When your synth has 4 oscillators, but one is already powerful enough. (Moog Matriarch Lead) 

Most vintage mono synths had 1 or 2 oscillators, and could sound huge… We are spoiled for having 4 on the Matriarch. I’m always tempted to crank all 4 to 100%, but that just creates a bunch of phasing, so I’m trying to incorporate at least 2 osc for modulation, unless of course I’m using it in 4-voice paraphonic mode

@@NGC0Music Thats a great idea. I'm not proficient enough in the modular aspect yet but it will come soon. I'm just a lifelong drummer turned analog synth obsessed caveman right now. Haha

I know, but I prefer the pitch wheel, as it can be way more expressive. The mod wheel is bound to the LFO frequency. I use the mod wheel for non-pitch modulation though

That’s a guitar track I’ve recorded on that song (I was just jamming with the Matriarch on top of an unfinished idea). I got to finished that song though :)

@@NGC0Music The Matriarch tone and especially your playing are great. It's nice to hear a synth demonstrated by someone who can actually play instead of just twisting knobs.

This is a very simple patch, just one oscilator, bring the resonance up a bit and bring the cutoff back, to add a bit of the moog filter tone, I used a longer delay, so when I would play longer notes, the note would be doubled for a few seconds, making it sound thicker (even though it’s only one oscilator being played), i use a tiny bit of noise as well, to thicken the sound even more, and I have it filtered through the hidden settings on the matriarch (there is a website that lets you visualize and change them via usb on the fly).
