I mean, the proximity to cars and the speed he's going at are unsafe. (I'm guessing an ego thing somewhat based on reality) but to be fair he doesn't jump reds or stuff like that.

wrong, safe or unsafe distance is subjective opinion, remember that that's a bicycle not a bike, low weight and high center of gravity gives you an advantage. You can change directions in split second, it all depends on a cyclist... I touch poles, trees with my handlebar daily, when it comes to cars or pedestrians, than I keep my distance safer - I only get to touch them with my elbows occasionally. When it comes to unsafe speed - when you can't maneuver sharp enough, than that would be 60km/h+ that's when high center of gravity works against you. If yall think this is unsafe, just give me GoPro (any donation would be helpful)

This is exactly my problem. I really don't like getting up in the morning or leaving for work in general. So when I do get moving I don't really drive chill I am in an A to B without bs mode. However in a city centre there is a LOT of BS in your way as a cyclist.

As a cyclist I would like to complain about all the bad car/ van drivers, we need at least 2 to 3 meters clearance at all times, just remember we all own the road and we do not cause global warming

Silvio Diego when I cycled I used to only clip in one foot. May have clipped in both feet if no traffic and a very good visibility...

first time I hear about clipping only one foot... doesn't it become uncomfortable pedaling with one foot clipped and other one without?

I use Shimano Multi-Angle release cleats on a loose tension, most panic tugs will usually free them. I've never fallen (touch wood) , came close when I first got them, but they released just in time!

Silvio Diego no discomfort. Do remember to clip in the same foot. Once I forgot I'd decided to clip in my left foot for a change. Luckily, the police car, that was stopped next to me at the red light (before advanced stopped lanes existed), broke my fall 😊

Up to a point. He is confident, and has good bike control, but moves like the head on with a truck are so dependent on what the other guys do. The biggest risk is his weaving, as drivers, even good ones using their mirrors, will look, see no one, then he swerves out from the other side into where they are moving. I'm a confident cyclist and will hold my own, but would not consider half this guys moves, even if I could go that fast.

Gearing ratio is probably different, put either a larger crank, or smaller rear gear block to increase top speed.

in the final bit when I put the music Strava tells me I was doing 25 mph at some point, but was very windy and I completely run out of steam. In other sections we could easily be doing above 26 mph. As far as I know speed limits do not apply to non motor vehicles, but if anyone has any further info happy to discuss.

Technically OK by the letter of the law/code but my view is that to be treated as traffic we should act as traffic. 20 mph zones are put in for safety reasons after all.

Good point! ... drivers do it all the time here in London... and like in the video sometimes cyclists as well... but in my opinion is ver rare, and before government tries to enforce speed limits on cyclists they should do it to drivers, and also make it a requirement to have speedometers on bikes... otherwise how will we know?
