There was though She was trying to avoid the fresh and constant mental comparisons between what ~she~ pays for (a never-ending hellscape) and a quiet, orderly, clean and well stocked ACTUAL place worth living in It’s the opposite logic that I have... I spend so much time at work because I’m lazy at home and don’t have the drive to tidy up. Where she doesn’t want the realization of how horrid her place is by contrast, ~I~ want to have as much time away from my clutter For her it’s not as bad as it really is as long as she doesn’t see how much better a place could be and for me, it’s not so bad if I barely see it at all

With any comedy troupe, it always takes me a while to warm up to a new cast member, but with Brennan... I liked him the first time I saw him. He's my fave. I hope to see more of him.

Yes, it's 6 months later and Brennan is one of the stars of CH! If he's not everyone's #1 favorite CH actor, for most of us he's tied for first place. Even knowing this is a fictional sketch and he's not *really* dating this woman and not *really* at risk of staying in a rat-infested shithole I was tempted to write to Brennan and tell him to dump her because it's just not worth it (also, I don't find the actress very attractive; fictional Brennan can do better).

Yes. Cats will frequently get used to the smell of rats if they've cohabbited for a long time, and will stop chasing them. They'll even go out hunting and bring rats back while ignoring the ones in the house. Also, cats prefer easy food. They'll hunt to maintain skills, and to play while being well fed in other places, but if you're feeding the cat properly, it usually won't eat what it hunts.

The unrealistic thing here is that carbon monoxide rises up in air and collects under the ceiling, which means that the room would have to bee filled with it in order to reach mice or rats on the floor.

haha, I will encourage you to be regular. Just keeping a 5 minute reserved time slot after you wake up to make the bed and do some very basic touch ups makes a wildly different impression when you return home with someone 12 hours later that night. As a college student, my place is fairly basic, but I try to keep it as well organzied as i can and I am lucky to have house mates with good habits.

Because it feels bad to feel that your situatuons are unequal. It makes it feel like the relationship is unequal. Also, spending a lot of time in the other place can make you feel worse about your own place both while you're there and while you're not. If you spend time mostly at your place, even if it's worse, you're not constantly being reminded of that.
