Get it contact with me and/or support me directly via my Tazet profile: tazet.com/foureyes I know many of you are waiting for the boosted Mustang video and I’m in the middle of installing the centrifugal now (yes we’ll still turbo it). The format of the boosted Mustang video will mirror this one: install process > tune > race. Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like me to cover and/or do during that video. And as mentioned above, if you have any questions for me or want to support me directly, check out my Tazet profile. These videos are expensive in both time and money, so every little bit helps more than you would think and of course is extremely appreciated. 🙏
Why didn't you add 1.7 rockers? Using the stock rockers is leaving power on the table. I sell Gen 3 rockers which are basically plug&play which should gain you about 20 RWHP. Maybe for another vid? And for Godsake, get some better tires. 888Rs!!

Empty new houses make great filming studios/shop spaces, plus cheaper than commercial real estate. If you don't do service or walk-ins, perfect for custom build work. 🍻
I've always been a huge Viper fan, GTS particularly. I also love that you're very intelligent and informative throughout the whole process. Thank you for your fantastic content and I can't wait to see where this car ends up. Great work!
@@GLblitzer if you even look at the gas pedal wrong in that car, especially in suboptimal conditions, it's going sideways. And you DONT have to be even revving high, it makes so much torque that you can end up going sideways just by giving it a little too much throttle at 2000 rpm.
I love the total unbiased video thats literally specifically about proper power adders and i love how you build the video man. First 10+ min videos that i actually enjoy haha
Right? All motor and just rear wheel drive it has no business to be anywhere near the R8, yet there it is all up in its face spitting venom. Seriously though that is a great combo of parts and a job well done. A propper car tuner level of work good work boys. The viper platform is hands down King of high level freeway racing. There be some monster snakes out there my lads.
@@Corbots80 You are comparing a 2000 viper to a 2017 R8 that is 17 years of technology enhancement. The saying "there is no replacement for displacement" is perfect here. The viper if upgraded to modern specifications (not saying it should be) would smoke the Audi.
You know what I like about this channel? The fact that this is a realistic channel. You have a few vehicles you like, your building them slowly and thinking about the steps thoroughly. This isn't some "look at how much money I have" channel like every other YT channel even though you obviously, most likely, probably make more than the average person. But I can relate to these builds. And i like projects that evolve.
I'm with you on the "throw a bunch of money at a car" channels. It's neat to see someone build something in a couple days because they have enough money to buy everything they need but it's not relatable at all. Most of us are spending months minimum on a build.
Yes, even though I'm a teen, I understand this. I'm building a racing lawn mower from scratch , and it's taken about 2 years now, and it's not even done yet. And the parts cost money ofc, and the troubleshooting ends up costing money too.
Mopar/Viper guy here. Awesome video as usual, I thought the Viper did really well against the Audi considering all the advantages it had. Back in the day, there were a few guys in the Viper scene that achieved 600-650++ whp naturally aspirated so it's certainly possible with the right setup and tune. A personal friend of mine drag raced a '99 RT-10 for a number of years that actually had the engine built by Lingenfelter after leaving Hennessey. It was a super high compression (14.5:1) 545CID that put out somewhere around 850-900 HP and ran a best 1/4 time of 9.43@150+. Pretty cool what the Gen2 engines are still capable of!
That resonator was a good move. It didn’t sound bad before but it definitely sounds a lot better now. I’m a firm believer that everyone should have a resonator of some kind in their exhaust setup.
@@phantomflame0658 absolutely! Their biggest advantage is they also can damper drone pretty significantly which if you want to daily your car, it’s a must have. At some point when I get a downpipe for my car, i’m buying a resonator with it so I can keep my exhaust at a reasonable tone.
Maybe if you go catless but if you have only a cat-back exhaust then you've got to go non-resonated. Resonated cat-backs sound barely different from stock exhaust systems.
Love this channel, doesn't make sense... 265k subs.. drops 5 videos a year. No naked women, no fights, no drama, no fake giveaways, thanks for being you!
