I just love how Ichigo and Kenpachi interact. Like the first time they met kenpachi is wanting ichigo to give him a real fight and he finally does. Then in the arrancar arc ichigo is almost killed and kenpachi comes and saved him. Almost like he was saving ichigo so he could fight him again someday. Then ichigo comes in and repays the debt and saves Kenpachi. It was almost as if Ichigo was making sure that Kenpachi stayed alive since not only did he probably consider him a friend but also because he knew the soul society needed Kenpachi's strength going forward. Then Ichigo just decimating the Bambis was crazy. He finally shows off a new move with the Getsuga Jujisho. Which kinda reminded me of the double getsuga he did in one of the older movies back in the day

Dont forget kenpachi being one of the ones coming perrsonally to the human world when he was given his powers back. Their relationship is quite subtle but it stands out for a reason and i think it goes beyond kenpachi just wanting a good fight again. After all ichigo was the one who managed to trigger kenpachi to awknoledge his zampakutou for the first time.

I like the dynamic between Ichigo and Kenny, both insanely powerful outliers who embody the new generation. This moment was also a nice callback to the reverse situation in the Hueco Mundo arc. I also feel this scene would be a great time to play Number One in the anime, it has that vibe to it, haha!

This was a great moment between them. Ichigo saving Kenpachi given their past is cathartic and solidified what Ichigo was there for. Also Kenpachi being driven to that point pretty much summed up Soul Society's state.

I think one of the greatest bleach scenes is Ichigo’s initial transformation into his fully hollow(vasto lorde form). From the complete despair to the confusion every character was experiencing after White took over. Seeing Ichigo willing himself to protect Orihime no matter what is honestly one of the best scenes for me

I didn't get this till I joined the military, but it's so much more hilarious now Ichigo is a civilian- just a regular guy who happens to be interested. All these shinigami are in a strict, traditional military order; "captain," this, "vice-captain" that Then ichigo shows up like "hey man! Want a soda? Just playing I didn't bring you one" So funny and actually true to life

A great moment for Ichigo. I also really like what happens exactly after that. All the Bambis attack him, he punches each of them and while Meninas mentions that they have been careless Lil Toto denies it saying that it's not true since it's Ichigo Kurosaki which shocks all of them except Candice who's furious that her hair is ruined.

Something I love about this scene is that it actually feels earned. So many things and powers in Anime don't feel earned, but this truly did.

I love this sequence simply because of how he toys with all the Quincies who are out for his head. Ichigo here outclasses everyone who attacks him even if they all do it at once that he could be as cocky as he wants and back it up 100% except he isn't cocky he is humble and nice to everyone there and I think that is what frustrates every single Quincy that showed up to try and take his head. This Ichigo here is prime Ichigo same with the Ichigo who straight up let Yuha hit him several times just to fully awaken his own powers. I am pretty sure that at both points his enemies knew Ichigo could defeat them it is why they either used underhanded methods or simply used the most broken power available to them of course only one of these tactics succeeded lol.

Yeah, there's a certain degree of maturity to his confidence in his battle against the Quincy gang. He recognizes these guys as powerful (I mean, Meninas and Robert did manage to get the drop on him), but he also now fully recognizes his own power, so he can finesse these guys without too much trouble, if he takes stuff a bit seriously.

Ikr, he didn’t remove his eyepatch nor used Shikai.. my guess kubo wanted an epic entry and purpose for ichigo then n there and a way to make the two interact together in a way befitting only them. I’m not complaining, I like it better this way than if zaraki just went ahead n murdered the 4 chicks. This is one of the coolest scenes and a nice change that adds seriousness and state of despair of SS.

This scene makes me think of my experiences in World of Tanks; I’m in a tier X game and I just finished brawling another player. I defeated my enemy but only have a tiny bit of hp left. Then a platoon of full health enemies shows up and ruins my day.

ichigo arriving in this scene felt like a breath of fresh air in a very suffocating situation. a scene i'd be interested in hearing you talk about is the one where orihime says goodbye to ichigo in his bedroom, before being taken away to hueco mundo. more broadly speaking, the whole sequence leading up to that moment, where she has the bracelet that masks her presence, is a very touching part of the story to me for some reason.

Out of all the amazing moments In Bleach.. this will forever be my favorite.. It marked Ichigo finally coming Into his own and becoming the hero or protagonist fully.. and It’s a beautiful full circle moment to when Kenny saved him back In the Aizen arc.. and not to forget what happens right after this.. peak.. peak.

