I'll be honest. At first I didn't know where this video was going. Is F Stoppers doing roof repair now? Are they going to hose down a model with the miracle spray? Are you guys doing a shoot for the Baconator? Pleasantly surprised to see you support such a noble cause. Hats off to you gents. Poor kids being in a system like that hits especially hard around Christmas! Capital work gentlemen. GVM lights look fantastic! Very impressive!
Gotta love GVM. They make some of the brightest lights you can get for the money. But the game is changing with the Zhiyun G60 and smallrig RC60B. Small lights are getting ridiculously bright and ridiculously cheap and its only a matter of time before we have pocket sized usb c powered suns 😂
He about had a mental break down at the thought of it. I still haven't given it to him because I was using it for something else... don't worry, I will make this happen!
I have it now but have no idea how I’m going to possibly do this test. I need to buy so much stuff for it since it only has USB C ports and I’m traveling soon so that’s makes it even more difficult. -P
@@FStoppers 😂😂😂 you guys are LITERALLY giving away a $700 usb c hub! Don’t worry Patrick, it will be alright. By Christmas 2024 you will wonder why windows laptops even exist still.
People are going to be really upset when they find out about the new sony global shutter and flash t5 and t1 flash duration . . . all the marketing revolves around "sync flash at any shutter speed" but the reality with flash durations will hit hard.
I can’t wait to try it but we’ve had writers who shot with it during launch with small speed lights and they looks amazing at 1/80,000 shutter or whatever insane shutter it can do. So yes I’m excited to see how much power is lost but I think it’s working better than what most people are saying based on the real word results I’ve seen. -P
You do know that this light since it is a constant light is measured in hours so it is 650 watts/hour, a 200watt strobe like an AD200Pro is measured in seconds so it's 200 watts/second with simple math that would be equivalent to 720,000 watts/hour, (200 watts x 60= 12,000 watts/minutes and 12,000 x 60 = 720,00 watts/hours) if it could be on for that amount of time, which is impossible, but the amount of light in that fraction of a second is much brighter than constant lights , so even at 1/8 power output (which would be similar to the power with HSS at full power) at the same distance as the SD650B it would still outperform it in stills as it would be around 90,000 watts/second 🙂 That said the SD650B is an awesome light to have for video and mixed media as in this case, video and stills, but nobody mentions constant lights as watts per hour although strobes are almost always mentioned in watts per second. It is a very important distinction to make as many newbies have mentioned to me that they have powerful 300 watts or more video light that is brighter than a 200 watts strobe. This is simply because nobody explained to them the difference. Channels with such high subscribers should always mention if a light is watts per hour or watts per second, many new photographers and videographers rely on channels like F Stoppers to make buying decisions. Better yet, you should make a video with both so people can see the difference of why a strobe won't work with videos, or be poorly lit with a strobes modeling lamps vs using a constant light designed for video and vice-versa, how a simple flash of around 80 watts is much brighter for the duration on the shutter speed than any or almost all constant lights unless you get a $100,000 LED 🙂
I think the honest answer is Lee just doesn’t know! F Stoppers are great guys trying hard but not hard on the fundamentals. It’s ok… we love them anyway but I agree that we need more knowledge if you shouldn’t have that many people you influence! 😅
@@AANasseh They are great and love the Lee and Patrick banters, plus when Pye comes over to visit. Been a fan for a few years now, but newbies also watch their channel to learn and make decisions and should be correctly informed 🙂
@@nmelcam1that’s true and that’s why the comment section is so important; so informed people like yourself can add and correct mistakes so the community can benefit collectively! Cheers! 🍻
@@AANasseh true, but you do realize that from all the people that view the video only a few people read the comments. Specially if the video has hundreds of comments people might not even see it. 🙂
@@nmelcam1 That’s true. The best solution would be for creators to consult experts about the validity of their scripts before they lock the script for creating the content. Unfortunately, most people consider themselves experts and intuitively feel the information they provide is adequately researched if it conforms to their own worldview. It’s a challenge and requires due diligence, which in the Wild West social media atmosphere is a rarity. That’s why legacy media was built on verifying before reporting and a mistake required editorial apologies, etc. For better or worse, we live in a different world and anyone with production capability can turn into an expert. There no longer are any gatekeepers…. Which continues to be a double edge sword! 🤷🏻♂️
