One person posts a video topping their puck with sugar then you have 1000s of sheep copying thinking that’s a good idea, vs just putting it in the cup where it belongs.
in napoli, where the espresso in italy (like pizza) is a religion, the bars do this always, you have to ask without sugar if you don't want sugar... it says "the life is already bitter..."
I literally do. I’ve worked at coffee shops for 4 years now and this is how I do it. I can’t stand when people just have the flavorings at the bottom not stirred in. It takes 15 seconds longer it’s not that bad
Its actually an interesting technique. I'll share that video with my friend who might still be afding 1 sugar in his espresso/cappuccino. To be honest i thought at first the whole video would had been a joke like "Where do you put sugar and when?" and that the answer would simply be "NOWHERE at all, just never!" 😂
I sometimes put the sugar in with the milk, then steam then pour like usual. I felt like I take up a lot of time to stir in the sugar so I started taking this tip from another barista on my team. Don't recommend if you aren't using all the milk in that pour though! I feel like some of that sugar is still in the milk and the guest doesn't truly get that "1 sugar" they asked for
@@ArtistiCoffeeRoasters I do it when I make a coffee for myself and doesn't stick to the bottom at all 😊 by the time I've drunk the whole cup there's nothing left over. The sugar fully dissolves and incorporates itself into the milk when steaming even up to a warm temp (like 40 degrees C) because I'm getting that sweetness with every sip, like you said, same way when you stir the sugar in well with the espresso. Give it a try! I'm curious to know how you think of it 😊
I always ask for no pattern & more foam. I like putting the sugar on top & spooning it off. If I wanted silky milk and coffee, I could make that at home for a third of the price.
What ?? are people too prescious to put their own sugar in these days ? 🤦🏼♀️ As an ex barista, i'm so glad i'm long out of the service industry, it honestly began to make me hate people. This kind of foolery is why, put in your own damn sugar, lazy Karens, no one has time for that 😆
Lol, you do sound burned by the industry 😬 I hope you’re in a better field now. I don’t think that customers necessarily expect the barista to put sugar in their coffee for them, but some will offer as part of the service. I always appreciate when asked (even though I don’t take sugar in my coffee). But baristas might also offer/ask not just to be polite, but probably also for the exact reason as was explained in this video - the sugar can be dissolved and integrated fully into the drink if added first ☕️ and so makes for a better coffee experience than if the customer adds it at the end.
not sure what you are on about, but here in Australia (where the uploader's from) 9 out of 10 cafes will put the sugar for you. Maybe you were a lazy barista
@@lbsyc I dont think so, my partner and i used to make close to 1000 coffees in four hours. I just don't live in a Big city anymore because people demand stupid shit like this 😆✌️
@@oceana3070 And yes, i most definately was burnt out by the service industry. People are super rude, highly demanding and overly entitled these days, i saw the writing on the wall years ago and decided i wanted a better quality of life. I sold my business in Sydney, jumped on a plane for Broome and have since done two degrees and had a beautiful child. I would rather put my head in a blender than serve coffee to people all day. This just made me giggle. That's a hell to the no from me. 😉✌️
Isn’t that a bit difficult, as you would have to know a customers preference upfront. That will never work in a busy shop. With all due respect of course.
