I want this man and Wim Hof to rule the world. If DragonBall taught me one thing, then that the best people are not only the strongest, but with an undying motivation to help others.
ironically enough the closest comparison I can think of to this that I can think of off the top of my head is _also_ named magnus, magnus midtbø. the guy is "fitness scene" crossed with mister rogers levels of positivity complete with the old "jean luc picard" trick of *knowing* that everyone involved in the situation is important and letting it show in his actions. ^basically Patrick Stewart's opinion on playing Captain Picard was that if he wasn't making the intern passing out water on set feel like they _mattered_ then he wasn't in character yet, it's kinda the founding principle of starfleet so he felt that the character needed to *be* that and it turns out holy HELL does it ever make a difference in a real world workplace.
I think the key thing about the LazyTown show is not only did it appeal to children, but many adults as well. I knew he was in shape, but I never knew that he competed in the Olympics until now. Dude is really a real life Chad
Lazy town was a hell of a show. I'm not sure if it was actually good, but there was just something about it that was... compelling? Also, Stefán Karl Stefánsson was epic.
i never understood how people enjoy working out i was a competitive wrestler for a third of my life and absolutely hated it. all i remember from that time is getting bullied by the stronger wrestlers, getting mocked for being TOO jacked and generally wanting a fucking weight bar to finally be too heavy and crash my neck. and i got therapy since and I tried to get back into shape still more suffering then enjoyment
As a Track and field Decathlete turned Powerlifter and dabbler in strongman as well as a lifelong lover of Strongman, for years I've argued with people that Olympic Shotputters are some of the most powerful and strong humans on the planet. So this makes me SO HAPPY that somebody else sees it!
he's looking 1000x healthier than that dude that's doing everything possible to "prolong" his youth or something, and ends up looking like a vampire in the sunlight.
LMAO you make a bet with your friend. One has to master aerobic gymnastics the other snooker? Wtf? Those aren't similar at all, or remotely close in difficulty level.
Awesome to know he was AND STILL IS a great dude who cared about fitness and was AND STILL IS an inspiration to thousands and probably millions of people! :D
I remember as a kid, thinking Magnus Sheving to be cool. But I wouldn’t fully understand how badass he actually was until years later. Nor did I fully know of Lazy Town’s history either. Lazy Town was my favourite morning show, and Sportacus really was just a wholesome character to hype for and look up. Encouraging discipline and good morals, but also being so kind and understanding to the other characters in the show when they are going through problems. I remember when I found him in other international film media other than Lazy Town. This was in ‘The Spy Next Door’ moving starring Jackie Chan. Did a double take when I realized he was playing the Russian Villain character. But he was so funny in that too, I ended up laughing along. May this man honestly just continue to do good and living a good life throughout his days. Both physically and mentally!
