I remember my mom renting me Parisite Eve... I wasn't sure at first but I actually had a lot of fun with it. And it's sad that it's almost like square Was so close to having a Survival horror franchise take off and they really drop the ball

Woah. Woah. Woah. PE2 was COMPLETELY the better game and the movement is so much better. Tank movements is like that of the original trilogy of Star wars... depending when you were born, you either loved ewoks or you hated them. Same with all fixed cameras and tank controls. I defend it with my life.

If you are open to checking PSP games that are batshit in the story but amazing in the gameplay put your eye onto the Final Fantasy Dissida series

Parasite Eve is one of my all time favorites. I play it at least once a year. Getting 300 pieces of junk was tedious, but it's worth it to get an awesome weapon. 😊

Survival horror is very in right now so its a pity they didnt have a remake in development for this game. It would be too late to start one now as by the time it would come out in 3 or 4 years the horror being in thing will likely be over.

Awesome video about this franchise! I always felt Parasite Eve 1 would make for a fantastic remake if done right. Keeping the mechanics the same, but maybe adding some modern twists to it. But keep the tone and art style the same, just update the graphics.

Love SquareSoft. My dad bought and played it back when it came out. It really sparked my interest in NYC and was a sort of guide when I’ve visited- ESPECIALLY THE MUSEUM. I replay it every Christmas/New Years. Really loved it. Thanks for the video!

I remember playing PE2. It was very difficult. I had to buy an entire Memory card just for the games saves. But after taking my dad's advice to learn the mechanics including the controls to my advantage. I remember finally beating it. It also made me never go back to easy mode in games again. Mainly because I would get bored. Who knew I was a glutton for punishment lol.

The first Parasite Eve is still one of my favorite PS1 games. Its ashame the franchise fell off the eay it did. Though still hoping it might get a remake or something

I loved both PE1 and2 games and are among my most favorite games.

Played it for the first time, gameplay aged quite well, the first game could use a resident evil 2 remake type reimagining with third person controls and the ATB combat from FF7R

The first game was one of the coolest experiences I had that generation. I loved pretty much everything about that game and wanted a sequel sooo much. So when it finally came... I was beyond disappointed. It was way too different from the first that I honestly questioned if anybody was even trying to make a proper sequel that'd played the first game. The 3rd Birthday was much improved over the 2nd game and nailed certain aspects, but overall just fell way short. This series deserved so much better.

Not sure how they would even name a remake, given they apparently lost the liscense after the second game to use the Parasite Eve name. They'd have to rebrand any remake/reboot and that likely would only hurt potential sales.

PE is still one of my favorite games to date, the settings, atmosphere, game systems, and story were honestly my FF7 (even though I still played and liked it) compared to most people around that time. Its the number one game I wish they would do a remaster or remake of and NOT change things like the gameplay, though it could use a balance pass as there were a few things that were kinda broken/could be abused. I still never made it through the post-game content as a kid, kinda makes me want to go play it. Even better, getting a PE 1/2 remaster or remake would be amazing, though PE2 controls/gameplay with the weird controls/camera and the more action-ish combat wasn't that great imo. Kinda wish it got a PE1 style remake where there was action combat but with the RPG mechanics more present. And we don't talk about The 3rd Birthday...

I love the first parasite eve, it was like resident evil but just different enough, that could stand on it own to legs, without being copycat, but then made parastie eve 2 which basically just more like resident evil even had mother who like hunk and then story started get weird, i never played the 3rd birthday but boy went even more weird with it.

PE was so much more than resident evil. It didn’t go downhill until they DID try and make a resident evil..

Parasite Eve was pretty popular back then,we used to recommend it on a regular through word of mouth,as well as Fear Effect , Countdown Vampires....etc, they were all playable to us

Parasite Eve was pretty difficult to get even when it came out, nowadays it seems to have a pretty strong cult following, but it seems like 3rd Birthday pretty much killed the franchise which is a shame.

I recently emulated The 3rd Birthday without realizing it was somewhat connected to Parasite Eve!

I'm only very slightly triggered by the amount of times 'Square Enix' was used instead of 'Squaresoft'. 😅Old Square was the king of JRPGs while current Square is a bit so-so IMO; it just... feels wrong... Nice one though--subscription earned!

Man nostalgic AF! I thought the first Parasite Eve was pretty dope, but I agree with you entirely that the controls in the 2nd game kinda ruined it, altho I still forced my way thru it lol. I didn't even know the 3rd game existed BUT I never had a PSP to begin with. The 3rd game looked great tho I'll say that much.

I remember seeing 2 in shops all the time but wasn’t getting 2 without playing 1 to find 1 was never released in the uk. Some dumb decisions back then, and now.

Ah, Parasite Eve! Heard plenty good things about the first game, and the second one seems quite alright too! ...but one could also say the series got the Metroid: Other M treatment for its third game. And unlike Metroid, it didn't get to recover yet.

PE2 is the best of the series. Why? As a horny kid back in the 90s early 00s .that shower scene is something replayeable, especially its near save point.

The 3rd Birthday is a weird one. We get Yvonne Strahovski (Sarah Walker from NBC Chuck, Serena Joy in Hulu's Handmaid Tale and Miranda Lawson from Bioware Mass Effect Trilogy) do Aya (Which is nice), but the gameplay is fucking unbearable. Had this game on my PSPGo and I couldn't understand to What the fuck was going on. 5/10 game.

omg i remember that..playing the originial resident evil then switching back and forth between re and PE (rubs chin hmmm names seems so close almost like a marketing tatic plan) RE & PE only differanct is one letter inbetween QE =Quality Essurance...(rubs chins again another marketing ploy man i was way too young to even figure it out but thanks) 3rd birthday killed PE for sure...
