@@gerdsverer721 From the moment I freed her and threw a bomb-ass melee Nano Bomb at some unsuspecting Stone Giant with literally 0 items other than a Focus Crystal and an Armor Piercing Rounds at Stage 1 and proceeded to finish him off with the Flamethrower and a few M1s in between both skills for one of the fastest low level boss kills, I fell in love.
@@theshanamaster yeah man, also if you have 2 scrap launchers you can retool every time you run out of rockets on one of them and have infinite rockets Edit: but if you get too much attack speed the rockets don't have time to regenerate and it's actually worse
love the merc. I had phases where I solely played engineer, phases where I solely played huntress. but once you get hooked on the speed of the merc, there's no turning back
I *love* playing the Engineer, because of the main attack. Always liked grenade weapons, and being able to hold the attack for shotgunning explosives is tonnes of fun. Turrets are best for denying enemy movement through an area, rather than being a mainstay and hanging back while they do all of the work. After picking up a mushroom and a Topaz, I don't worry about picking up stuff for them, just go for mobility stuff for myself. Charging up the grenades and dodging in and out of cover are my go-to.
Hey Woolie. Just started ROR2 this week on Switch/PC. Wanted to say that it's been an absolute joy browsing the material featured in your channel for this game. Vids like this one are very engaging and no non-sense.
being "that guy" in my group of friends who likes to sit and be passive, and also likes to be the support-bitch comes in real handy my friends just forcefeed me mushrooms and I get ot just sit and eat chips while I occasionally maintain my fungoid health clinic
Nice video man. Im actually liking Rex right now. But Hey woolie do you take video suggestions? You could try a challenge where you go long as you can only picking up 1 of each item, or only attack/ Defense ect
@@Woolie Im sure if anyone can you could. Maybe consider some group play ideas too. Maybe something like Rpg rules. One person picks only healing items, one picks only "tank" style items, one picks offense and the other picks odds and ends utiluty items. Though it might suck for for the utility guy. Maybe dont do that one lol
@@Woolie I was also gonna comment it would be cool to do a video similar to the items tier list about the interactable stuff on the map (i.e. shrines, chests, drones etc.) . I would be especially interested in whether the different types of chests newly added in the june update differ in quality.
"Ooh cool, a "who's the best video" ! I like to play the engineer, he's really cool, I hope he will be in the top 3, as well as mul-t. I'm eager to see how artificer will be chosen as the worst character lol" ;-;
Im so happy commandos getting a new evasive skill and has actual crowd control skills in his new alt skills. Its just not as good as the other ones. It doesnt even give you armor or invincibility frames, it just shifts your hit box.
I've played over almost 100hrs and with all my runs im def a Multi main. The sluggish feeling i get is too real but i typically never have a bad run with him. W/O Ukelele its definitely alot more grindy for getting past 1st-2nd loop but i typically "endgame" without a problem 7/10 times. He's my boy forsure
On multi a way to get good use out of the 2 equipments is get one for damage and one for emergencies like when your about to die I found that the fruit and leech work best
Artificer's primary take some time getting used to considering that it's not hit scan like most of the others. Little hard to land the hits on wisps most of the time especially if they're not within a few several meters of you.
I like playing REX as i rlly like combining r with the black hole and spamming m2 at the mobs stuck in the r, using REX i got my furthest run so far and managed to unlock both artificer and mercenery in one run using REX
I have played all but the merc and rex and i rank each of the others as such Commando 7/10 I definatly agree with you on this one and he is still a lot of fun my first game with my friend lasted 80 minutes and was crazy Mul-t 7/10 Also a fun pick as dependent on items sometimes you can really make either one of your M1's so much better than the other while also being a full on tank Engineer 9/10 Honestly my favorite character to play as. While yes the engineer is not for everyone the play has peaked my interest and some of the crazy things that can happen with certain items like how dio's best friend can make the turrets have double lives as well. Huntress 6/10 While this may be the lowest character on my list the huntress is still fun, but the lackluster damage on the M1 and the long cooldowns really drop her score for me. Artificer 8/10 Even with every move the artificer has having a cooldown you can still cycle through the moves and be dealing damage at any second. Your moves also start with a high damage starting out giving you such an efficent way to kill almost any enemy. I have now played a couple games on merc now so I am adding my thoughts on him Mercenary 8/10 being melee definitely takes a little to get used to but merc combos make bosses seem easy early on but as I went though my second play through with him I got almost to where I got my best engineer run.
i love rex because his attacks have a massive range and his mobility skill can also get to vantage points at least a little reliably. Although not really applicable in most situations, this means he can snipe enemies from a distance where he can't get hurt.
