Keeping your squeegee properly stored is a great way to keep them lasting. Either covered, stacked or seperated using soft material.

SteveO The Window Cleaner that works too😋. Much better than just throwing it in the back of a truck like I've seen allot of people do.

Hi Steve, thanks. May I ask why you have modified the excelerator and not used their squeegee handle and blade holder?

Yes better to change more often! ✌️ Especially in spring time when the sun returns. I found the Pulex rubber very good, at a good price. Good video keep em coming

The most basic or the newest best squeegee have blades in common. The blade does the work the handle just holds it.

I’m all residentials. Ettore rubber is top dog, well worth the extra money. Just like anything else in this world, you get what you pay for. I change my rubber as needed, I don’t recycle, because I use a 12” everyday all day. Even if you change out your rubber everday, it’s only $3 compared to at least $750 profit you made that day. I have a friend who spends more time and money worrying about pinching pennies in his window cleaning business, he’s constantly redoing his work all the time. Or looks like an idiot blaming it on the sun. It’s mind boggling, he never once sent me back to do any rework (sub) and asked me what is it that I do and I told him and he said screw that and said “why would I want to spend the extras $10 a day to his $1 a day”. 😂 He’s all about pinching pennies and speed, but does not realize it cost him more. I guess it’s true, cheap people always pay twice. 😊 Good stuff Steveo, keep up the good work. 😊

Fast equals twice, efficient once a 3-5 blade for a 100.00 + job is a no brainier. Store fronts some wear is ok.

J W Do you flip the rubber when it starts to streak ?
@macgyverbryan1377

Race car drivers cut corners, and leave lake Superior on the lower sill. Dirty water, on a dirty sill, to dry dirty. High volume, low quality. Speed. *. Accuracy

I'm from the UK My daily tool is the moermon excelerator fliq I use unger hard rubber , i'v found hard rubber last longer .I once tried ettore rubber I'll never buy it again. It only lasted like a day .where as unger has nearly lasted me a week .

I'm mainly a residential guy, the moment I see a line being left behind it's get flipped or changed, especially in the winter, the sun being lower in the sky shows up more mistakes if there are any.
@macgyverbryan1377

I automatically flip or change the blades for a job over 100.00. unless it was flipped or changed that day.
@kevinjozwiak5696

Here in Northern Mi, about 97% of my work is residential. I used to use a rubber way too long, which would make squeegeeing more strenuous. (I know that is cheap and stupid, but I never had a single call back due to a bad rubber!)By the time I flipped the rubber, the “new” side would usually be aged/nicked/junk. I’ve since got into the habit of flipping my rubber at the end of every day, junking the rubber once it doesn’t glide as easy as I would like or has a nick. Nothing like the feel/ease of a new rubber! Thanks for all your advice!

I feel like my rubber doesn’t have any issues gliding, I don’t see myself missing spots, but I get called back. Definitely wasn’t happening when I first started

hey SteveO, does ettore rubber work in a sorbo channel and in one of your videos if I remember correctly you said you prefer the unger ninja handle 30 degree better than the 40 degree, is that right?
@SteveOthewindowcleaner
@SteveOthewindowcleaner 5 лет назад
Patrick Tribett I prefer the 40 degree ninja handle, ettore round rubber won’t work in sorbo channels but they do make ettore soren rubber which fits in the sorbo channel

Buying longer blades and cutting them down is more cost effective. For example I use 18 12 and 6 inch, so a 36 can be cut in many needed lengths. On any job 100.00 or more I flip or change all used squeeges.

An 18" is always new, recut it once to a smaller size. The third cutting is a 4" detail squeegee size, changed weekly. The 4th cutting is to small itty bitty pieces, including trimmings.

Blackdiamond all day long, i have never had to wear in/condition a BD blade if anything the newer the better (sharper) i get about 4-6 hours work out of a blade on a 14inch i find longer channel lasts longer/does less work. I buy gross my last order has lasted me 2 years. 12x12 of 14,18 and 22 inch soft 432 blades all up, this last year has only been part time if that though.

Awesome, ettore definitely is the worse about sticking to the glass the first few windows before it starts to glide nicely
@SunshinewindowsAu
@SunshinewindowsAu 5 лет назад
@@SteveOthewindowcleaner i havnt used ettore alot i have found a few others like moerman sticky on the glass especially on a pole after a few windows i just went back to BD maybe i should have given them longer.... but then again the BD are just flawless wether its dry, humid, hot or cold.... and in bulk close to half the price of competition. I used to use sorbo alot but not with pivoting handles

What does it mean to flip the rubber ?
@SteveOthewindowcleaner
@SteveOthewindowcleaner 4 года назад
Jonathan to change the side that your using, a squeegee rubber has two sides to it, so once your squeegee is grabbing the glass a lot and not smooth anymore, flip the rubber to the other side to get better results
@macgyverbryan1377
@macgyverbryan1377 4 года назад
Note the logo on the blade. I put the logo up when new, when that's getting worn flip up to the logo side. Once you see the logo that's new blade time.

Change them everyday you don't got money to be buying constantly Robert and Robert we want to make money out there I mean what I do is I flip it over and start cutting it by the ends and I just make another size better than that I mean I'll flip it over the first time if the ends are not that bad and then I start cutting it and making other side squeegees for it
@johndeleon9910
@johndeleon9910 3 года назад
Sorry what I mean is we have money I don't have money to be spending on rubber constantly I mean I want to make money out there not trying to say you're not making money or you don't have money I'm saying that you know will try to work with the rubber the best we can and and use it the best we can then once it's time to throw it out or throw it out

Spoiler alert : when it begins to drag and/or leave water. Lol I don't recycle rubbers at all. I tried pinching the end bits that shred, but never can get em to remain water free once they shred. I change mine as needed. Sometimes I get a month out id one, but my daily users usually don't last much more than a week
