well no, the punchline was that with all of her crazy beliefs she thought his simple concept was nuts. It's a very simple, very overused punchline. Also, him flipping out at the insanity is reasonable, not apathetic. That's the joke, that he goes to extremes to try and help her.

@@HappyLarry. I said I'm glad the punchline was NOT that Brennan just loses it, like if that were how they ended it I would be disappointed. I know what the punchline was. And yes, flipping out is a fair reaction to this level of moon logic but it's also douchey if the person in question is emotionally distraught, and with that being the whole message of the sketch, it's satisfying to see it maintain the conviction to that point instead of decide it's pointless or bad to do anything but shout out people expressing unpalatable beliefs. And while yeah, the punchline's basic skeleton has been written before, the simple fact that you can analyze the anatomy of humor does not intrinsically rob it of its hilarity, so I don't see much point in calling it "overused"

Meanwhile it's... pretty impossible to get a god's wish to get your brother out of car heaven, it's just not grounded (but boy do I wish that it was real) SO they are making assumptions, just one of them has a HUGE CHANCE to actually be right... on a VERY VERY VERY SMALL scale. :') (Btw I don't have his way of thinking and honestly I also grabbed my head when I heard that because I didn't think that it's by any means ''deep''.
