@@kamikeserpentail3778you should probably go with the eruptor instead because until it gets a buff, the explosive crossbow isn't all that great and the eruptor is basically a sniper and grenade launcher mixed together into one weapon.
I actually like the napalm strike, unfortunately its basically unusable until they fix the fire damage bug. Will probably pick up in popularity when it actually functions properly.
I use it for my Hans Flammenwerfer build and it works great for me. Closes bug holes like the normal airstrike (although needs more precision) and burns things to a crisp most of the time.
@@justincase1448 Well it's not just fire, it also affects the gas strike, but basically there is a bug atm with all damage over time effects where they only work for 1 person in the lobby. That isn't necessarily the host, it's random who it will work for. For everyone else, any burning or gas they try to apply to enemies will do nothing. The direct damage from such attacks work, it's just the DoT that doesn't. It's a known issue that the devs have stated they are working on.
@@dovahkat9635 ah I see welp that explains the inconsistency I've been getting when I play with my friends since I use the napalm when we play terminids. thanks for the heads up.
"If the orbital EMS is your favorite, you like to run away, nothing else can answer this." Me using it on eradicate missions to stop the 5 hulks sprinting at full speed towards my nearly dead teammates: (true story, we made it out alive)
On lvl 7 difficulty, I threw an ems strike and gas strike with a flame grenades on a bug breach. Everything died with the exception of the three chargers and 2 titans. Which is ok because the others had quasars canons, 500 kg, and orbits rail canons. Bugs came out the wrong hole.
Fun fact: orbital precision can destroy detector towers, stratagem jammers (once you turn them off), and illegal research buildings. It’s super underrated
how am I supposed to tell my teamates where the minefield is when they can't even listen to when I arm a hellbomb "Hellbomb armed L4 get out of there, No don't take the samples now! Run! It's about to explode! L4!!! ... *sigh* There he goes "
Autocannon main and a certified second generation Creek Crawler here, I’ve put in so much work with the Autocannon that I’ve turned Space Vietnam into Space Stalingrad.
I will never understand why that CAS strafing run isn't as devastating as an A-10 strafing run. Would love to see a hanger upgrade that gives the strafing run heavy armor pen
@@greatbrandini3967hoping they bring back the Close Air Support stratagem from HD1. Sucker saved my butt plenty of times. (Granted, it was just fun-run w/ homing missiles, but still.)
@@Nempo13A-10 IRL can't ignore all armour. There's a reason tanks don't mount GAU-8 Avengers. 30mm vs 120mm is no contest. The amazing part about the Eagle Strafing Run is that it hits anything at all. In tests, it was found that the A-10 had a 0-2% chance of landing a shot on the target.
People don't understand the power of the 110mm rocket pods. Did you know this thing can track enemies AND one shots tanks? Its like the railgut but better.
when it works its amazing, simply a better railcannon. when it doesnt, you are getting turned into swiss cheese by three shredder tanks due to missing.
I’ve used it a half dozen times and it has missed every single time. So now I don’t use it. If it worked, I probably would. Idk if I’m doing something wrong, but since it’s supposed to be self targeting I can’t imagine what that would be.
110 only lock enemy on 1st strategem contact spot 5m radius Railcannon more homing wider range, alway skip the dead one, (I once killed the Titan while it was homing, then it immediatly switched to the next Charger)
@@rsiv5156 It's best used on stationary and slow moving targets. Even if it is self-targeting, you have to lead your shots. Even then, all eagle stratagems suffer from angle of fire problems, and even rng, you can at least control the two angles of fire you get from choosing where and how you throw it. The multiple uses and the low cool down time of the rearm is better in my opinion than the orbital rail cannon when you know there will be multiple large enemies. It's better than the waste of an alternative of bringing two support weapons.
Having used the 110mm a fair bit it doesn't have the damage or the search range for its target; however, you get up to 3 of them and they cooldown quick. Against some targets they arn't that great, like Chargers and Hulks need to hit from a certain angle to hit a weak point due to the eagle firing from an angle. I only use it for when I need to kill tanks tbh, very niche. I am sad the new T4 XXL eagle upgrade doesn't add an extra rocket to the salvo. =[ I'll probably compare the T4 eagle airstrike with the 110mm later since the extra bomb seems to make it just as effective at taking out tanks. But of note, the 110mm has a rather safe and small AoE for those moments you don't want to blast your teammates but need the strike.
As a big fan of the eagle cluster bomb, I'd definitely make a change to it. If the cluster bomb is your favorite, you either routinely save the squad with expertly placed strikes that wipe out an entire army... or you are the leading cause of friendly fire incidents... no in-between. I have lost count of how many times I have been disintegrated by a teammates cluster bomb.
