If Oregon and Utah win their leagues in the first year it’s really a testament to how the pac just cost themselves to playoff berths bc of the depth they had. Everyone says the pac was the most softest but that was the case every year.
If the Pac12 had scheduled like the SEC does (cowardly) the Pac12 would've had a playoff team every year. However Pac12 scheduled for parity so every good team always played forcing them to cannibalize each other every year
@@JWCFB most def was Wazzu beating Wisconsin CU beating Nebraska and TCU but just showed the true depth of the conference. UW beating Texas was a statement too it’s just the matchup vs Michigan was not great for them I think Oregon matchup wise was better suited to deal w Michigan than UW was but UW was suited to beat Oregon 😂 now they’re all in the B1G and B12 so it’ll be crazy to see how the pac schools finish
I wasn't sure if itcqas just me. I have never really paid that much attention. I hope there's no medical issues. I know it's hard, especially with his work schedule.
fsu has the best offensive and defensive line in the ACC? They must've missed the flight to Dublin. It's not too late to change your fsu picks fellas 😂😂😂😂
Yeah how are you picking Utah to win the XII and you don’t mention All-American Brant Kuithe and also don’t know that Isaac Wilson beat out Huard for QB2?
I love how the Oklahoma fan base matters so much on the viewing of these things that you put our picture as the thumbnail even though you never mentioned us once smh you ain’t slick
@@HalaMadrid713it’s a slippery slope, if we are such a quality fanbase to bring in they need to mention us a little bit at least or it won’t be long before we won’t be clicking on the posts even if they do mention us
Pete Thamel is a very smart man that is all. Utah is INSANELY talented on offense this year, especially in the wide receiver and tight end room. I’d argue that their tight end room is the best in the entire country (Brant Kuithe, UCLA Transfer Carsen Ryan, Landen King, Miki Suguturaga, Baylor transfer Caleb Lohner). They actually DO have a proven running back returning in Micah Bernard, who famously played in the secondary in the 2022 Rose Bowl against Ohio State. He’s just more of a combo running back/receiving option vs a pure running back. They also return Jaylon Glover, who is a junior this season and played quite well over his first two years, though he was buried a bit on the depth chart. This might be the most talent Utah has ever had at receiver though, and it may be the first season in decades that Utah actually throws the ball more than they run it. Btw, former Washington and Cal Poly QB Sam Huard is NOT the back up QB. That would actually be 4-Star True Freshman Isaac Wilson, who played at Utah 6A Champion Corner Canyon High School last year (Utah’s highest level of high school football). He set records in high school for passing yards and TD’s. He also happens to be the younger brother of former BYU and current NFL quarterback Zach Wilson. He won the QB2 job in fall camp over Sam Huard, as Kyle Whittingham announced last week.
I agree. Honestly I think Utah has a great chance to at least make it to the semifinals. To your point. I would bet all the money that I have that in a round robin situation, the worst BIG 12 team would beat the worst BIG 10 and ACC school.
@@aiden395 if a conference is balanced between the top and the bottom that means there are no great teams in it. If you have a bunch of average teams of course it is going to be balanced.
@@patrickoneill8707 having 2-3 good teams in a conference of 20 isn’t impressive. It just means theres 0 competition. The big 12 is a battle and test daily and considering the big 12 has a great bowl record against other conferences id say they are among the better conferences.
@@aiden395 look up the preseason rankings and tell me how many SEC teams are in the top 15. Your argument that there are only two or three good teams in the SEC just laughable.
People always make fun of Liberty for having easy schedules, but don't realize that we literally CAN'T play P4 schools. We had a bunch of P4 schools scheduled to play when we were still independent, but as soon as we joined a conference and went undefeated they all cancelled their games with us and won't sign new ones because we're too good.
The Power/AQ Teams simply rearly never scheduled top G5 teams due to multiple factors. Only one OOC game even matter when factoring who would get in, the rest simply don’t matter and they could use it to pad out there record . And the fact they made a promise to some of the player that they are going to get play time. And the consolidation of brands into conferences.
@@cordercorder8785 Literally yes, there is no other reason for all of them to have cancelled all of their games with us other than it wouldn't be worth it to lose to us
Absolute filth of a network. Everything ESPN does - everything - is calculated to line its pocket and promote its backwoods trailer park conference. The damage it has done to college football is immeasurable. Finebaum is a hack and a stain on our beloved sport. Wishing all of them the worst this coming season.
Malaki Starks has been my favorite since we signed him and that Oregon game proved me right!! I knew it and he’s stayed consistent throughout his career at UGA!! SEC Champs will be UGA!!
I agree with your analysis...I do have a comment about Miami...they do have a talented roster...however Mario Crystabal has made some of the greatest coaching blunders I have ever seen...Hopefully for Hurricane fans he doesn't get in the way...
