I beat the DLC as Strength/Arcane. Used the GUTS Greatsword (bleed affinity) with the Ash of War from Commander Gaius' weapon. Flying spinning bleed bonk. For range I used maternal staff for arcane scaling, and Impenatrable Thorns.

You forgot the “ Cheesy Players”. Using the Mohg Spear or the Bow n Arrow on the cliffs.

As a mage, it is quite accurate.

I was Strength/Faith for a WHILE but changed to mainly Arcane after beating Bayle so I could use the Incantations with Arcane/Occult Weapons. I'm running Dragon Incantations and Occult Infusion Weapons. I never realized that Occult scales as hard as it does while upping Status but I'm resisting the Bleedmaxxing Lifestyle. 😅

Epic video. I think one worth mentioning is the 'committed to a build for the NG+__' players. I'm on NG+5, and sometimes I have to switch up my build when I get to Leyndell. I think the Big Bonk and Str/Faith are the only builds I can play through the whole main game with, if I try a pure caster or dex/arcane bleed build I'll probably have to switch to a Str or Str/Faith build for Leyndell.

As a player who's primary builds are faith oriented, I'd like to present the "Grey side" of faith builds. It's basically just anything that's godskin, frenzy flame or dragon communion related or adjacent.

I fall into a lot of categories but firstly it is a dark souls 1 style sunbro Strictly buffs and lightning lightning and more lightning it's just what's comfortable and I love being able to square up with almost anything that might smoke my host

I am a stubborn head smasher. I had no idea what I was doing, I had a terrible build, and I had 0 reason to keep going, but I still put what felt like thousands of attempts into bosses I probably wasn't even supposed to be fighting yet. (On my 1st play through)

My character is a bleed build but I can use faith and sorc spells lol

Every time I try something new, sooner or later, I gravitate back to some variation of the strength/faith build. Sometimes just enough strength to carry a greatsword and a decent shield. Sometimes just enough faith to buff my unga bunga. But I usually end up back at the same place.
