This was so spot on. This was my life for thirteen years of a toxic marriage. She would often misinterpret everything I say and twist it, Never resolving issues at hand. She was very selfish and always wanted her way no matter what costs. To the point of actually discarding me. Thank God my peace will never be disrupted again. Thank you for spreading awareness.

This is so true. I learned not to engage. That's how you get them to leave. Took 30 days but he finally abandoned me. I prayed for God to remove the devil from every aspect of my life. He did just that. I'm so peaceful and working hard to get back on track after 11.5 years of constant abuse. I am eternally grateful and praise God constantly. ❤

This just happened to me with someone. Someone I helped and supported when he was struggling. He twisted everything I said and made it all about him and his pride. He gaslighted me when I supplied him with facts. I saw signs in him for a while now and my husband warned me. I cried over it for about a minute then I no longer cared lol. I am not going to allow the Devil to be a stumblingblock for me. I refuse to entertain and involve myself in his immature, petty nonsense. I just feel terrible for his miserable wife who's stuck with him.

A family Narc came around when the mom died. He had not come around to take care of their Mom but he showed up wanting to see how much money he could get. He was told there was15 thousand left but bills to pay. He puffed up happy and in a few weeks came back all excited to get his check. He was handed a check for 5 grand split with his brother after a 5k hospital bill left. His eyes turned black! He said "You told me there was 50 Thousand left! I can see how a snake might hear 50 when ya say 15. He heard what he wanted to. He left fuming calling us every name in the book. A few days later my husband got the call that his last Uncle had left him his house. We had gone up there multiple times and were the only cousins that loved him and checked on him weekly to keep him out of a nursing home. I paid a neighbor of his to check on him and bring him things and I sent him food as often as we could. We did not he had land to give and even after bills we got enough to buy the house of our dreams. Did not split it with the prodigal angry bro. If he had ever helped the uncle or come around to see his mom much perhaps we would've cut him in on that. That was the Lord himself blessing us for doing the right thing for years and years. I thank Uncle Francis nearly every day for this.

That was crazy, how did you get an interview with my ex wife? All joking aside, thank you for making this video. Between my mother and ex wife, one an overt, and one a covert, they had me convinced I was always the problem. Yet no matter how much I was willing to change for them, they always stayed the same. When I FINALLY figured out what was going on and called them both out on it, I became enemy number one for sure. A slander party ensued, among all sorts of other nasty cowardly attacks behind my back. Still nothing but fake smiles to my face though. Thank you for your content. God bless you in Jesus' name.

It's almost impossible to describe the narcissist in your life to someone else. I used to say that it's like there is something in the air between us that changes the words that I am saying from my mouth to her ears. So frustrating.

Wow! My husband literally accused me of being controlling this weekend. Yet, he is the one who spends money on expensive road bicycles and alllll the tight shorts, Italian jerseys, special shoes, gloves and customizations for his bicycles. He would offer to take my family out to dinner a few times to look like the kind, wonderful amazing guy and then a few weeks later when the bank account was low, suddenly it was my fault. I'd made him take my family out. Such a liar. He just wanted to look good and them blame the reckless spending on me. He had also badgered me off and on for years to move up to the dry ugly foothills just outside the city were we lived. I repeatedly said no. It was just as hot as the city and we have kids with special needs. All their therapies and resources are in the city. He persisted and promise me a handfull of items for our kids, money saving things like solar panels on the house, a homeschool room, a dance area for our dancer daughter and a private sewing space, albeit out in the garage for me, but it would be my area. That made me think about it. Then he talked his boss into giving him a building loan because our credit was not good enough. Once that happened, he started making me believe he might lose his job if he didn't take this once in a lifetime loan from his boss so what was I supposed to do? Cause him to lose his job? He is our sole source of income. He started building the house, took forever, the c word hit and the alternate dance studio up in the foothills that I thought we might be able to take the kids to closed. I thought I had a contact and potential teacher for our visually impaired child up in the foothills but she also disappeared. My husband got fed up building the house and put it up for sale because he didn't think he could finish but any offers would put us at a loss. He decided to finish the house. We sold our old house and he had us living in a small travel trailer, illegally, on the property because he couldn't pass inspections. We finally passed by the Grace of God. But our visually impaired child turned out to have dyslexia as well as autism with a PDA (very resistant to cooperation) profile. After 5 years of trying to teach her how to read and she just wasn't reading, I also had to fight the school who wasn't doing their job and providing vision services. I'd already fought them for years when they failed our son and then refused to give in person speech therapy, occupational therapy, etc. I hired a lawyer who let us determine payments and then reimbursed us fees. She got us a paid placement in a tiny dyslexia school paid by her former public charter. I was elated! But that didn't last long. I now had to drive my daughter back and forth, 40 minutes each way on a dangerous road twice a day, occasionally more for therapies and classes including ones for my other kids. My husband then accused me of "giving up on our daughter" because I was letting specially trained dyslexia teachers help her. He also accused me of spending too much money when we went down into the city because I had no home to rest at in between school and therapies/classes etc. He projects and tells me that I'm controlling and he can't do anything right when the reality is that *he's* controlling and I'm the one who can't do anything right.

