I was an accountant until I discovered Matt’s offroad recovery! I don’t have time to work now as there are too many excellent videos to watch. For us Brits everything in southern Utah is so different. Most SUVs here only get used offroad on the grass in the Walmart parking lot so your sand, mud, snow etc is very unusual. As for 40C+ temperatures, that’s as hot as my brother gets in the Central African Republic. Thank you so much for hours of entertainment. I am now the proud owner of an autographed Banana.

Re: humidity. I'm from Missouri and used to work for a company that was headquartered in Salt Lake City. When some Utah folks came to visit our office in St Louis in summer they couldn't believe how thick and wet the air was here. "How do you breathe this stuff?" if they they asked. No dry heat here, 100F and 90% humidity. Love the videos!

Just the right calculation: if nothing bad will happen - wait for daylight and a rested crew. If something bad could happen, then work through the night to make sure it doesn't. In effect you're one of the area emergency responders - well done!

Video is about how most of youtube viewers don't realize how night time rough river crossing was shortest yet hands-down most dangerous part of entire video. I can see how the car can be easily swept away down the river and turned over. Matt, hope you conduct trainings of emergency evacuation out of a vehicle to your stuff. When car gets swept by the stream to depth, water mass prevent door from opening and evacuation is possible though windows only. People get drown if they haven't had opened windows.

Yeah, and it was a great day as the suv job was an insurance claim job, and Rudi got extra tow on his way to a recovery. ☺ I wonder what MORR charge for those chance rescues? Probably standard fare. Very entertaining, with a very good camera crew .

Rudy and Lizzy out all night. Great of Rudy to call a customer contact to let them know Lizzy and he were on their way. Really a tough recovery with crossing a river and then some of the softest sand we have seen in sometime. The Morvair had a hard pull for sure. Rudy eating bugs, Lizzy had a few herself, and then out all night long. Great team pull. Couldn't ask for a better job.

They must be so pre-occupied with mounting, turning on, turning off, checking battery life of at least 3-4 GoPros for every recovery, not to mention a drone in the sky, I'm amazed that they can still get each recovery done. Kudos for being able to multi task without one task getting in the way of the other. Very impressive.

@@d-baserox2773 They've talked about this before, that their recoveries are all out of order, for various reasons. They also cover a large geographic area, so they might be doing a recovery where it's 80° and sunny, and then drive a few hours north in the mountains where it's 30° and snowing.

On my honeymoon we took a Mazda 3 offroading in places like this in New Mexico. More than once we had to get out and evaluate if we could blast through the sandy sections. We only had to turn around a few times, and we made it to almost every place we wanted, all without getting stuck. Fun times!

I think it only adds to his charisma and ultimately is a huge benefit, but all too often is seen as a negative in the professional world. But also this quote just made me laugh the way he said it. It was the underlying “oh god this looks bad” but it a funny and honest sort of way. I’m not really sure how to quantify it, but it just feels very relatable

I moved 16 years ago from Philadelphia to Central Texas. I always found it hilarious when people would complain about 50% humidity. But I've lived here long enough to go soft. I complain about it too now.

normal humidity is supposed to be 30-60%. right now in my house in PA it is 45% humidity, and i feel that the air is too dry!

Lol I live south FL and the humidity never gets below 50% , we just had a cold front come thru and it rained for 3 days off and on , today it's 69 degrees but the humidity is 56 % lol. My summers never get below 80 % lol.

So as for that Mustang....honestly I'm impressed that he actually made it that far in. Must be the posi rear diff that took him in until it couldn't. But the guy in the Hyundai most likely has a better story...hope he's alright. So for every recovery there is a good ending for the customer....the rig is not left for dead out somewhere, and a good and decent crew like Matt's helped bring it to a finale. Great job as always.

When I lived in S.W. Arizona, we used to call that soft stuff "Moon Dust". When you walk in it, it puffs out and sort of defies gravity the way it is soo light. I've seen it clog air filters in just a short amount of time.

How about the guy in the Jeep pulling a trailer in that bug-dust, alone, and at night? I am always out riding my quad or dirt bike alone, I just know when to call it quits. One thing that I DO though, is that I carry a Personal Locater Beacon. The places that I ride have poor cell reception.

I don’t know who came up with the idea to make and use the Matt’s off road license plate, but it’s brilliant. A great way to brand and market your business, AND eliminate the need to edit out the actual vehicle license plate for privacy purposes.

just in case ppl don't understand, Matt went to the axle on the Moorvair instead of hitch, to keep rope angle low, as to not damage the Ground Effects front spoiler on Mustang those front ends seem to be the weak points on most Side by Sides Much respect to Rudy and Lizzy

Not so much a week point but what they land on when people launch them over dunes and find nothing but air on the other side. You can only make a ball joint so strong.

Especially down there at Sand Hollow you have to keep a fair bit of speed to keep on top of that extremely soft sand. Depending on the time of day the dunes can be hard to read, especially if you don't have a lot of experience. It's easy to get a lot of unintentional air, not necessarily flying anything resembling straight and level. You can easily end up landing nose first on one wheel at an angle, which results in an a much harder impact than you would think. The wheels just dig in and you often see the rig tumble end over end a few times if you're unlucky, or broken front end components if you're lucky.

@@nix4644 Most likely this is what happened- loss of control and came down backwards. No soil is disturbed beneath it and the scratches indicate the direction of travel. A low powered FWD, even AWD would not have the ability or clearance to go UP those rocks. Alternatively, it could have been stolen and intentionally rolled down that embankment. It wasn't even plated yet although the deployment of airbags suggest there was weight on the seat(s) at the time of the incident. Probably just backed up too far and slid down.

@@UTAH100 Pretty sure the older gentleman they talked too was the owner. it was plated, Matt's team put's a fake plate over vehicles they have on video. Trevor is seen doing this in some earlier videos. Seeing as this was next to a highway, an accident makes the most logical sense. Based on the hill Rudy fell down, this vehicle probably wouldn't have rolled as far as it did down that hill without significant momentum. Once the vehicle turned backwards, it loses a significant amount of breaking force as most of the braking force is provided by the front tires. The rear of the vehicle drug the rest of it down with it. All an educated guess.

Trevor - if you want to brag about "50% humidity" - try talking about the dew point or the heat index instead. This conveys the same information and SOUNDS way more impressive.

@@rupe53 - That's actually my very point. People can "relate" to humidity - meaning they think they know what it means -- but Trevor was getting picked on for this - because people can "relate" to it. Heat index, on the other hand - is also easy to understand - and sounds more impressive. 50% humidity at 80 degrees only adds a degree or two to the heat index. The same percentage at 100 degrees can add close to 20 degrees to the heat index and can push it from "caution" into the "danger zone." A 50% humidity day in Utah over 100 degrees would be a dew point of 90-97. Which is pretty close (joke intended) to 100% humidity at 90 or 97 degrees. Heat Index is probably the best choice to get the message across. Dew point is the best choice if you want people to be confused -- and confused people can't make fun of Trevor.

I Love your Show. I go to sleep at night watching reruns of episodes hearing familiar voices in my silent home other wise at night. I cant tell you how many times i had dreams about going on Rescue's Hearing your show while i sleep. Very soothing and makes me feel secure like living with family. Ive gone alot of runs via dreams in the last year and a half watching. I guess subconsciously i really enjoyed it. Because i can almost dream riding along on command.