@@DCB1209 I think it has to do with the way he nails the educational bits and the exciting bits at the same time. I had a vague understanding of ignition timing before this, but I feel like he really clarified things well in this video, and then the dyno bit was really well done, and then you get an awesome drag race for dessert. All his videos consistently deliver even if they are spread out, you don't want to miss the next one.
Such an underrated channel this is as good as it gets, so informative too! I feel it was selfish to let this masterpiece go unseen, so I will have no choice but to send to everyone I know, gramma better watch this
This video was top tier man. I actually learned a lot and enjoyed watching this from start to finish. Packed all that hard work into a 16 minute video, respect. Great commentator too. Thank you.
I'm in!!! first time watcher, and this is what I'm here for.. thanks for posting a on topic, factual and non nonscense video on the in's and out's of engine tuning. this is the way! thanks!
As much as I'd love a weekly post/monthly post, the amount of knowledge and information you put into your videos is definitely a reason to come back every time! I've re-watched The 3v build more than 5x. Absolutely loving the content!
This is the best video about car, engine... on youtube. No unnecessary talk camera shots just straight ahead to the point, no time waisting. Thank you Sir.
Between the coherent concise explanation of all things in this video, to the chapters detailing specific events. You are making some fantastic content man, you're one of the only youtubers I actually have post notifications turned on for.
The run-through of the power gains from different stages on the dyno chart was truly the best I've seen. Walkthrough explanations, visuals, and doing the math for us was just perfect!
That's awesome! Just raw old school power with zero shits about helping the driver tame it. It's less about tuning a car and more about tuning the feeling it gives you. And everyone's likes it a little different. Banger vid!
The reason the Audi did so well from a dig is because when it's in launch control mode with traction off and in dynamic mode the transmission goes into Amax mode where shifts are incredibly fast and slip with upshift engagement to cause some forward momentum. Amazing video guys love all the quickness and not boring us with too many details!
@@Four_EyesI found that in my Audi A6 which has a torque converter and my friends RS5 which has a DCT the shifts in dynamic are more violent, but they still have feel like they buffer a little on both cars when shifting just to keep things feeling smooth while driving, switching to the paddles in both cars makes the shifts very violent and shifts faster with zero buffer even with the torque converter in my car, likely why when Dustin switched to the paddles in the rolls the R8 performed a lot better.
You honestly might be the best RU-vidr in my opinion. You spend a lot of time and effort into your videos and it shows. Your videos keep me entertained like my child watching those fruits dancing😂. It almost gives a nostalgic feeling, like watching all late 2000s early10s car tv shows when I was a kid with more retainable information. Thank you, I hope to get to build cars like yours someday. Have a good one!
MY GUY! 4 long months I've awaited your valiant return. The content you provide is second to none and I'm NOT GLAZING. You'll blow up soon man, keep it up.
I can't explain how awesome this video is. You show and explain so many intricate things that many other channels do over dozens of videos, in 16 minutes. Amazing.
Videos keeps getting better, i really like the animations of the cylinders, which are also really well made. Also he managed to explain valve timing tune better than anybody with that analogy. They are really entertaining to see, and i talk as one which never ever changed oil even on a scooter.
First time seeing one of your videos.... Instant subscription earned... One of the best car youtube videos I've seen in years, super detailed but not boring at all 10/10.... I live in the UK so will likely never see one of these engines in person and still watched every second of the teardown and rebuild 😂 Great work 👏
Sounds freaking mint with the resonators. It bums me out when people remove them thinking they cause a restriction and end up making their car sound awful.
