Not enough vids of woods/trail buggys simply out doing fun trail rides like this. Thanks for throwing up this vid! Too many off-the-shelf side-by-sides and no imagination on builds. Both of your buggies look clean and well built. Awesome
Thanks man! I have a few videos of rides on my channel so far! If you like this video check out my channel Adam's buggies and bugs! I love building these things maybe more than ridding! Thanks again for the kind words!
I have a very similar V.W. Powered desert rail buggy I run here in California. My engine is built with a 12:1 compression ratio, only downside is I have to run 110 octane race fuel but it’s fast. It has disk brakes, steering brakes, rack and pinion and power steering, lots of fun.
Mine too! I've had a few buggies over the last 25 years and the last year or so is the only videos I have! Good times! Thanks for watching! I have more videos on my channel if you are interested!
@@Adamsbuggiesandbugs thanks for sharing. I saw another comment praising your efforts to build an off-road vehicle. I think it’s coming back. Mines a Baja bug but I want a rail someday too.
@@Adamsbuggiesandbugs I will do that. FIL got a VW chasis for me and is on the lookout for a transmission and motor. Want to have a functional chasis to take into the school at the start. Not what I was expecting to be doing when I registered for the welding program lol.
Thanks for watching! I run a stock pressure plate and a 4 puck clutch disk, those last for years in a buggy like mine and Kurt's. Kurt's had this blue buggy for about 15 years and only changed his once. I've never had the same buggy that long so I can only go by what I've seen him do. Thanks again for watching and commenting! Check out the rest of my videos if your interested in this kind of stuff!
Mine will pop out of fourth under full load sometimes- so I prevent it by just pulling back on the stick. I am assuming a new trans is in order? Hard to find gears and a PITA to drive with the roller pedal with sandals but is still fun. You think the syncros in the trans are almost done? It’s a real pita to shift because the “ gearing” is so small and “ wierd”.
It could be a few different thing but synchronizer could be one of them or the shift fork in the Trans out of adjustment, or could also be shifter needs adjustment. Thanks for watching!
Mine and the blue buggy have stroked 1600 vw engines that are 2276 now. Thanks for watching and commenting! Check out some of my other videos if you haven't already!
I think a lot of that is because most people don't build things anymore. Most people I know would rather pay a payment and have a warranty than have to work on something when it breaks. Thanks for tuning in I appreciate the comment! If these videos interest you please subscribe! Thanks again!!!
Thanks for watching! This is in Robbinsville NC. Check out some of my other videos if you like this one and consider subscribing to my channel if you haven't already! Thanks again!
Having grown up in southern california, taking a vw sandrail to Glamis and Dumont Dunes, the sound of a straight piped type 1 motor with some RPM is one of my absolute favorites!
@@Adamsbuggiesandbugs No problem guys,, yeah,,rolled"em too. Had trouble bending front end parts, snapped a couple a transaxles right on the snout where I chained it. Rockin a Busa powered china buggy an a compound cummins 12 v in a wrangler. Wish someday too share a trail and a beer with ya.
These are just like any other toy the sky is the limit! You could buy a hole running buggy for 6 to 8 thousand dollars. Or you could spend that same money on a motor! Just depends on what you want. Thanks for watching!!!
@@Adamsbuggiesandbugs huh I’m in Bryson, had no idea there was a trail like this near us. I usually run big Laurel over in Whittier but it’s nothing like that trail in the video!
man that looks more fun than the law allows, i would have me a cooler with some hot dogs on that sucker,or a steak and a chainsaw, shit you boys know how to have fun