This was indeed a very strong showing of just how far Ichigo had grown and how much he respected and valued Kenpachi's strange, but honest relationship / friendship. My personal favorite scene is and will always be Ichigo saving Rukia, totally destroying Isane, Omeada and Chojiro barehanded and facing up to Byakuya, as Byakuya rushes to him... a little later as he stands up to him again, saying he achieved Bankai. The affront... literally defying SS's laws and tradition which Byakuya held so high and dear... to think a MERE HUMAN had achieved what most Shinigami took tens if not hundreds of years to master. I still get chills from that one - extended - scene. And it culminates with Ichigo shattering Byakuya's sword and conviction's in SS's laws and tradition, truly a turning point for their relationship going forward.

Kubo does like to have his story beats mirror and echo things, it helps remind readers of past events without resorting to flashbacks; and in this particular moment it shows how both Kenapachi and Ichigo have grown in their own ways. It is interesting that Yachiru isn't around to save Kenpachi in this moment because that would be a good place for it, and certainly would be the moment to show off her true power; but instead we're left with a lot of questions why things happened the way they did. My personal theory considering all of the circumstantial evidence, existing mechanics, and how Kubo writes things; is that Yachiru was always an 'imaginary character' made real by Kenpachi. Which is why Yachiru fights an imaginary character, has an imaginary shikai; and why Kenpachi fights someone who's power is imagination.

I feel like a big in-cannon reason for not having Kenpachi activate Nozarashi is that his spiritual pressure is so low at this stage as a result of battling Gremmy and sustaining damage from the Bambi’s. I imagine like Ichigo his zanpakuto is one that consumes immense amounts of spiritual pressure and being presumably the first time he releases his zanpakuto would’ve overused his pressure, even if it is Kenpachi.

I have a feeling that when it shows this exact moment of Ichigo breaking through the barrier, in the distant sky, they'll end up using some sort "sonicboom/breaking the sound barrier" type of sound effect for it. This was definitely a top bleach moment. I'd love to see you talking about the Isshin scene next, where its revealed that he's a shinigami, or the scene in the beginning of the story where Rukia has to leave ichigo to bleed out on the floor while she is returned to soul society. Great stuff

I loved your take on this scene! It is a great uno reverse card to the Tesla and Ichigo scene! I personally loved the chapter where the Wandenreich appeared in the Soul Society, making the then confident and well trained captains to lose the confidence they once had, catching them by surprise and having to reanalyze their strategy on the fly... It fully shows the geographical advantage in a war. I don't remember whether you made a video about this but for me it was one of the best moment!😁

Love the Video and great Opinion too. I think this is one of those Ichigo moments that remain in good memorie and i hope the Anime will expand on it evenfor just a little bit. However, i think that Ichigo might have looked just as confident when he arrived to rescue Rukia after he archieved Bankai, knowing that he is now strong enough to challenge Byakuya and rescue his dear friend. I also think the "playfulness" of him talking to Zaraki is alot more like his eagerness to make Byakuya use his Bankai. When He arrived to fight Aizen, it was more of a serious determination.He knew he could beat Aizen now and he wasnt going to let him get away. I would love to see you make a Video about Renji and Byakuya's ffight in the Soul Society arc, I think that is one of the best moments in early Bleach. The Idea of the stoic and untouchable Byakuya fighting against Renji, who is willing to die here if it means he can help rescue Rukia, is a very powerful moment. Especially the analogy of the Moon and the Monkey.

Having the script flip on the Captains shows how much Ichigo has grown. When I first read TYBW I wasn't as aware of some of the quieter or more subtle moments. Now, I really appreciate it all. And when Kenpachi was defeated by the fake Yhwach, I crumbled. I completely forgot about this event with Kenpachi fighting the Bambis. One of my favorite scenes is when Yamamoto stares down Nanao and she can't even look at him. Sets the tone for how strong Yama is, how strong Kyoraku and Ukitake is, and easy it would have been for Yama to destroy Ichigo if he decided to.

@@justnojustn3036 I honestly don’t think Mayuri is fit to be a captain, especially with how strict the soul society is about literally everything else when it comes to protocols. Rukia was put to death for giving her powers to a human(even though it ultimately saved lives and allowed her to carry out her duty of protecting the living) and then there’s absolutely no repercussions for all the f*cked up stuff mayuri has done and is still doing. The dude hacks his victims apart like lab animals and does all kinds of horrible experiments. And let’s not forget how he drags the dead back from their rest to be used as tools. A character like him being allowed to keep his position shows how corrupt and rotten the soul society can be at times.

