I always sand my the edges of the glass because someone once told me it’s seals the edges to prevent runs in the future. Idk. If it’s true or not but it gives me a sense of security! Great video though! I get nervous cutting free hand and alway break out the straight edge lol

I think I heard that about sanding the edges of the glads at one time too, but tens of thousands of pieces of glass in, I can honestly say that I haven’t had enough runs to influence me to do it.

Great video.. could you please add some details in regards to the comment made during your video about sanding the glass, what was meant by that?

Oh I think he was asking because sometimes you get a piece of glass from the glass store and they soften the edges before they give it to the client. I was like, no, we are the glass store. Someone has to handle it before it’s sanded….

@@WoodWindowMakeover Ahhh ok.. i thought it had something to do with reducing the possibility of the glass cracking where a jagged bit is on the edge. Last time i tried putting glass in an old sash timber window frame, i had all kinds of trouble. Every time i went to put the glazing pins in i would crack the glass however gentle i was trying to be. Ended up having to take it to the glass shop to fit, looks like they used silicone between the glass and the frame before using putty.

I have one point driver that cracks the glass every time. It’s crazy because I’ll forget which one it is and use it again because if one reason or another and then kick myself. There has got to be a reason it does that, as sure as there’s a reason your glass kept breaking but I don’t know what it is. I have one point driver that I use now that has an good track record so far but I still, with every point I drive know that this could be the one

What happens if the crown is facing inward, assuming its still properly bedded?

In my experience it’s more likely to break.

@@WoodWindowMakeover break just sitting there or if something hits it? Or high wind? Should I pull the stuff out and redo it, the glazing is still soft.

They didn't crack when I glazed it. If it's in the sash with points is it basically free and clear?