Cristobal has 2 P5 conf championships, rose bowl W and beat a top 5 OSU in the shoe He took a program w 1 win, and won a conference ship and bowl game. Has several COY awards and a national recruiter of year award. Came to Miami .500 vs top 10
College Football Game Day best sports show on TV. If Rece puts on few more LB's he could play Linebacker somewhere. I know when they go to these towns they get to eat at the best Restaurant's. You can tell he works out , he's got the guns!
And the BIG10. There's practically only two major conferences left. The other conferences just happen to have a few straggler teams that happen to have a great chance to win against the BIG10 and SEC. The SEC has been the best for 20 years winning the vast majority of national championships. Of course it'll be talked about like the juggernaut it is.
I have Clemson in the playoffs out of the acc. The tigers finally bounce back after taking time out of the cfb playoffs . Clemson finds its offense and has the acc best defense and one of the best defenses in the nation to bounce back from a close opening loss to uga to reel off 12 straight and be 12-1 for the playoffs
Bama beat UGA in the SECCG in 2021, then what happened when they played Bama in the National championship? Bama lost by 2 TDs. Save your injury excuses. Bama had the best talent and depth in the country. Bama beating UGA in a close game doesn't mean that they weren't the best team in America.
@@Knowing487 Saban isn't the coach. I know you're grieving and the 1st stage is denial but Kirby actually wins national championships unlike the Bama coach who cant even beat Michigan.
@@ajpierre One thing for sure is that UGA fans are gonna win the talking championship every season. No one is ever better than them even when they are clearly beaten. I don’t think for a second that Georgia would’ve beaten Michigan last season. I watched Alabama handle Georgia on both lines of scrimmage and then have a really hard time handling Michigan at the line of scrimmage.
I don’t like Texas #1 . That took big nuts to take a qb that hasn’t took a college football snap and a team that lost 2 RBs in fall camp already . I don’t think Texas is going to be what everyone thinks they will. In other words Texas isn’t back. I have Texas out of the playoffs all together. Tough sec schedule and a trip at Michigan . I got Texas out of the playoff all together
So Pete you have Oregon beating OSU 2x? Or does OSU win on road and then lose at neutral site? Personally I think it would be opposite. @Oregon is a brutal road environment.
Literally all they have to do is win the big 12 and they are a top three team in the big 12 this year. If you don’t think Kansas has a legit shot, then you don’t know football.
Miami has talent, but suffers from horrible coaching every year. Mario makes decisions every season that hurts his team, usually resulting in a loss that his team should have won, going back to his stint at Oregon. If it happens AGAIN, he should be on the hot seat in my opinion.
D Gabriel impresses me and he doesn't because he doesn't really have arm strength to make throws but his decision making could be a factor but I'm still going with will Howard osu all day
I am going Ohio state as #1 in my playoff . Ohio state has more talent than I’ve seen out of the Buckeyes. Their running game their o line their defense are all top 5 .
As with everyone else, Michigan is getting so much disrespect. Apparently everyone forgot that Sherome Moore has filled in AND won all the games. Yes the quarterback is a question mark BUT there are so many other teams on here with the same issue.
The thumbnail should tell you everything you need to know about who has the most important brand in CFP. Oklahoma not even mentioned in the video and yet they are the thumbnail.
I saw absolutely nothing redeeming about FSU. Never seen a team as bad all around as this team!!! Having said that, BC looked like a team that is on track on both sides of the ball. Still Leary to say they are contenders though!
#11 I’m going with Penn state . If we had this playoff system in 2014 when it started Penn state would have been in every single year . I got Penn state in the playoffs at 11
My number 2 team because the sec will beat each other up is the Notre dame fighting irish. Notre dame because of their easy schedule will run the table and be undefeated. I don’t have Notre dame winning the title or think they are legit #2 but I have nd with the schedule #2 .
Hat to break it to you, but Iowa needed FAR more than just a better offense. Better + historically worse defense in the last 80 years is not a great improvement.
@@themacaronichronicles717 Best team is a stretch. Memphis probably has the most complete team, but they catch FSU on the road on their schedule and play Tulane, USF and UTSA on their schedule. In fact id argue Liberty by talent and ability they are closer to the 4th or 5th best G5 team.
@@MattBuild4 Liberty has the best QB and RB in the G5, they are nowhere near 4th or 5th by talent or ability. If Liberty played USF, UTSA, Memphis, Tulane, tomorrow they's probably beat all of them, the only close game being Tulane most likely. They're also better than Boise State who had some staff and players leave after last season
Georgia only played one team with equal talent last year and they lost. I agreed with Pete that Texas is the best team in the SEC but I doubt that now after losing their stud NFL RB to injury. Blue ain't bad but he ain't nearly as good as Baxter.
