I hope that it doesn't come to a collapse. My family saw the 1929 collapse, WWII, 1973, 1987, 2008, and now. Being out of debt seems to be the biggest cushion against losing everything. Good Luck, Rick

There could be creative solutions on the part of the government....rooftop gardens..more community gardens....where people can actually work...there is a Mohawk community about an hour from me( here in Quebec),, and they have about 4 football sized gardens....and the produces is shared with everyone..and also delivered to the elders...who are very well taken care of....

i am so happy to have scored 17 1.9 L Jars today for FRee!!!! they are now almost 35$ for 6 in stores in my area. Great jars to dehydrate lots of goodies !!!

Food banks are good for the people who need them. I know too many people who can afford to go to the stores but go to multiple food banks just so they can get free food. I feel they're cheating someone out of a filling meal. When I can donate I give it to someone of my choosing & I know it will be used well.

Things are getting worse and worse here in the USA. I know this is the year that growing food will be crucial to survive the inflation. Its gonna so hot with the EL Nino sp? this year. Im staying on top of watering what little bit of plants I so far have planted. Today I splurged and bought myself 1-dwarf bee balm, 3-miniature rose bushes just to put in a spot that will become my first flower garden.. I never buy anything plant that doesnt give back to me in food and medicine ..but.. I felt the need to add these plants for the beauty they will give me each day.. I can make little bouquets from the roses..Im pretty sure all roses are medicinal but need to double check.. the dwarf bee balm is a bubble gum bright pink to bring in the pollinator's and hummingbirds . I also bought 2-horehound- good size plants. Mine died from the drought a few years ago.. I was sad that I couldn't keep up with everything here with a elderly pup that couldnt keep up with all the work I have here.. I couldnt carrying him around my lawn and he would cry if I left him to him outside.. he passed away last year but he is still with me in my heart wherever I go.. anyhow.. I make my husbands horehound candy plus its a cough suppressant..A big Lovage plant that is a perennial that is a celery substitute.. I will be dehydrating lots of that this year.. A golden oregano ( perennial) heard from another channel that she loves the flavor verses the regular oregano..4-cell pack cabbage and 4-cell celery because mine never sprouted. I have every planter eyed for a vegetable plant..foraging lots this year too!

I live in Canada. The problem for many people is that you can buy and store a lot of dry food, but what happens when your rent doubles (for starters)? As a renter, you will probably lose your place to live and your place to store food before you run out of food.

Toni, we just have to keep our heads down and keep going with our preps. Did 15 pints of strawberry jam, 10 pints of strawberry rhubarb and 6 quarts of beef. Sending love from south eastern Pennsylvania in the States.

I love my garden, I've been out there all day.

I was so sad when my grandson said that he will never have a home of his own. He's probably right, and I have no idea how to help him. Gone are the days of cheap land and few regulations. When my parents came to Canada ( sponsored of course), my father borrowed the money from a relative and bought a small lot, built a tiny home with no insulation, (kitchen and one bedroom, the toilet was an outhouse), got some rabbits, chickens and I remember at 3 years old, helping him plant potatoes. I remember my mother crying a lot, the memory of not even having a nickel for a stamp to send a letter home, would bring her to tears even in her old age.

In Toronto it is the Indian students who are lined up for 2 blocks at the food banks, they are suppose to be self supporting to come to Canada, they are not.

Oh wow Toni. I didn’t know you had to drive to your garden. I sometimes do too, but that’s because after working hard I know I can’t walk back up the mountain without wanting to collapse

Hi Toni - glad you were able to spend some relaxing time in the garden. I too was out spending time digging in the dirt - got 200 celery planted into the big greenhouse. Tomorrow will start getting peppers, egg plant , cherry tomatoes also planted.

Here in the US I recently purchased 2% shelf stable milk $1.25 for a 32 oz carton expiration date 1/ 11/ 25

I have stored away some powdered milk and canned evaporated milk and also have dehydrated and frozen scrambled raw eggs. These will both be good for baking needs or a quick breakfast. Just remember the eggs still need to be cooked.

I just put my first batch of green pepper into the dehydrator and was amazed at how tiny they shrunk. One of my local grocery stores has a cart of discounted produce still in good condition. So I plan to dehydrate anything I can. Got the canning jar gizmo that sucks out the air from the jar. I love my little raised garden and growing bags in my tiny back yard. I too enjoy just popping out the back door for a check on the plants.

I just ordered 2 #10 cans of powered whole eggs, which is 2 lbs apiece. I bought these for protein shakes after work outs. I ordered from a company called camping survival, out of Utah. Price was $37.00 per can. Competitors were $67.00 per can.customer service was great, girl put. .80 tax on order,so I could get free shipping. Looked online and they have all kinds of stuff, medical kits, food, emergency blankets etc. Supposed to be here in the morning.

I purchased the milk from a Dollar Tree Store.

I am not the least bit concerned or worried. It is a wasted emotion. My parents raised us to always be prepared.

My girlfriend and I decided to encourage each other to prep over a year ago. When I realized she wasn't following thru, I stopped bringing up the topic. Her and her husband have since bought a new car, with hefty car payments. Last week she came home from the garden center with a trunk load of flowers, not one vegetable. I am worried about her.

They are building 15 minute cities in the USA. They are building right off the major freeways and they will have communal living. Everyone on a floor will share the kitchen and some will share bathrooms. The space for sleeping will be minimal and every couple of floors will have a living/ rec room combination. Does not sound like something I would like to live in.

Toni does your hubby garden with you? Mine did but kinda lost his love for it so I enlist my grown kids to help and they like it. They all like the food for sure!

Our economy will collapse. No doubt in my mind. Just a matter of when the US dollar goes to 0. It will be worthless. I believe by this yr or the beginning of 25. Probably sooner if our government keeps printing billions of $$$$$$$$$$$ we don’t have. What’s our debt now? I’ve lost track. I’m honestly getting over what our government has done Toni. It’s very sad but good will come out of this after it’s said & done. The US dollar has become the root of all evil. I’m praying & preparing my family. God bless your sweet soul. Otra cosa que esta pasando en España 🇪🇦,si se meten wn tu casa ,no los puedes echar, pasan 2 años hasta el juicio, además tienes que pagarles el agua y la luz , no se las puedes cortar, años hasta que recuperas tu casa y por supuesto estara totalmente destrozada y nadie te paga 😢😢😢😢
