Fedor would get killed Within 1 round on his prime AgAnist either stipe or DC Cro crop is Croatian so is stipe & he will tell you stipe is the best Well him. & DC
Absolutely bigger than Miocic vs DC. But biggest? I'd go with Nog vs Fedor 1 and 2. Both were the most dominant HW back then. Crocop lost to Randleman and Nog as well.
I’m a D.C. fan, but Stipe adjustments in the second round of their second fight was nothing short of phenomenal! Maybe even the greatest comeback in a championship match in ufc history......
Tony Parker I’m a stipe fan Eye poles aside The two best ever they would beat anyone that ever was a mma hvy champ period! Those two & everyone else! DC was better then Cain Cain got hurt then exposes Cain was never better at DC at HVY weight He had never lost No matter who wins the two greatest end of story! To argue is to not know mma!! Maybe Francis down the road Will see
Goggles won't be enough for Stipe. I think he will need to wear one of those huge IRON DIVER'S HELMETS from 100 years ago. Even that might not be able to stop DC's massive sausage fingers.
@@courage-3954 So you are saying Stipe was using excuses because he was afraid to fight a guy he already finished while he had a torn retina that required surgery? Wow, the idiocy of that statement is truly astonishing.
Stipe had eye problems long before he took a poke from DC lol Hes gonn get knocked out cold for the second time and then DC will retire and then Stipe can fight Ngannou for the vacant title and get knocked out cold again.
@@chriswilson1968 If Stipe had eye problems, they were no doubt caused by the previous times DC poked him. Your comment only refers to a singular DC eye poke. It should say "pokes." But I don't even know why I am entertaining your imbecilic comment. We know that Stipe's retina was NOT TORN prior to the second fight.
Uncle Chael your wrong, to quote my boy GameBred, the fact DC never got past Francis N, and never even plans on trying to, automatically makes the trilogy fight super unnecessary
I don't think I'll ever forget those Cain Velasquez VS Junior Cigano Dos Santos fights. When Junior knocked Cain out I couldn't believe it! Then comes the rematch and Cain had one of the greatest performances I've ever seen! Good times
Fedor vs Crocop is the biggest fight in MMA HW history. Stipe vs. Jon Jones could rival it. Sure, Stipe vs. Cormier is a big time fight, no argument here.
Well. I am not so sure. Fedor vs Minotaur 1 and Fedor vs Cro Cop. These two were biggest fights of HW history. The anticipation for these 2 fights was amazing. Stipe vs Jones could be close to these but not the same level because Fedor and Minotaur were unbeatable prior to their fight and Stipe is not on that level. He lost few fights already. That being said Stipe vs Jones cannot rival it. My opinion is.. The biggest HW fight all time is Fedor vs Minotaur 1.
@@jonbonesmahomes7472 That is a fine argument, but not enough to convince me that Fedor vs Cro Cop isn't the greatest heavyweight fight of all-time. And while Stipe has lost, that's true, his resume at heavyweight is impressive being a multiple time UFC champion who has defended the strap a record number of times in the worlds premiere organization. The strength of schedule that Stipe has faced speaks for itself too, we're talking a murderer's row of the best MMA fighters in the world. With Jones being one of the best if not the greatest fighter of all-time... and we're cooking with gasoline here my friend.
Damn, all this hate on DC. Come on guys. One of the greatest to ever wrap that belt around his waist. A straight up dog, good guy, great athlete. And oh yeah, pushed Stipe to his limits in the second fight, forcing Stipe to adjust as all great champs do. Time to see who the better champ is. But I can’t lie.... those sausage finger comments got me lmao
I think DC, the former double champ vs the most accomplished heavyweight in Stipe is more historical. Lesnar vs Mir remains 1-1, tied essentially. Whereas DC vs Stipe 3 is the tie-breaker, the decisive moment.
Robert B I think Lesnar mir 2 was the biggest but DC Stipe 3 could end up being bigger. Im just shocked that Chael mentioned the Overeem fight and not UFC 100.
The Tony Furgeson comments have vanished. So sad how he took the loss. Tony Ferguson is the type of guy to be one of the greatest fighters we've ever seen :(
@@matijagrguric6490 Overeem, Hunt, and Werdum are all ex Pride fighters who remained in the UFC HW top 10 for years past their prime. Of all the divisions in mma, HW is the one that has progressed the least over the years.
Trouser Troll The cage is 31% smaller than the normal one, that’s a very big advantage for DC who plans to just outwrestle Stipe so yeah even Stipe says it’s a problem
Looks like Las Vegas will close again due to the #PlannedDemic that kills less than 1 out of a 1000. This means "fight island baby" and a full-sized cage!
The defendingest heavyweight champ of all time vs the most legendary heavyweight champ off all time breaking the tie. Greatest heavyweight match to date, and it's on my birthday!
@@kagisomabele4936 Why do you hope Stipe doesn't knock out DC? DC has a reputation as a cheater who eye pokes and grabbed a towel to make weight. Why would you be a fan of a guy like that?
@@user-dr7uu8ct4l Oh come on man drop the hate.. You focus on like 2 negatives when the man deserves props, he's a legend of the sport. This should be Jones vs Stipe but we get DC because he's the only one with the balls to step up
@@user-dr7uu8ct4l Well then I hope you are against people being fans of McGregor.. He is a far worse cheater with illegal knee's, assaults on the streets and much much more.. But im sure you people are 2 faced
I can't agree with cain being the most intimidating athlete in the history of combat sports...i don't see him being more intimidating than Tyson or Fedor. I think more People are afraid of being completely knocked out cold rather than wrestled and ground and pounded...but i could be wrong.
