To add to the discussion, because it wasnt explicitly stated: Necas wants to play center. Rod will not play him as center because hes not good defensively snd hes not good with faceoffs. Id love to keep Necas, but if he wants to play center, unfortunately it'll be elsewhere. He's an extremely good puck handler, so he'll be a good asset on any team who gets him.

As a Winnipeg fan, watching the team continually under use and misuse Ehlers(and others)was frustrating. It definitely was hard to get pumped up at the beginning of last year. Everyone panicking about the drop to %84 attendance. Nobody asked why the fans were turned off. Tone deaf billionaire owner saying he is going to move the team after jacking the price of tickets. Concession prices through the roof. Zero perks if you do buy season tickets. And a team we had no clue how they were going to perform on ice after the previous years utter collapse in February. After a great regular season, first round exit. I think Toronto fans can relate. There is no buzz around this team. I have no idea what next year brings, but I fear more of the same low effort across the board.

@patrickgoulet8170 Well, as a paying customer, ya, they do owe me something. They owe me and the other fans a decent product for the money we spend. They owe us a competitive effort in the post-season instead of collapsing. There is way too much talent to go out like that. I don't expect them to win, but I do expect to be entertained. What hurts you mentally? Criticizing your favorite team is as old as sports itself. I was hardly blasting them.

Necas is an oddball. he's really good in the Canes system when he plays into the Canes system. but when he plays how he WANTS to play and not into the Canes system he's a really bad player. which is why he has a solid xG/60 but his shooting is only like 6% above league average. what I think is gonna happen is Necas is going to get a deal like he's the 50+ point forward he can be, but wherever he goes he's gonna have a terrible season cause he's playing how he wants to.

I've seen the idea of him going to Vancouver and forming a Necas + Pettersson + Mikheyev line. Probably won't happen, and probably won't work in reality, but it sounds cool.

If I am Necas, I want to play with Bedard. The Hawks are loaded with prospects with more on the way. Two defense prospects, Vlasic and Korchinski, showed they belong in the NHL. From a future perspective, Chicago looks good.

Necas wants to go to BOS (Czech connection, especially after winning gold with Zacha/Pasta) but i'm not convinced CAR wants Ullmark +. Ultimately, it's the GM's descision not Necas.

Ullmark plus? No sorry not a chance. You don't trade a top 10 goalie who's under contract for a middle six winger who's not. And you especially don't add a sweetener to that deal. That's stupid. Necas + for Ullmark maybe depending on what the plus is.

@@mattmacknight3000 That would be a terrible trade that makes no sense. An RFA who's not under contract who's a 50 point winger doesn't warrant that return. If someone else wants to make that overpayment you let them do it.

The mishandling of Ehlers, and babying of Kyle Connor is fuckin baffling as a jets fan. KC is a one trick pony, and I would argue that Ehlers would be better at that one trick if he was given the kind of ice time that Connor gets. Not to mention, ehlers is simply better at a lot of other facets of the game.

@@patrickgoulet8170have you not seen the numbers on how much better the production is from Scheif and Vilardi when Ehlers is on that line? It’s not like I’m asking to give the ice time to someone who’s unproven. Not only is he better when it comes to eye test, but statistically the other top guys play better when they play with him.

Sorry guys, you are playing the Dreger game for the Canes. Necas is not the player you make him out to be. I will trust Brind'Amour's assessment over yours (or anyone with an agenda). He has flash & dash and very good skills but that doesn't always translate into talented and good for my team

I think it's gonna be another DeAngelo situation I think he's gonna get traded for a haul like he's a 50+ point player, he's going to massively underperform and get bought out by a very unhappy GM, then the Canes are gonna scoop him back up on FA, but he's no longer going to fit into how their system has evolved

The guy is a pretty ok player but i dont see the hype. The money he is reported to be asking for is absyrd for his production level. If the flames skend the assets to get him I'd be quite annoyed.

Necas is so inconsistent and so lackadaisical with the puck. He’s a great player when there are less players on the ice but is not good when there isn’t a ton of space. He lives off of transition plays and 3v3 OT. Also he has not performed well in the playoffs, this season was his best playoff performance and it was decent

Nope, he wants to go to a winning organization, not one rebuilding. Necas ends up in Boston, who have 27 million in cap space. Plus playing with fellow Czech players Pastrnak and Zacha is something that intrigues him. on a side note, if the Bruins get Necas, rumor has it that Jake DeBrusk ends up in Detroit or Toronto.

Panthers were a sh*t show on Saturday. Panthers were getting caught flatfooted and missing assignments. Tkachuk needs to score -- and to stop throwing the puck to the middle of the ice.
