YOU BET! When I did my Surgery rotation as a 3rd year med student, one of my attending docs echoed those sentiments about "having it so easy." He told us that as an intern he was required to write out the patient's full H & P on the blackboard in the OR!

The rule at work is that I always have thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. Jokes on them, I’m taking a whole week off to go shake a lemon, a palm, willows, and myrtle; while sitting in a tent. Jewish holidays are weird.

Hi Doc. Schmidt, I've learned recently that substances like Lectins ( present for example in tomatoes seeds ) can cause gut leak syndrome and consequently autoimmune disease. I thought that this subject may interest you: dietary substances that can disrupt the tight juntions of cells in the intestines. Have a great weekend!

Just curious - what is the typical on-call rotation for doctors? I'm on-call in an entirely different line of work so I feel for ya.

Depends on the specialty. Some don't do call at all. Some are on call for a week or more at a time. It also depends on the type of practice.

@erinnorwood6124 A lot don't. There's no such thing as a radiation therapy emergency, to my knowledge. Pathology might not have a conventional call either. Many subspecialties don't do call, for instance mammography for radiology don't have call (although they might cover as generalists in certain practices). Medicine is a huge industry with a large variance in what actual practice looks like.