Honestly people need to watch how terrifying Igor Vovchanchyn was, I swear hardest puncher I ever saw even Ngannou and Carwin didn't KO guys as often or big. For a 5'8 guy to just tear off people's heads was terrifying. Then again can't argue against Fedor's ice cold merciless beat downs.
What bothers me even more about the trilogy fight, than the fact, DC was never forced to fight Francis before getting a rematch/trilogy fight. Is that DC was allowed to get a padded title defense, against a clearly not ready for a title bout Derrick Lewis, instead of being forced to give the proven Champ who successfully defended the title several times, an immediate rematch. Which makes forcing DC to get past Francis N before the trilogy fight even more justified
Stipe VS Cornier is with a doubt the biggest heavyweight UFC fight ever. However, because of all the turmoil and current events in the country/world ... many people will still not be paying attention to sports or the UFC even in August, so the numbers will not be what the would in a normal situation. Also, with people be out of a job for several months ... $80 for fight PPV isn’t going to be a priority for most people.
I'm genuinely concerned that because of the importance of this fight, that DC's level of desperation could lead to Stipe legit losing one or both his eyes 😟
@TAKEDOWNit's not even so much the ref as it is just how fknin GRIMEY dc is about them. But i do hope the ref takes a point as soon as there's any physical mark left. I rlly dnt wanna see him scratch the poor dudes goddamn eye out 😬
Maybe most fight generate money it's not necessarily means its interesting match Mayweather vs connor it generated enough and was big but was popular more than it most happened ... Maybe there most be 2 criteria one for popularity and one for critics and actual fighting community
Personally in my opinion (despite the time, numbers, and organization) the biggest heavyweight title fight in history was Fedor vs Cro Cop even though it ended by decision and whatever else you want to throw on top I thought it was AMAZING because at the time it was like two mythical gods fighting.
I agree about the fight a lot of people don't think of was Fedor vs arlovski. I remember affliction being pretty dam big at that time and a lot of people including me and my friends thought that arlovski could be the guy to dethrone Fedor. He was one of the scariest looking guys in history. He had the speed, power, tenacity etc. And he was doing very well. Hurt Fedor and backed him up to the corner and then boom. Went for a flying knee or something and met a Fedor overhand while in mid air that knocked him out cold. Everyone in my school was talking about that for a while
I think it is the biggest. DC is one of the first double champs, would be a top 3 goat if it wasn't for Jones. Stipe was considered the greatest heavyweight ever just before fighting DC by having the most title defences ever.
Nah this one has some more back and forth to it. I mean hell DC was on his way to retirement in that second one. I mean he was on track to the most meaningful win of his career and then stipe said "put the brake down boi this isn't over" both in terms of the fight and this chapter in their careers. I'm very interested in this 3rd fight.
Fedor vs CroCop is the biggest and most important fight in MMA probably. So when discussing heavyweights, that is by far the greatest fight of all time
Lesnar vs Mir 2 Undisputed vs Interim Rematch of a classic fight Bad blood Nothing gets bigger than that. And a close 2nd is the trilogy between Cain Velasquez vs Junior Dos Santos
I think it is. We have to see who really is #1. Also honorable mention to Fedor vs Nogueira 3. That fight solidified who was the best heavyweight in pride.
Even though Stipe beat the shit out of Francis N in their first fight, a Stipe vs Francis N rematch makes more sense. Because Francis N was rightfully forced to fight his way back into contention. Whereas, DC was allowed to get a padded title defense, before giving Stipe his more than deserving rematch, only to lose, and immediately start crying about a trilogy fight, while never doing anything close to fighting to prove he deserved the trilogy. All his Dana White KissAss had to do was cry about it to get what he wanted
DC KO Stipe and was winning most of the 2nd fight. Of course he deserves a 3rd fight. Heavyweight is so fucking weak division so if a big fight like this materialize you make it
That's exactly why this trilogy fight isn't necessary!! DC is intentionally going into it, saying its his last fight, to avoid ever having to face the recently emerging true #1 contender, Francis N. The only way the trilogy fight truly became necessary, is if DC got past Francis N first. The fact that didn't happen, and the fact DC will never defend the title against Francis even if he did somehow eye poke his way past Stipe again. Automatically makes this fight super unnecessary
I feel like either way Stipe v Ngannou 2 is gonna happen. If DC wins he’s gonna vacate and the fight for the vacant belt will mostly likely be Stipe & Ngannou again
I’ve seen some argue that Stipe lost the first fight because he wasn’t fully recovered from the Francis fight. Obviously he won the Francis fight pretty handedly but he did eat a couple of big shots from Francis. Do you think that played any kind of factor?
I think stipe getting poked in the left eye right before Daniel threw a left hook was a a bigger factor of why he went out because the punches you don’t see coming are the ones that KO you like that
The eye pokes were honestly unlucky. I'm surprised it hasn't happened for DC's whole career. When I watched DC vs Big foot Silva he had his arms/fingers outstretched the same way.
Lesnar and Reem, was in December on July. Also, shouldn't really be on this list. Lesnar vs Mir 2 and Lesnar vs Carwin were way bigger fights at the time they happened. Cro Cop vs Emelianenko was huge. As well as Fedor vs Noguiera also. Plus Jds vs Cain 2 and 3 were big. Not to mention Miocic vs Cormier 1 and 2. But tbf, the 3rd fight might well just be the biggest heavyweight fight in mma history. Almost certainly ufc history. One of my personal favourites that never get mentioned and is not in contention for biggest fights ever, but what really got me hooked in mma was Randy Couture vs Pedro Rizzo 1. Classic.