This is what no one is talking about. Bama beat Arkansas by 3 and Auburn by 4. Ohio St was robbed of the #4 spot as they played awful in The Game and still hung with Michigan. They also had 2 quality wins not just one.
Michigan barely beat Ohio State. But they beat Alabama who beat Georgia. So Georgia was the best team last year? Davis is just sec bias as usual. Georgia didn’t win the CFP so that tells me they weren’t the best team. Fifth maybe.
#7 with 2 losses I got the defending champs back in the playoff . Welcome back Michigan . Not as good this year obviously losing to osu and Oregon I have Michigan in the playoff at #7
#12 I have the Boise state broncos . They get the transfer from usc at qb, they have a 1200 yard running back, they return 11 back on defense , they don’t play Air Force or Fresno regular season and although they play Oregon , Boise has competed with Oregon every time they played and Boise has covered the spread every time . Look out Oregon , but I have Boise 12-1 and in the playoff . Losing only to Oregon .
"Competed with oregon? BSU is 3-0 all time against Oregon. They didnt cover the spread - they BEAT the spread every single time. Boise State has led Oregon in every single game by 12 or more points....The whole reason why BSU fans are freaking out is because this season is eerily similar to the last time they played at Autzen in 2008, with an unknown new QB, decent defense and NFL talent at RB. They beat #10 Oregon by 5, but the score doesnt do justice how lopsided this game was considering they led 31-8 in the 4th quarter. Now with all this being said, I dont really think BSU is gonna pull an upset, because they have too many questions with their team this year. After all there are similarities between 08 and 24, especially in the uncertainity, but hindsight - 08-11 BSU was freaking stacked....... Theres a reason they went Top 3 in offense and Top 10 in defense 4 consecutive years and have the all time class record in the sport. For todays team to be held this expectation would be absolutely ludicrious.
10 of 11? i just did the math for you, based on 35 possible starting positions, no dual roles, only 15 are transfers, and that's over 3 years for some of the transfers.... try harder man.
I like this Ohio state team to run the table and be #1 in the country . Ohio state has some hard games . It will be tough to beat rival Michigan and win at Oregon . I have Ohio state #2
#9 I have another sec school getting in . I’m going Alabama making it without nick saban . This isn’t the same Alabama though as when he coaches and I don’t expect the tide to make any noise . Alabama makes it
Don’t you know if Alabama and UGA is in the playoffs and the brackets fall right, they are likely to meet the the championship. The media will be pissed for sure.
Yea -- well -- Josh Pate and Joel Klatt both believe - OHIO STATE has the best roster and the # 1 team. --- In fact - Josh has picked OHIO STATE to beat Texas for the National Championship !!! > Neither are 'handicapped' by ESPN & their strong SEC bias ?
The 12 teams that make the playoffs will be the ones that ESPN and Fox and possibly CBS manipulate into making the playoffs, even if they (the teams those networks collude and despicably rig to make it) don’t deserve to be in the playoffs. Last year proved how disgraceful this is when an undefeated team from an Autonomous League was left out. Ohio State in year one of the 4-team CFP had a similar situation as Florida State last year and actually has a loss at home as opposed to an undefeated Florida State team. I am not a Florida State Alum or fan but wrong and hypocrisy are just that and obvious. These two clowns along with others on rival networks are completely disingenuous and disgraceful and completely unreliable and untrustworthy. Truth!
@@DavidEinAustin Nothing FSU has experienced in 100 years is comparable to what the league did to TCU in 2010....... FSU's 2023 snub aint even in the same universe as that team..... FFS 10 TCU beat a #6 team ON THE ROAD 47-7 and dropped in the rankings - thats not a snub - thats a war crime..... That team accomplished more in a season than 95% of the top 4 for the last decade - back to back undefeated; Top 4 offense in the nation w/ 4 NFL draft picks on offense including a future 3x all pro QB who has 40K yards in the league today; #1 defense by a mile - shutout 4 teams 164-0; 50% of their schedule couldn't even score a TD on them; held 3 top 10 offenses to season low production; had 6 NFL draft picks on defense; averaged a 32+ MOV per game - AND THAT WASNT GOOD ENOUGH....... God the BCS was such a f*cking disgrace......
@@TonyLauLetta not really its all about game planning and GA beat themselves My boy and dude that QB literally was an 4 yards from keeping that game alive and you are in denial.
@@TonyLauLetta bra you talking all that noise who yo team ? 😂 struggling vs a team is when down the first 3 quarter and then come back from what I saw we had the lead the whole game.
Georgia definitely were the best team last year Alabama was drug through the sec by the refs. Should’ve had Atleast 3 losses and yes georgia did lose to Alabama. However that Alabama team shoul not have been in the playoffs
#8 we have to go back to the sec . The Missouri tigers are getting no love what so ever and has a really easy sec schedule. I like the Missouri tigers at 10-2 make the playoff and be the #8 team