@@ASMRCIGARS yeah but it's cool down isn't too long. I use it in conjunction with the "democracy protects" armor caviat and it makes carrying hard drive missions a breeze.
The grenade launcher is one of the best support weapons to ever exist, i've done irreparable damage to both terminids and automatons alike. Definitely based. I don't use it as much now because the quasar canon is really good against automaton ships and tanks but still love it
fact: - EAT has the fastest Rof between shot - RR has faster RoF than Quasar - RR can split reload animation by 3 times - Both work with instant shot means more time to care around - Spear is tactical, save time and lives for team advice: - Dont emphasize too much on unlimited ammo and free backpack slot, - Ammo everywhere on map, dont waste them on unworthy enemy, most of them slower than ur sprinting - Instead of backpack, better bring sentry and set up to work fast and effeciency - Clearing small mobs is more important, leave the Heavies to Eagle and Orbital . Quasar is not too good, its balanced to the others.
Yeah, grenade launcher is easy to use and have decent damage. But after i tried autocannon then i immediately fell in love with it. I don't use grenade launcher anymore due to the fact that it's so ammo hungry and can't shoot to Hulk face consistently, but that was the most fun weapon for me.
Nah, that used to be the NCR cosplay gun. Now it's the Eruptor because it's a bolt action sniper rifle with the explosive ammo every New Vegas player uses.
As a ballistic shield user I can definetly say we are not dead but all playing on helldiver difficulty in Malevolent Creek stiff all doing a shield wall together to hold back the Large threats the Automatones are yet to present
I like the supply backpack as a less selfish, more flexible survivability backpack, you can use it for ammo, nades, helping teammates, or as an additional 16+ stims
If your favourite strategem is the Eagle Napalm strike, you're probably Robert Duvall in Apocalypse now looking to set a whole hill alight so you can say the line: "I love the smell of napalm in the morning, smells like victory"
and adding on, "If your favorite is the Quasar Cannon, you like the expendable anti tank, but you don't wanna wait for the cooldown and drop time, so you settle for waiting a few seconds instead to expend freedom in a contained laserblast." either that or "you sometimes like to use it on anything that isn't a heavy and that gets you killed by the heavy around the corner."
As someone who brings both the arc thrower and the motars to insect mission, all I can say in most of you will die but thats a sacrifice I'm willing to make.
To answer on why some of us use eagle rocket pods: The eagle rocket pods targets the biggest target and able to penetrate through heavy armor (at the cost of damage, of course) while still having some mob clearing capability of the eagle airstrike. This translates to a greater room for errors when compared to 500kg for killing heavies (because the eagle would "aim" for the heaviest target) and you could literally throw it onto your team mate that is swarmed with almost no worries that it would kill your team mate.
Gatling Sentey and Gatling Orbital are my go to stratagems for Terminid dives. While everyone brings the big bombs, I make sure that all the small trash gets taken out asap. If the stratagems are not enough, I'll just use my breaker incendiary. Works like a charm
The autocannon turret has wiped my team more than anything else because I swear that thing always turns around to dome one of my teammates before shooting at the enemy like we have to sacrifice a diver to have it work as intended. And if you don't destroy it before pushing up, then say goodbye to your knee caps because it will aim through them to shoot the head glitching raider hiding in a trench. And that's what I love about the autocannon turret.
You know what,I do love the HMG mounted turret. I even bring it on non defensive missions. And I will surround myself in ap mines and fire mines, wearing a bubble shield and 50% explosive dmg resistance
Um, the rocket fucking sentry is amazing. Its held hell at the gate many times for me and i believe it targets the toughest enemy it can from my experience.
Correction If the EMS mortar sentry is your favorite, the normal mortar sentry used to be your favorite but you're scared of accidentally teamkilling everyone so now you just use this thing and then throw grenades at them. Somehow you still managed to kill half your team.
I always bring the Orbital Rail Cannon with me. Never know when you'll need to one shot a Hulk chasing after a friend with all the samples that somehow got split off from the team.
Orbital Precision does more damage than the 500kg, but in a smaller radius. It can destroy rogue research stations, as well as any bot objective besides fuel reserves.
I usually run the EMS mortor, and it never occured to me to use it to run away. I only use it when i am protecting a position, it is great at highlighting where the enemy is and giving me easy headshots. It also does not kill allies when they are hit with it, which is nice.
I love the Guarddog Rover + flame thrower, but I have had so many incidents where my rover literally beheads a fellow helldiver while trying to track a flanking hunter
With the flamethrower you want everything well done. The bugs, the terrain, the teammates. All while cackling maniacally to yourself. "Smells like...victory." Also you only eat toasted marshmallows that are pieces of charcoal.