Thank you for making RU-vid worth it ...thank you for making me love detail now ...only issue is your the only detailed channel this was worth the wait keep it up you will go far 👍🏾👏🏾💪🏾
First time watching your videos and cant wait to watch some more. Thank you for not making a talkshow about a lifestory and actually show us what we are here for. I honestly feel like I can strip and rebuild that engine after watching this. Massive thumbs up to you bro👍👍👍👍
Dude, what a wonderful video. You are the one who deserves to have the car you have because it is like a talented guitarist tuning his guitar perfectly. Take good care of that Viper.
i've never seen your content, but HFS, you didn't lose me for one ADD second with the outstanding pacing and editing! Love the speedrun details of tear down/reassemble. familiar with every piece of the process, but don't need the minutiae to be entertained. well done!
Dude, good driving. To handle a Viper with no traction control has got to be one of the hardest cars to launch. That low end torque is *unusual* and is a fucking beast to manage. Well done man. Even Carroll Shelby had good things to say about the Viper. Baddassest cars for sure
thats the kind of gem i love to find in the internet, absolutely beautiful and useful technical content with glorious engine soundtrack, not a single music, just information, V10s and some on point memes, looking forward for the next content
6:13 Minor mistake made here, but it's a very simple thing to mend that helps a lot when doing future oil changes. ALWAYS lubricate the oil filter gasket with some new oil, if you don't then the gasket will basically fuze to the mating surface. A lubed gasket will still seal fine if properly tightened, while still allowing for some movement whenever you go to remove the old filter. A dry gasket will remain still, as you struggle to untighten the filter with the gasket not moving at all. (Source: 4+ years of experience changing oil on cars for work)
I should also add, while this is probably a trivial thing to most people it is a very simple step to take to save yourself from future struggle when doing regular maintenance on your car. Ask any old gear-head if you should lube the oil filter gasket, they will all give you the same answer (unless they are incompetent)
The way you film and talk about installing everything, is single handedly why i just subbed, fucking amazing my dude. Makes working on cars or watching work being done so much more pleasurable 🤙
I was just gonna jump to the sounds part of the video … skip all of the video but I didn’t after seeing how well you make the tear down process😨 I love how you show everything. Keep it you won a new sub. 👌
@@Four_Eyes Sounds like they're gonna send you something, but since I saw this: torque wrenches are for tightening, not loosening. For loosening, an impact wrench (or, on the cheap or in tight spaces, a breaker bar) is the right tool for the job. I suspect Torque Test Channel will recommend a Milwaukee Fuel 1/2" drive impact wrench. Using a torque wrench as a breaker bar risks compromising its accuracy for the job it's meant for.
@Four_Eyes agreed. It's probably fine what you have to tightening to a spec. But pull of a trigger to remove something like that saves a lot of fuss. Shoot us an address torquetestchannel@gmail.com
well ya see when you gain a tiny bit of muscle mass in your arms and learn not to yeet the steering wheel into oblivion overcorrecting going over an uneven patch of road its quite easy.

The most enjoyable car channel to watch on youtube with the perfect amount of education and entertainment mixed in enough to keep everyone anticipated and interested in watch. Love has satisfying each video feels
The fact that he was able to keep that untamed beast pointed in a straight line while racing from a stop is the most impressive thing that I've seen here. There are PLENTY of vids on YT of people with a lot of car and very little skills sending the car into a ditch or pole or another car.
Thank you YT algorithm for putting this on my feed. I absolutely loved the editing in this video and the visuals to show what goes on in a motor when you were talking about timing, AFR, and so on was really nice as well. Definitely subscribed.
Hi Four Eyes! What a great job you're doing here, I have no words! I love the way you prepared the engine block before putting the head gasket on. All best for you from Poland!
Oh my god, a viper being my favorite car of all time, that shot of the viper in the sunset at about 15 min 20 seconds literally almost brought a tear to my eye. Lmao it was just so perfect on my soul
Such a sick video, great content man! Sorry to say that I think my favorite part was hearing that R8 v10 wailing time after time. Thanks for sharing. 😁
I drive A diesel Volvo (V50) and have no real interest of getting myself any kind of "supercar" like yours but I still love to watch gearheads tune their vehicles... -Great channel! 5/5