I left over two years ago after an 8 year marriage with a narcissist. He lied about everything (shocker) and stole money from not only my retirement accounts but other peoples as well. I learned that I can make more money but I can't make more time. In the beginning upon discovering all of the things he did, it made me nauseous and whenever I asked to discuss finances, he would raise his voice and try to intimidate me and bully me into silence. I knew God provides for us not man and I was tested in this many times over the last 28 months since I left. Sometimes my prayer was just: "God, I trust You." In 24 months, I was able to pay off 16K in debt, rebuild my savings (5K) and pay back taxes my ex didn't pay even though he said he had. I am still waiting for the divorce to be final as he is not cooperating (shocker). I know it will come, I just need to wait and be patient. The most painful part of the relationship with him is he manipulated one of my children against me. I am confident God will open her eyes and she will return to me. Prayers appreciated! How do I deal with my narcissist sister and her equally narcissistic husband who have done everything they possibly can to destroy my husband, our children and me… Literally… they falsely accused my husband of sexually abusing our youngest daughter, and we ended up losing our two youngest daughters to CPS. That happened just over 12 years ago. We finally have re-established some contact with our 23 year old, but she’s been through hell and back after being adopted by a “Christian sex therapist” and his wife. She eventually ended up on drugs and being trapped in a same-sex relationship that was probably more of a front for being trafficked. She finally ended up in jail for about 6 weeks, and it was enough to get her to turn around. She completed a Christian based drug treatment program, but after listening to her “testimony “, it is clear that her recovery is based on a lie… The lie they drilled into her during the years she and her sister were in foster care and after she was adopted. Our youngest daughter finally came home 5 months ago … and confirmed what we always believed - that the CPS workers, etc., lied to us. She DID NOT tell them her dad abused her. She tried desperately n to tell them it did not happen, but they tried to convince her it did. She was incredibly stubborn (always was - from the very beginning) and refused to allow anyone to adopt her. She got into a lot of trouble in school, but never went the drug and alcohol route. Soooo… a few weeks after she returned home, my dad fell and broke his hip. My parents and I have had a fairly strained relationship throughout most of my left, but I’ve always been a bit closer to Dad. My mom and sister were the ones who made the initial accusation against my husband - but that was unsubstantiated very quickly, because the investigator and detective both said they knew the reporter was lying. It took three years before I figured out who actually did it. Anyway, four more hotline calls were placed against us, with the fifth one being the final nail in our coffin. Through the years, my parents came to understand just how underhanded and evil my sister really is… and my dad started becoming very angry with her and her husband. So… back to his broken hip. He had to have a hip replacement, and hadn’t been back in his room from surgery more than 30 minutes when my BIL started trying to assert himself as the decision maker for dad’s care. I stood up to him and said that we would all be part of that process, but it was up to Mom and Dad for the final decision. That started an incredible all out war against me … With them convincing mom that I am trying to take over everything of mom and dads. It’s crazy. At their point, my dad has been hospitalized at least twice that I know of - and is now in a nursing home, but I’ve been Kept in the dark about all of it, I found out by accident about his last hospitalization, and when in went to the house to try and find out from mom what is going on, she slammed the door in my face. Back in January, my BIL physically assaulted me, in trying to make me leave Mom and dads house. They were supposedly having A “private conversation “ about dads care. There is so much more to this bizarre situation… but the bottom line is that it is more of a spiritual attack against me, that keeps me from being able to see Dad. For 2 1/2 years, I have had ulcers in my left foot that are very badly infected. In have been hospitalized twice, almost losing my life both times. I came close to having my foot amputated as well. It is very bad again, and I am now unable to work. I’m on indefinite unpaid leave😢 Ironically, the reason my dad was hospitalized this time is because he has an infection and ulcers on his left foot that won’t heal. He did not have them before he broke his hip. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT IS HAPPENING. When I look back over my life with my human - we’ve been married for 35 years now, and together for 36 years - we have had some pretty significant issues to deal with. Yes, my husband had some issues to deal with, that caused a great deal of pain to me and cost us a lot of money in our early years. We struggled through, but kept wondering why ever time we turned around, we were being ostracized at each church we were involved in. It all broke open just a few months before the final hotline can, when my (former) best friend revealed hoe my sister had been confiding in her for so many years about all that she was staying and doing… knowing full well was lying everytime she told someone about us. We eventually had a conversation with her and her husband- because THEIR issues were being exposed … we had no idea they were experiencing some of the very same sin issues that we had previously battled -and won victory over. In that meeting, she admitted to lying about us, and knowing she was doing so. She has since retracted this admissions, then admitted to the lies and retracted then several more times. I cannot handle this anymore. I am so tired of the physical illness… I am so tired of being falsely accused of things I have never done.. nor would I ever do.

