Japan is so strange when it comes to gyms. They basically want it to be like a sweaty library absolute silence, everyone dressed as modestly as possible, and good luck finding a place with a good amount of weight for a reasonable price if u are even mildly strong if ur not in a major city.

That sounds so cartoonishly Japanese I would not believe it could actually be a part of their gym culture! But now that I think about it, does Japan indeed not have the bodybuilding culture that much of Asia does? China, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia and Indonesia, even Filipinos although that may be more diaspora, some in rest of SE Asia, South Asia coming up a little but fast, West Asia always pretty big. I think it's much less popular in Japan and not increasing much, especially compared to its culturally and geographically close neighbors Korea and China. Also, why are the Japanese so incredibly determined not to reproduce that its imperial family, who as a ceremonial monarchy has its _sole remaining duty_ producing heirs, cannot be bothered to save itself from extinction? I guess everyone reads hentai but no one like sex. Very odd place. But I can't wait to visit; I'm learning Japanese because I hear it's mandatory.