I have two favorites: Flamethrower and Arc Thrower so I guess I'm a Sith Lord with a barbecue obsession. Really I just like pretending to be a wizard by throwing various flavors of elemental death at enemies. My fav guns are the Breaker incendiary and Bllitzer soooo... yeah.
11:11 Sadly the Patriot is less Gundam and more uh... Well I want to say Battletech but there's probably another mech series this is even closer to. Also props for using The 08th MS Team.
Probably jump pack, because I'm a cat. I love going in places I'm not supposed to when no one's looking unleashing mayhem and then walking away as if it's someone else's fault. Truly one of the best stealth tools. precision strike is actually pretty fucking good, like I'll legit bring that to solo Helldives. I never actually used the prenerf railgun. It's not my absolute favorite but it's competent for what it does. From what I understand, safe mode used to be as strong as unsafe mode is now, which truly does sound broken.
My favorite strategy is the Spear more than anything because of how much time it saves on bot missions because it can destroy fabricators from all angles at any range, and while the lock is finicky, it's reliable enough. It also lets me destroy stratagem jammers before they even become relevant. I also think that strafing run is a sorely underrated stratagem just. It comes out almost instantly and goes in a straight line in front of you, so it's easy to control
I change my loadout quite often in different missions depending on difficulty or enemy but the one that I keep 90% of the time is the Autocannon Sentry. I usually place it at a high point that can overlook a field and can rain down on enemies from a distance while lessening risk of hitting my teammates unless if they are right next to the enemy that my Sentry sees.
Ballistic Shield diver here! Defender SMG+grenade pistol+stun grenades+laser cannon lets you handle most things bot-side, especially if your team is good about dealing with rocket destroyers. You can walk up to a factory strider unmolested if you keep your shield up, stop their ejection of bots with a stun grenade, and blow them up from beneath by laser cannoning them in the belly.
Tip: Mortars against bugs only make sense on defense missions because they always try to close the gap as soon as possible. That puts you in danger. Mortar against automatons are almost always good to go because they don't prioritise closing the gap and mostly engage in distance! But they sometimes do, so beware.
I usually play with other people, and my multiplayer build is a Tank-killer. Railgun, Shield Pack, Eagle Strike, and Railcannon orbital. I'll occasionally switch to Arc Thrower because that's what i used before I got the Railgun, and I planned for it to be in my build before I realized you can't use multiple weapon strategems.
It may sound stupid to you all, but it works for me. I use supply packs, precision strikes, railcannon strikes, and eagle airstrikes. For equipment, i use defender smg, gp-31, and infiltrator light armor. It's kinda fun to get deep behind the battle line, being stealthy, alone, calling airstrikes, while dodging hulk, patrol, tank, walking factory, and turret left and right in prone position also collecting samples.
You Gotta use eagle smokestrike like you are laying down trenches for your squad to push onward into extreme number of automatons, it's really fun. Also if close enough the flashlight into the smoke causes enemies to glow.
yeah, though on an ice planet that rover is GOD. It can just go and go and go and go. I have seen it wipe out entire squads by itself on ice planets lol.
I like to think that the orbital laser is all the thoughts and prayers of the children of super earth reaching me and destroying my enemies. This game rocks
In my vast usage of the o.g. 380 and the current buffed version WITH the 4th level super destroyer upgrade, i can attest to its superb ability to target helldivers, however it takes out the walking bot fabricators and large nests/bot bases easy asf, or huge hordes of bile titans that spawn on level 7+. Also precision strike goes crazy bc its just a single 380 sniper shot
110mm rocket strike is the budget orbital railgun, it does the same thing and 100% Knicks out tanks, turret emplacements and even the odd hulk buster or bruiser. Underated in my personal opinion !
The orbital smoke strike deploys differently compared to the eagle smoke strike also since it's not a eagle it has no need to re-arm just a cooldown (the orbital smoke strike deploy in more of a circle instead of a line making it alot better)
I learned the first time I used it that with an unassisted by servo arms max distance throw of a 380mm, you start in its area of effect and need to take a good few steps back
low-key the ballistic shields buffs make it pretty damn good, run that with the defender and you can head on a heavy devastator and win without taking a single hit
I’m guessing this video was made before the quasar dropped. For that one, you’re just reliving the days when you were serving hunters up fried with the Splaser.
My top 4 are the 500kg Bomb, Orbital Railcannon Strike, Flamethrower and Shield Generator Backpack, however, against Automatons ill switch out the Flamethrower for Expendable Anti Tank/Recoilless Rifle/Quasar Cannon/Anti Materiel Rifle