How they can turn you giving them something into a favor they did for you I will never understand

I watched hundreds of thousands of narcissist videos and this is certainly one of the best!

The skits are accurate except the narc I’m married to starts yelling, screaming and calling me names. I gave up on a budget and saving money years ago. It was my idea therefore I’m telling him what to do. I said “I’m trying to help us be ready so you can retire.” His reply “I can’t retire because there’s no way I could spend all day every day with you.” So I quit.

He would always say I said something that I did not say !!

Are narcissists considered evil people??

I've finally learned this and stopped talking. Everything I said was misinterpreted and then I would get accused of attacking when I started yelling. Being misunderstood is a trigger for me. It's like he knows that. I'm beyond frustrated. And tired of being confused.

Favourite response to every issue I ever had with him..."I don't understand that", or "I don't see it that way", "huh, you shoukd try it from my side". Eventually I just stopped talking about the things that were bothering me because the conversation always became about him, so he then put me down by saying "See, you won't face these things and just run away from them". I'm praising the Lord right now, for showing me your channel!.

Actually what I was dealing with, great skits and explaintions. I have delt with all of these things, traits. Yes the hear the total opposite of what you are saying. You never on the same page as you think you believe. This is where the confusion, and frustration come in. My ex boyfriend 's brother said that he hated both of us. And I said I wish he would of told me that earlier. Now I know how you really feel and I started to pull back slowly. I went to see my now ex on Christmas and his brother was trying to be nice and get me to talk. When he brought me home he tried to hug me and I didn't interact with him, I didn't respond to him or hug him back. Why would I want to be around someone that hates me and is jealous and envious of me. I don't need that.

Great vid, and so true! Some people just take our kindness for weakness. I just recently got out of the hospital after major surgery. I asked a "casual acquaintance" to drive me to a couple of doctor visits. I paid him very well and introduced him to my accountant to help him with his taxes (he is having financial issues). He is very active in his church. A couple of weeks later, he wanted me to go to lunch with him. I was still trying to recuperate from surgery. He got angry that I wouldn't go to lunch with him. No empathy, compassion, understanding. He is no longer in my life. Some people only see things from their point of view. Selfish, self centered. 2 Timothy 3.

The toughest part of NPD/SPD/PPD - is everything, every word and conversation.. is CIRCUMSTANTIAL. An extremely disordered, pathologically manipulative person, could say either ends of this conversation. (As well as a normal/decent person). BUT - Its all about context and circumstances, to determine WHO the manipulator is. For example: the decent person will undoubtedly call out the disordered person after so long, for trying to control them (because it ACTUALLY happens) OR the MANIPULATOR will PREEMPTIVELY say “I don’t want to argue” (because they know they are about to say something to start an argument - and then when you respond to their provoking comments ... YOU look like the bad guy ... since they started off the conversation with the “virtue signaling” statement of: I don’t want to argue.) They will twist things up, intentionally, so bad and confusing. And enough of it can permanently ruin your life, if you were born into it. ALL WORDING is CIRCUMSTANTIAL, CONTEXTUAL. THE “rules” of NPD, or even far worse - the Dark Triad, are really just guidelines. Everything is circumstantial. That needs to be known, if someone really wants to understand how all this works. Otherwise, people will think they are seeing narcissists and psychopaths everywhere, and they will have the wrong people branded in their mind as the bad guy.

Have you dealt with someone who was petty to the point where it's childish? For example, " Oh you did this thing that I was offended by, so I'm going to do it back to you." It's so childish and petty, I don't even know how to address sometimes, a reoccurring pattern. Is this behavior a form of narcissistic tendencies?

Great video on a very important topic, love the humor of role playing! They say perception is everything in communication even more so when dealing with a narcissist or any person inside the dark triad of human behavior. That said it's clear that they want to control the narrative by controlling your perception of their behavior, hence the regular use of gaslighting, projection, word salad, and flat out lying. I've heard it said that you should stop all sincere communication with the terminally insincere, but this is not always an option. Thanks Kris for giving us more tools for our toolbox to deal with these insufferable people!

