Man! When I first started playing guitar back in the day (1976) I sure wish something like the BE mini was available. People don’t realize how difficult (and ultra expensive) it was to get not only a passable rock tone, but a pretty killer rock tone the BE mini gives you.

Honestly that thing looks great for the kid who can't afford a Friedman beast and wants one. It sounds a hell of a lot better than a Katana for that overdriven Marshall thing in all the clips I've heard.

Absolutely makes sense that Friedman would make this product. I have a 1979 Marshall JMP 100w 2103 2x12 combo. I also have a 1988 Lead 12 mini stack. There is a time and a place for each and both have a core sound I want, but one will never replace the other. I am not a Dentist or a Lawyer, but then again, my amps are not Friedmans ( or does it become Friedmen when plural??)

I have played around with the Smallbox... The BE-mini sounds awesome for what it is, but the Smallbox is the best amp I've ever tried. It's just perfect.

this is a good amp and it doesn´t sound bad But why not buy a Friedman OD with a small poweramp like all the small poweramp´s for pedalboards (I can´t think that this sounds so different)

Isn't that what this is honestly? I believe i read Dave himself said this is the BE pedal circuit paired with a solid state power amp ...so it already is what your saying just delivered in a head format......on a FB group i am in that Dave Friedman is part of i asked ....I wonder if "acceptance" of this would be better if Friedman repackaged it AS a powered pedal for a board? ..... I got no replies...lol

Hi Henning, I would like to see you use the be mini as a overdrive pedal with a clean amp, using it with the right amp stack may be a better use,an overdrive pedal with 30 solid state watts, would like to know what you think, Troy from Alantic City 🌆

Just use the effects send of it to your main amp. It'd be way too much overdrive and distortion but it'd work. It doesn't need a speaker hooked up to it as it's class D.

So here is my question - What kind of volume can I expect into a 16ohm 1x12 with a Mesa Vintage 30? I assume an 8ohm would be louder, but by how much?

Just ordered one. £200 from guitar guitar at the moment. I have a Barefaced 1x12 so will be interesting to hear what that sounds like as the Barefaced is a room filler of a cab.

It's a toy, you can practice with it, you can play live with it but does it sound good? No and I don't mean in comparison to the real one, I mean just overall. I'd rather buy an empty headshell if I just wanted something that looks cool.

@@EytschPi42 Instead of making fun of amp whole time you guys should see if there us any legitimate usability in it. Another idea compare to a DSL 20 or Origin. For the money should get something usable. Great channel though

Ah..but....if you bought a Runt 20 like i did and became unhappy with the lack of the punch one would think it would have THIS is a good cheaper alternative that WILL have the punch

My dentist didn’t have one😡, and his PA system in the office sounded total Shite when I played thru it, people get all weirded out when Electic funeral starts blasting out of the ceilings whilst someone is drilling into they’re molars ??? Yes I’m leaving, well if you didn’t want people back here you should have a sign or something…🚷🛑 what that red thing??? You know I can’t read ok ok I’m leaving, can I get a Fresh toothbrush mine is getting…ok I’m leaving no reason to call the authorities… Guess I need to find a new dentist?!?

I think even a Fender Rumble blows it away if what you’re getting in the video is indicative of what to expect in terms of sound.

Nah, man, even Boss Katana or Yamaha THR, or Blackstar ID:30 give better and far more flexible sound with lots of built in effects. And they are combos, or have a combo version with almost same price. Freidman BE mini sounds bad, it's awful. BE-Od pedal, plugins like Neural DSP or JST, god, even metal zone waza sounds better. Realistically, your advocasy for Friedman's failure failed too. Sorry for you, man.

I would give about 50euros for this crap maybe 70 cuz it's a 30watt. Really? This ultra beginner solid statey sounding amp is to be taken that serious? Buy a 30euro distortion pedal and set the drive knob to the point where you only hear static if you wanna recreate this sound. 😂 There are so many good amps at that price range.

it's nice good practice amp i always went on stage with 300 watts 3 hiwatt custom 100 set up as 1amp clean 1 amp dirty and the 3rd as a slave booster to the other 2 since i have nothing now i can only be jealous of some anyways my point is that everything in canada is double the price in europe partly why i hate canada
