a piece of leather and get going, there are patterns online. I've seen people reuse leather from sofas and bags to make boots too.

Birkenstock boots aren't a heritage boot brand, it's a comfort casual use anatomical boot made for realistic use. Not to be worn daily (because you shouldn't) not chopping down trees, or building a house - who pissed you off at Birkenstock?

I knew from the moment it got bought by the LVMH universe, that Birkenstock deserves to be abbreviated like Louis Vuitton. Birkenstock can now officially appreciated with BS. Not only will I never buy one of their newer models, I will also advocate to not buy the traditional to drive the value of the company into the ground.

Watched and enjoyed many of your reviews..but...just because a shoe isn't made of biblical quality leather doesn't make it a bad shoe. Does it? You seem genuinely angry in this review.
