I was digging that Eric Czar. One guy locally, who really inspired me was a brother named Kenny Burch. He played in a fusion band called Orange Lake Drive back in the 80's and 90's. He taught me how to play inharmonics. I believe he's still active. It's hard to believe it will be 5 years since Louis Johnson passed!
Keni Burke is a bad dude on the bass. Yes, that dude is a beast! Wrote some good bass lines too. Great dude! Yes,...Louis Johnson been gone for quite some time now. Bad dude on bass as well. What we can do is,... take from him what's out there and apply it to our learning so we can execute some newer grooves for the future. At least that's what I try to do.
Gerald Albright is a beast on bass!!! Yeah, so many bassists deserve wider recognition. Robert Vizvari (Eugen Botos), Keni Burke, Paris "Pee Wee" Ford, Dexter Redding(The Reddings), Darryl K. Roberts(Mighty Fire), Uriah Duffy, and Lequeint "Duke" Jobe (Rose Royce) are just the tip of the iceberg.

What do you think of the Ibanez SR300E and the Tamaha TRBX304 Coop? Have you played them? Done a video on them. Not a big budget available. I have a Squire by Fender Jazz Bass, a 5 String Ibanez GSR205 and 6 string Alvarez which needs work. Appreciate the advice from a true Pro🎸🎼🎸🎹🎸🎶 Thanks Russell
Big Russell,...not a fan of the "SOUNDGEAR" basses. Yamaha's? I don't care too much for, but I had a few. They have strong preamps but to me,...there's something missing in their sound. Just to me. Now, you have a Squier Jazz. Man, I am a Jazz-a-holic. No lie. I could eat jazz basses for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lol! That squier jazz bass you have, in my book is a keeper. Don't sell it. Don't trade it. If you do,...you're gonna regret it. (smiles). Now, that GSR205. No!, sell it. Trade it. Get a 5 string Squier jazz bass. Get that GSR205 out of your house (Lol). It's a distraction. The Alvarez, cut that one loose too. Squier Jazz bass,...Yeah! That's the move. Now, to even help you more along the way. And I am serious about what I am about to say to you. Get you a "GK!" MB115 combo. Believe me. That squier jazz and the "GK!" combo is going to be all that you need. I dare you to try it. Get back to me as soon as possible. I'll be waiting for your response. : )

@@11coopbasscooper55 years ago Stanley Clarke and George Duke were headlining at the Tower. Some group named Jeff Lorber Fusion were opening. I was like bunk them, Ima go late just to see Stanley. Thank God I didn't. Jeff Lorber and his band KILLED it, ya hear me? Danny Wilson had a black MusicMan with a mirrored pickguard, so everytime the spotlight hit it, it reflected a beam of light back into the audience. It was awesome, not to mention some of the funkiest bass playing I had ever heard or seen in my young life. Went out the next day and bought all their LP's, WIzard Island was one of them and I think Galaxian was another, check them out if you can.
Yes Sir! Once again. He has a name for himself. People know him well. I'm talking about the "NO NAME" musicians that can "BLOW" the instrument away that only have "RU-vid" as an audience. It's a "SILVER STAR" 5 string bass. It's a Korean bass. Silver Star is a brand name of the Korean Un Sung Musical Instrument Company, founded in 1987. Un Sung also make instruments for export under other brandnames, producing around 50,000 electric guitars every year. In 2004 the Un Sung company employed around 160 staff, with exports worth $11,600,00. But, the company was forced to go out of business. If you only knew what companies they use to build for you wouldn't believe it. (Lol).
