I had a surgical floor supervisor bring me to her office once, to let me know that coworkers stated that I was "a bit too brusk." All I could think was, "You specifically hired me, because you liked my mission oriented tendencies....now, there's a problem with me focussing heavily on the mission and not people's delicate psychies." 🙄 I responded, "I can see how some might feel that way. I'm pretty fresh from an environment, where feewings just didn't factor into the situation. Do you want me to focus on proper patient care or feewings?" She wasn't amused. She also didn't discipline me, so....

When I asked a “non-profit” training center I worked for why a veteran was not in charge of their VA benefits office I was told, “They always try and take over everything.” I didn’t work there much longer.
