Glad someone finally did this. Select Blade deserves some shine. Apparently the two guns plug together and the random part is supposed to be a butt stock. I still can't figure it out.
I love that Select Blade. I bought a couple of Mcfarlane Hellbat cycles when they were real cheap. I took all the Joker dragon bone pieces off to the bare bones cycle and customized the crap out of it for this figure. He looks so badass on it. It compliments the figure so well. Im going to try and customize a nice black leather trench for it even though im happy enough with it as is.
Between these two select is an obvious choice. My favorite vampire movie is Once Bitten. Lauren Hutton, Clevon Little, and a very young Jim Carrey. Funny stuff.
Legs on the Legends is from the Old Man Logan, Hawkeye Two pack. Been trying to think of where the arms or coat are from, but I can't put my finger on it for the life of me XD
The only Deadpool figures I have are the new two pack (which I did a review of earlier this month) and the pirate version, so I don't think I have anything else Deadpool coming for a while. Sorry about that!
Me everytime I see Morbius: IT'S MORBIN' TIME! Joking aside, the ML Blade is like one of the best recent MLs from recent years. The MS one never came out here in my country sadly. Also,my fav vampire project is not a movie. But a little show in the late 90s-early 00s. And that show is ANGEL!
I got the marvel legends version of blade 2 days ago at gamestop and i really love it and i really think the legends version looks so much like wesley snipes blade from the movies. I know its not exactly that version but i really do think its very close
I like the more complex outfit and accessories on the Select figure, but I really like the long black classic trench coat look, so unlike the ULIK VS KALIBAK video, I may prefer the older figure to the newer one, but this comes from really liking that one specific detail, if both had trench coats, I'd probably like the newer figure more (which is the case with ULIK VS KALIBAK, I like the McFarlane a lot more) I've been watching your videos for over a year, it's only in the last few months that I began making more comments on RU-vid videos, and yeah, I'm looking at older videos and recent ones I missed. Good reviews all around, I even watch ones about characters that are not that important to me, I miss the part of your intro where the cups get knocked over and you fumble the money in the air (lol) classic intro that always makes me laugh every time. But making the into shorter makes sense, many have seen many times. Your extensive comparisons are always great, and versus videos too.
Marvel Select is a incredible well made figure. Has more accesories and the sculpt is awesome. But I prefer the ML because his appearence is my favorite with the coat, the aggresive face and the square hair, appealing to the live action Blade (which is my reference towards this character)
I originally have the toybiz version with wesley snipes😄, but two blade figures are a pass for me, nothing new this time.Looking for super articulated Blade figure in the future, hopefully for 7 inch line?🥱
Of course, after I customized my own blade outta a roadblock, lol. Select for the win more bang for yer buck. Legends for my collection. Movie: dust to dawn. Fun video w my coffee and snow here lol
First off, I think the better Hasbro Blade to compare with the Marvel Select one is the "Man Thing wave" bald version of Blade. I actually prefer this ML Blade because it's closer to the Wesley Snipes look. I think the preference lies on which will be partnered up with the Blade figure, the "more accurate" 1:12 scale (Mezco, GI Joe Classified) or the Neca scale. I have more of the accurate 1:12 so I'm going for the ML one. If the Marvel Select Blade is more in scale with Marvel Legends line and they gave him a removable trench coat, that would be absolutely cooler.
On the ML blade, the torso is reused from the Blade from the man thing wave, the legs are reused from old man Hawkeye, and the arms are reused from the havok with jacket from the X-Men twopack
Man every time i remember how little the McFarlane CE figs come with it bums me out specially since McFarlane felt like he was the chosen one, no bs. Anyway great review cheers 🎉
1) I loved your Spider-Man bit in the middle there. 2) Have you done a big comprehensive Spider-Man video yet? 3) great video! As per always. 4) I honestly disappointed in both of these figures for different reasons 5) favorite vampire movie? Here's a few: 1979's Dracula starring Frank Langella Vampire Hunter D Only Lovers Left Alive Blacula (not necessarily a favorite, but holds a special nostalgia for me) Stake Land (again, not necessarily a favorite, but one I'll often recommend)
Never heard of Stake Land, I'll have to look into it. I have not done a co comprehensive Spidey Versus yet (it's coming), but I have done a huge Action Figure Evolution on him. Go to Popular Uploads on my Channel main page. It's number 3 I believe
@@5POAFigureReviews thanks for the feedback. Stake Land is great. It got a sequel that is okay but nowhere near as good. I'll go check out your Spidey video I
I ended up getting both. I gave the MK’s Blade a soft goods trench and gave the one he came with to the Manthing Blade and it matches better with the glasses. I also gave MK’s Blade the stake holster from manthing Blade and a knife and black gloves from some gi joe I had. Spruced it up a bit. The marvel select is just amazing. Needs shoulder mods but other then that it’s so good. Worth the 30. The block thing on his leg is a should stock. You plug the two guns together and the block sticks underneath the gun with the thin back. It looks cool as a big gun.
I want them to put out a Blade boy thing ( baby man thing from jason aaron's avengers run) mafex set. Boy thing would come in 3 versions as armor, sword and as himself that you can wear on blade's shoulder.
I hate the Legends one’s forearms so much. Pretty sure they’ve been used before at least on the 90s Havoc figure, and they’ve always looked bad. No one’s, not even a superhero’s, forearms are that big proportionally. Kinda ruins the overall look for the figure for me.
No, I haven’t got the marvel legend, blade, but the marvel select blade was incredibly disappointing. It was one of my first marvel select figures and honestly it’s not worth it at all. The joints was incredibly stiff the weapons are those cool only look cool when I put away yes I understand Marvel select. Doesn’t have good articulationand I was prepared for that, but was incredibly disappointed marvel legends will be the best figure line ever except the new screech fighter figure line that new figure incredible possibility. I bought one of my customize, and the other one I customized, but I love them.
@@5POAFigureReviews yeah I should’ve been more research and looked at some more reviews about it because you double being at the knee and elbow really helped with the articulation and the possibility your video was very helpful
I commented before you did the effect piece for the Mindless One. Every reviewer I've watched so far has ported it wrong. It plugs across the slit and plugs into both sides
Im still gonna get the ML blade because he looks cool and i cant wait to have him in hand but there are a few things that would've made the marvel legends blade a perfect 10/10. Slightly better articulation, definitely in the arms. A second head sculpt for a relaxed look A better sword. The marvel selects sword looks unique to blade while legends looks like he stole it off a henchman and forgot his at home Added paint apps. Some small touches of silver and red in certain places would've went a long way And this ones more of a personal preference but extra gun holding hands. As evident by marvel select blades been known to carry guns
The guns combine and the "box thing" fits on to the back of the combined guns as kind of a stock as it essentially becomes a rifle. It's actually kinda cool. Too bad the way it holds together is kinda suspect. The idea and effort of the combination weapon is cool but it's half assed executed.