There's a difference between corruption and what he is doing. Everything mayuri helps Advance the soul Society in some way. We see In the TYBW how essential he was. He was one of the people holding up the entirety of the Soul Society when it was at its lowest point. Yes he is an absolutely horrible person and should be killed. But for his strength and utility he earned the position wholeheartedly. A good Society cannot exist without a disgusting underbelly . Mayuri is that

A vid I'd be keen on seeing would be. A character dissect with retrospective to the series by what we see by the end of TYBW would be one on Yachiru. Cause by the end she is the zanpaktou spirit of Kenpachi. What stands out though, is unlike other people she is manifested into the real world. Even given a lieutenant position. Not to also mention, multiple times people have mentioned how they didnt even notice she was there when she would land on their shoulder, head, etc. Other than ichigos early training for bankai where Zangetsu as well as the zanpaktou rebellion arc, where they were forecfully manifested you never see this. Yet Yachiru has an on going physical form til the middish point of the TYBW?

I already picture the moment when they're about to deliver the final blow to Ken-Chan and the "Shinigami badge" appears in the sky and a remix of the "Final Getsuga Tenshou theme" starts to play the moment Ichigo is destroying the 6000 layers of barrier in the sky and then break through the Shakonmaku just by flying and proceed to blitz everybody while crashing in the houses. What a G moment for a cliffhanger and just ending the episode with his "Yooo, I came to save you" and Kenpachi smiling in the floor. I'll swear the direction for that episode is going to be insane, Tagushi will break every single week during cour 2.

Two of my favorite scenes are somewhat connected, as they both occur when Ichigo is training with Uruhara. The first is when he learns Zangetsu's name/attack. The second is when Ichigo recalls Urahara's 3 resolutions during his fight with Renji.

My guess is him being pushed that far is probably what allowed him to unlock his bankai etc. fully. My guess is he actually wasn't fully powered at that time and this near death experience was a bit of a zenkai boost thing like saiyans get. That would also explain why he wasn't able to control his bankai. Because an intense situation brought him to it not because he actually naturally learned it. Similar to ichigo when hichigo says something similar in the byakuya fight.

This fight kinda reminds me of something outside of bleach: in JJK, Yuji and Nanami are beating Mahito so hard that he gains a new power. It felt similar I suppose.

This is also one of the funniest scene cause when ichigo first arrive he crashed into a building! And the bambis just watched and wondered and is like they are saying “ what was that?” Candice even said some entrance was that. Then ichigo just curbstomp all 4 of them starting with Candice who happens to be the weakest of the 4 bambis.

Take a notch further ichigo and kenpachi spirit energy was so strong that it took personalities, kenpachi so op that the whole time yachriu was his true sword and she had her own sword,ichigo own quincy powers manifested into a being that's wild and crazy foreshadowing

It reminds me of him saving Rukia in the Soul Society Arc and physically stopping the vice captains by punching them. The smile is almost the same of his where he was holding the fire back with his blade and greeting Rukia.

I felt like in the anime atleast from what I remember, Zaraki was certainly close to dying with nnoitra. Zaraki showed concern for dying in the anime. They played it up as if he had recognized nnoitra as someone worth dying to. Until he realized that he shouldn't for everyone's sake. And used 2 hands. It was surprising that Zaraki even lasted multiple hits from the bambis

Man Kenny vs Gremmy used to be my least fav TYBW fight because I thought it was so stupid how Gremmy didn't imagine a body strong enough to hold Kenny's power but, after reading it again it's one of my fav now because of how freakishly strong Kenny is and what happens with his Bankai.

I think one other reason he didn't release his shikai is because he was panicked about Yachiru disappearing and it contributed to his slower response to the attack since he's no longer at his sharpest

I prefer this, rather than getting Kenpachi to unveil his Bankai at this stage. He got to show his Bankai's strength against someone way more formidable than the Bambis. We don't see Yachiru during this stage. I'm assuming she would come to his aid if he was about to get killed. Maybe she was able to sense Ichigo coming to his aid

I think that the reason why Yachiru didn't come out and give him a power boost is because she thought that he don't need her to deal with the quincy girls since he didn't even remove his eye patch unlike against Gerard when he came aleardy with his eye patch removed.

I just love this scene so much, but would have liked it somewhat expanded and hope they do that in the anime. I would like to see more pages where Ichigo just pummels the Bambis, cause as it is in the manga Ichigo doesn't really have many proper fights. Always the sword broken or he comes too late or simply overpowered. Like he is in this moment when descending I would have loved to have seen just what kind of powerhouse he is. Then it wouldn't feel so bad when he's squashed by ywhach.. This scene really is one of my favorites throughout the whole manga.