It's exhausting talking to them. Your example conversation is all too familiar. He would say things like we gotta go hard on our grind but when I check the account, he's been spending the money. So no matter how hard I went, it would never last because he would spend. I had to start my own separate account. Our conversations used to make me dizzy because we were going in circles. 😵‍💫🥴

Great timing. I stumbled on this video immediately after a long and circular and frustrating conversation with my narcissistic personality disordered mother. I had reached out to her, essentially breaking no contact, to try to be helpful to her and ended up in one of these round and round conversations that always feel like I’m banging my head against the wall! I am so done. Thank you for the reminders that this is “normal“ for these people. What makes it worse with my mother is that she really plays the “I’m so old and confused and feeble“ card. She has been tested and does not have Alzheimer’s or dementia, but boy, she sure turns on the act in order to get sympathy and supply. That they sound harsh, but I have even been told by the professionals in her retirement community that they believe she is manipulating me!

Hey Kris I just wanna say thanks for putting out this video. I’ve watched a lot of videos about narcissism trying to determine if my ex is really a narcissist or if she is just a little different. Evidently there are confusing variations but this vid with you acting out both parts has allowed me to see clearly that my suspicions were correct…. I’ve had two in a row so I must be a magnet for these monsters …I’ve now decided I’m going to be working on detection skills to make sure I don’t become a victim again. I really like how you describe how a narcissist views and interprets conflict resolution - no matter how kind or respectful, no matter how Godly or loving, and no matter how strong my desire is for connection and growth - he only sees how I'm hurting him, how I'm 'taking' from him, how 'selfish' I am, how I'm interrupting him etc. I just discovered you and your channel and will be looking in to more, especially how to stay faithful to our Lord and my marriage vows in my marital relationship. Hi Kris, thanks for the role play video, which is spot on. For myself, I will do everything in my power (with Gods help and guidance and pray for his favour) to avoid absolutey ALL communications with Narcissists. I refer to them as the "devils agents", neither will I be a devils advocate/advocating for the devils agents (enabler) at all costs so help me God.🙏 What does the bible say about the character of SATAN/the DEVIL? This is exactly what you are dealing with, when you're dealing with someone with pathological mental disorders (the scientific/psychological medical name given) they are in fact posessed by the spirits of darkness. Im not even going to beat around the bush, get far away from these demonic humans who by the way have chosen to follow the devil. The narc knows full well their actions and motives are not right yet they choose to do them anyway until they cant get away with doing it any more. The bible also says that God says in Rom 12:19 "....LEAVE ROOM for revenge is mine declares the Lord ...". This whole world is so corrupt, in such a mess because we too are at fault and have allowed these evil demonic humans to run a mock on society, we have compromised ourselves and everything that is dear to us just because we THOUGHT it would be a good thing to give these evil demonic humans the benefit of the doubt. We now have a lot of mess to clean up. The narc should be so lucky to have a compassionate, caring, giving, kind, loving person who has patience to deal with them and who is naive to their demonic evil. Oh and by the way according to the narc, all the good qualities is seen as a weakness they can and will exploit, they despise and will treat you with contempt. Let these devil agents go play in their own mess with their own kind, they will get rid of each other and nope I dont feel sorry for the devil nor those who deliberately choose to follow him. Kris, You are so concise about their behavior and what my response should be. I went out of a long no contact in response to my late brother, who said he wanted me "get along" with toxic siblings. They chose to be respectful to him, but not to me. I said I was okay that she's not okay with. I need to take time to heal. So my no contact is her silence treatment to teach me my lesson. Do you all ever wonder if the narcissists we loved and put up with have a brain defect? I’m not saying that just to say it. It’s like talking to someone who has a serious TBI but the most difficult part is you witness that they can be completely “normal”. It’s like they have multiple personalities. They need medical attention. It’s so heartbreaking when you’re still in love with someone and have a beautiful child together but they only care about making sure you are unhappy, unseen, unheard and unhealthy. I don’t know how much longer I can endure this. Please, if you’ve read this far, pray for my husband, David. We’ve been married 10 years and have a gorgeous 19 month old daughter and just bought our dream home. It feels like he’s getting worse every single day. I don’t understand. I stand my ground with him and I refuse to back down because I can’t anymore. I respect myself and I’m fighting for our marriage and the beautiful life Jesus has blessed us with. He is just so hell bent and determined to not adjust to being an adult. (He’s 55 years old.)
