Not so. I had a guy who kept cranking his Grand Am for about 2 minutes combined, but it wouldn't start because of some stupid immobilizer. Once we reset that, the car started right up and didn't even crank slowly as if the battery was going.
If Honda's engine wasn't shit, Vandoorne and Button would have qualified much better and they wouldn't have been involved with today's incidents. Yes, Honda is still to blame.

Next year : Alonso and Riciardo for Ferrari , Max and Sainz for RedBull , Vettel and Hamilton for Mercedes ( At least 2 of those name are 100% sure , maurizio arrivabene connfirmed Rici pre-contract , and Lauda confirmed pre contract with Seb
2018 confirmed McLaren themselves were the biggest if not only problem all this time. 1) Even with Renault engines they are not only behind RedBull but the slowest of ALL Renault powered teams. 2) Still suffering DNF's (Alonso 3 in a row, Canada, France and Monaco, halted only in Austria by a complete PU change) 3) RedBull picked up Honda and rejected the engine the Renault engine McLaren wanted so much 4) McLarens Renault engine was failing more than Redbull because of the aggressive packaging causing reliability problem. Highlighted most during testing when McLaren was still convinced of their packaging superiority applied it to the Renault PU causing it to fail. 5) McLaren workers have seen the truth with the problem being internal and not Honda and have voiced unrest and contacted Martin Whitmarsh 6) Management is the problem confirmed by departure of Tim Goss and now Eric Boullier. No hiding now, McLaren themselves was the biggest if not only problem all this time. If Honda was the problem they would be winning podiums. Fact is the problem was the car and it remained undetected because of problems with management and their mismanagement of Honda being the true problem. RedBull picking up Honda for both Teams confirms Honda was indeed NOT the Problem.
In their defense: 1) They are still faster than with Honda and faster than Torro Rosso with Honda. The Renault based Mclaren is better than the Honda based mclaren, although not nearly as much as they hoped. 2) Torro Rosso with Honda has more retirements than Mclaren. Renault and Red bull with the Renault engine have similar problems with reliability. 3) Torro Rosso is not really happy with Honda, or at least it should not be. They had that one freak result at Bahrain and that was about it. Red bull did not switch to Honda because they consider it a better engine than Renault, they switched to Honda because they want to be an engine works team. However, yes we can see that the Mclaren chassis overall is not nearly as good as we thought it was.
Blue Dragon If your comment was in Feb18 or Mar18 it may be relevant. Not only is Honda powering 1 team but signed on by RedBull a top 3 team for multiple years aswell as retaining Toro Rosso. Facts are the Honda unit is faster on speed traps and improving at a faster pace than Renault. To stamp any doubt RedBull said they would have won the same podiums and points with Honda today if inside the Redbull.
Its amazing isnt that Mclaren-Honda was such dominating combo between 1988-1991...and now their 4 years together again have been the absolute opposite as one of the worst performing teams, minus Sauber.....
I've persisted and persisted with Honda and made excuses for and forgiven them time after time for their frankly shoddy performance and reliability and to an extent, especially on the earlier engines, fuel consumption but now I'm sick of it. Honda is absolute wank, but their road cars are OK.
