@@mitchelleroberson It's a Ramadan meme. Ramadan is the Muslim month of fasting, however, if one eats or drinks by mistake/forgetfully, it is considered to be forgiven. Now, to the actual meme. A caller told a Sheikh (ask-and-I'll-answer guy in Islam) that he accidentally fell and then somehow ate a shawarma with extra tahini, a slice of apple and 3 litres of water. He then asked if he should continue fasting or not. The Sheikh responded by leaving a gap between his lips and staring at the camera in confusion while blinking. The clip went viral throughout the Muslim internet community and is still widely shared in the final days before Ramadan and the first days of Ramadan itself.
@GeorgieFl0ydCantBreatheDidn’t ask + get reported even though RU-vid probably has better things to do than deal with those that make the platform smell bad.
Do you eat with your hands though? I would starve if I had to just grab a handful of wet food to shove in my gullet. This is sensory-processing issues and not me thinking I'm better than anyone. I just couldn't grab a handful of rice and then put it in my mouth.
@ChristinaFromRU-vid Yes, we do, and I understand your point of view, I, for one, can't imagine myself eating with chop sticks (partly because I don't think my hands are dexterous enough😅). However, I think that's mostly due to cultural differences and biases rather than anything else.
Back in 2022 I was like "Ramadan already? Where is this year going!?" Now in 2024 I'm like "wow, Ramadan hasn't come and gone yet? This year is dragging on like crazy!" (For the record I'm not Muslim, just aware of the holidays)
@@king0vitrialthe perception of time depends on your personal life. Before the pandemic I had a pretty good view of time and how it passes (events came and went as expected), but after being indoors for 2+ years, I didn’t even realize Ramadan is near.
It's surprising to me that people associate TikTok with any specific kind of content. You realize one of the main strengths of the platform and what makes it so addictive is that they're extremely good a catering content to exactly what you enjoy. If you enjoy motivational videos you'll get that, if you enjoy food videos you'll get that, if you enjoy memes you'll get that.
Ok so from an explanation i got from another video, apparently the reasoning he said it is because he's mocking Muslims who keep telling themselves they love their religion, their prophet, but their heart sways. If there's anyone who had seen the lecture, please fix me if I was wrong. Also Ramadan is soon, so happy Ramadan guys, keep praying for Palestine :] edit: went back to check the video and listen properly, and it seems i was right. the context basically ones who say thing, follow things, but they don't actually mean it. they're simply doing it because others are doing it.

Last thing I expected was Hoblos to become a meme. He's quite a motivational speaker. As a Muslim I enjoy his talks. He's very passionate and serious but still makes jokes to lighten the situation.
"Halal meme" not sure how halal or honorable it is to constantly clown around and laugh much as we do, brother. Not saying it's haram to have fun and crack innocent jokes every now and then, but not everything is either halal or haram. Sometimes we have to consider things like honor and dignity and think wether something is dignified or just clownish or maybe even utterly honorless. The prophet teached us to avoid uncertain things to protect our face, faith and honor.
As a Muslim, I'm so surprised this has gone viral. NEVER IN MY LIFE would I have thought that an Islamic lecture would go viral but here we are. Masha'Allah

@@mryapperton5000 as a muslim, our modern sheikhs and imams unfortunately are not educated properly. To be a sheikh or an imam in the days of the prophet and islamic golden era you had to be one of the most educated and enterprising people around, nowadays you just have to know a few surahs by heart.
Watched this lecture a while ago. It's funny to see it bounce back. As for the context of lecture and what he was saying in the moment is about Muslims not wanting to fulfil what is required of them by picking and choose what they like from Islam. When they should be more devoted. Eating from the floor is not what we do but of course in difficult times. Would appreciate you listen to the whole lecture and not pick out 2 minutes to say that he promoting to eat of the floor
I actually agree with the Muslim chap. I visited Tottenham mosque in years past on the eid feast thingy. All sat on the floor. Carpet up the middle with people on either side. It was a brilliant experience. But many young Muslims were picky and "urgh" 😅

@@UCannotDefeatMyShmeat sometimes these comments are a little too abundant to the point of being unavoidable, I guess hating Islam pretty much has been generalized by the situation in Western Europe, Middle East, North Africa, that september 2001, and especially ter(🥶)rist groups like the Islamic State that claims they're "Muslims" despite everything they do being against Islam's rules Like I said, can't go an islam-related video without some mf barking "grrr Islam bad" thinking they'll "save Europe" or something, but you're definitely right about simply just enjoying the meme and moving on to the next one But since I'm just yet another Muslim you can see why I'm offended lol
Mohammed Hoblos did not say weird stuff about "SA"(Sexual abuse) when he compared a Muslim who neglected prayer to be worse than the Muslims who rape. His message was never, not even a 1% leaning towards saying SA is to be seen as anything less atrocious; rather, he was proving a point on how essential it is as a deed for Muslims to pray, that if you, a Muslim neglected prayer, it is worse for you than you being a rapist. This is a good message and is formulated as such to provide a shock factor (Mohammed Hoblos's unique style of lectures is him providing a shock factor to make Muslims want to improve themselves). I hope you can take back your statement about Mohammed Hoblos saying "weird things about SA" because this is spreading a bad message about him. He is a very good man who is an example for many people in his character, and it is a shame that so many people look down upon his lectures because they don't like how he raises his voice and scares the audience (even though it helps a lot and causes revolutions in the hearts of certain other Muslims to pursue self-betterment) Sexual assault is a prosecutable and punishable crime in Islam, while not praying is not. The difference is in the fact that sexual assault infringes on the rights of your fellow man, hence the punishment of this world. The painful price for neglecting the prayer comes in the Hereafter, and whatever suffering is in this world pales in comparison to the Fire. Basically, even the death sentence or whipping is preferable to suffering the wrath of Allah.

Even when there is a rightful cause for criticisim of islam in its more backwards non secular 600s form of practice as in Iran or Saudi Arabia, some take it too far, sadly.
He isn't a celebrity preacher. He is an Islamic lecturer and motivational personality with firm faith. He is not mocking anyone or making fun of them. He is trying to carry the message of how we reject religion and its true roots because we want to be socially acceptable and appear "modern" and so we insult our true religion by saying things like "uhhhh what's that brother? " as a reply to any pious person or religious person motivating us to practice religion in its pure form... he wasn't making jokes nor making fun of anyone in this talk.