Favorite is def engineer, I like playing support and having the closest support person in game due to the Fungi, to me efficiency over fun. But on the days I want to have fun it’s Mercenary
I love engineer because of how fun it feels to lock down multiple areas on your own and assisting your friends in co-op while you go around and use the admittedly bad m1 to destroy everything.
With Mul-T, you can hold down the equipment switch button, and hold down fire mode when you have 2 rebar launchers in his kit, this makes it where Mul-T DOMINATES the game with his new auto-rebar puncher
I had 33 bungus with engineer and I went the artifact reliquary to get the artifact of vengeance and literally couldn’t die or kill the boss I had to just quit
For me, I got overwhelmed by a group of about 25 lesser whisps on stage 2, loop 1. Couldn't aim well nor could I target the center whisp with m2, so I died shortly after the teleporter was ready to go.
@@cate01a her right click actually branches out and hits nearby enemies, typically it can one-shot stage 2 wisps when it's fully charged, and if not you can just double-dip
Hey woolie, good vid. I think something is going on with yt - Havent seen a vid from you in weeks, turns out I wasn't subbed? I'm pretty sure yt unsubscribed me for some reason.
Baz Buco 0 seconds ago I love MUL-T’s alt configuration (power mode) and weapon versatility. Once you’ve played him for about 5-10 hours, you’ll figure out how to compensate for his sluggishness through certain combinations of mobility items amd strategic positioning. The satisfaction of finishing off a teleporter boss with a well-aimed transport-mode slam is second to none. MUL-T’s high armor skills and thicc hp pool makes him a more forgiving character to play for beginners to play too.
I remember once being bullied for being an artificer main, so seeing the most influential content creator in RoR2 agree that she's the best character is very satisfying.
I was wondering, how do you deal with malachite enemies later in the game as the mercenary. Normally when you're not overpowered yet you just keep your distance as another character, but with him, you can't..
I've found that, while playing multiplayer, mobile characters such as mercenary and huntress have the upper hand since they can get to chests faster. When playing with my friends, the less mobile characters such as rex and artificer 8/10 times are the weakest on the group. Does someone has an idea on how to work around this?
@@bobmight4946 Thing is, when one of us is playing as one of the slower characters we feel bad slowing the others down by making them wait we get the chests, and, when we decide to make a run like that usually ends up with mobs getting too tanky for us to kill. Edit: But yeah, I can see what we are doing wrong. We'll try to adapt.
Activate the teleporter faster. Then, the whole group won't have enough good to just buy everything and more, and everyone will get the same amount of used gold
My very first run with Engi ended from fall dmg because i didn’t notice his jetpack was actually not a jetpack Also managed to crash the game by making Huntress shoot too many arrows, which oddly hasn’t happened to me with any other characters
I'm not sure if its the increased enemy spawn (supposed glitch) or the slight weakening of his turrets, but Engineer feels a bit too weak now. Mercenary and Artificer are the best in my own personal opinion. Merc has so many s its nuts and Arti has amazingly powerful attacks.
This list is actually fairly accurate! Only a couple things I'd like to say. - Artificer tends to feel squishy and this needs to be mentioned. Her lack of movement abilities can leave her feeling like a fish in a barrel when golems and wisps come calling. - Mercenary is easily the most consistent, I feel. It's true that he can fall off on damage the longer the game goes but if you're not getting damage items then you're likely getting good movement/survival items and Mercenary is still viable if his damage is shit because he can just be COMPLETELY UNTOUCHABLE if you play him right and watch your cooldowns and aim your Blinding Assaults just right. - I think what makes MUL-T feel so sluggish is that his Transportation Mode is on such a long cooldown that it ends up feeling like a last resort for emergencies rather than a good, viable movement ability. Plus you're encouraged to ram enemies with it and if you ram a golem you'll hit them pretty hard but you'll also STOP. - Finally the thing I disagree with the most is your rating on Commando. I think you SEVERELY underplayed how reliant he is on items. Not only for damage, but for mobility too. His combat roll doesn't have a SUPER long cooldown but you can only do it once before it IS on cooldown and if you're facing a flock of lesser wisps or god forbid more than 1 golem, you're only going to dodge one laser and roll right into another.
@@Cpt_Dave I gotta admit. I'm bad at dodging the lasers. They seem insanely hit-scan accurate so whatever trick you're using to do it you gotta teach me. Obvious things like hiding behind a rock so the laser can't even hit you are obvious. I do that whenever possible of course.
Honestly the i find the Artificer the hardest, since i prefer Merc a lot more. Maybe it's my playstyle but she just feels fragile and a bit lackluster in a sense.
