@@raulm.3524 As Setoumga said, it isn't about which character is better, but instead, which character gains more from being level 90. With an attack scaling character, you have the character's attack, but also the attack from the weapon, which are totaled prior to applying atk% buffs. This alone makes the attack gained from the extra 10 levels a smaller gain than what the others see, percentage-wise. Then, potentially, add a Benny buff on top of that, to further reduce the significance of the level based attack as a percentage of your overall damage. HP scalers don't have an equivalent to the weapon's atk. Just some flat hp added after the hp% stuff is. So the impact from the extra 10 levels tends to be greater. Same deal for def scalers. And likewise with transformative reactions. The base amount is based on level, and so it is very important to level a character like Kuki up.

With that amount of investment, she might deal as much damage as a lvl 60 Xiangling pyronado! Good job!

@@blazn0 She has a decent self-healing, but as a Tank, you’re better off using Beidou, Thoma, Xinyan. I love Dehya, one of my Top 5 characters, but Mihoyo did her incredibly dirty.

@@majoshit732 nope. plenty of chars are ok on lvl 70 like Mika, Charlote. Colley, barbara etc. their dmg dont matter, they will not be crowned so they are ok at lv 8 tallents and they dont gain much from levels

yes, it all depends on the element! electro, dendro and anemo are 100% guaranteed upgrades. if you use the shattered reaction, you should get lvl 90 too. the other reactions don't really change and even if the character scales on hp/def, its not THAT worth it since its always around a 10% upgrade

Yeah, I do agree abyss usage is the highest priority factor. Sort by abyss usage and then transformative reactions > additive reactions > dps/buffer hp/def scalers.

A year ago I finished with all characters at that time, and now I consistently level new characters to 90 on day 1 (if I can). At the moment I'm leveling all characters talents to 9-9-9 (some favs to 10-10-10). I recently finished Mondstadt and now I am halfway through with Liyue. I've decided to farm for artifacts when I'm done. All my current ones are mostly from weekly bosses or the Abyss, so yep.

Eventually we all should level all characters to max. Artifact farming is pointless after a while. My goal is to get top30% on akasha with every character I play. Besides Raiden. My Raiden is awesome but It seems like every players Raiden is awesome +. I'm just top 40ish... 215CV, high attack etc... community really went for the best for her.

Guaranteed investment doesn’t mean its always good. if the return aren’t worth the cost, then it’s a waste of resources. I can see why people would feel tilted from rolling artifacts but let’s be real, it doesn’t feel that bad once you learn how to optimize the stat instead of being a CV andy.

You are so based for the friendship xp bar. I remember I ascended but forgot to level Zhongli back in 1.6, and suddenly at 2.1 I noticed man's lvl 81. I skill issued so hard back then. I then decided to never feed him any xp books, see if I can lvl 90 him before the story ends. Now, since I don't use Zhongli as much, he's still at lvl 83, tanking almost every single thing imaginable.

Xingqiu can be used in so many teams, so when you have nothing else to do you can just give him some level if you feel like it, also Nilou bloom. Bennett, on the other hand, gains 13 base atk from 80 to 90.

@@nickussy. you gain more *in total* in your clears throughout a long period of time, than, for example, if you were to level up a character that does care a lot about levels, but you use them like once a year. The point is that the milage you can get out of XQ, makes it more rewarding to level him up to 90, because he's good in almost every team. Of course this is assuming you use him pretty frequently. And he can do his job just fine on Lv80/90 too, which is why most people choose to not level him

He also heals off of HP%, which gets much more out of 90 vs 80 compared to ATK. He’s used in a massive amount of teams giving more of a reason to, and any base ATK is hard to get considering you get none from artifacts or buffs. Xiangling needs the 90 because she does a ton of reaction damage, which scales off character level. Diluc in comparison does a lot of pure pyro damage because of ICD, which Xiangling doesn’t have to worry about. Xingqiu healing is off HP% as well, and his E with Xiangling is a massive amount of reaction damage along with being used in even more teams than Bennett. They aren’t swirl anemo level of necessary, but it nowhere near unnecessary for 90 compared to someone like Diluc or Charlotte for example.

The healing is relevant, but its not essential. One of the reason I really like him tbh, he can offer so much without demanding like 200 extra hero wits from me.

which can be a good thing? u need less investment for them than other characters and they are still very strong.

i think what it is is that crowd control is less effective the more levels enemies have on you, but it only starts at +20 levels. usually floor 12 has level 100 enemies so leaving your crowd control character at 80 gives max succ already. you should probably 90 them for the swirl damage anyways though.

@@GhjklasGaing if i dont level my characters to 90 i tend to leave them at 70 because i see no reason to use the extra mats, but i forgot plenty of people keep their characters at 80/80 and 80/90. so when im thinking abt characters like zhongli/gorou/diona being not full leveled i automatically think lvl 70, but ofc this whole vid was abt lvl 80 vs. lvl 90.

⁠@@GhjklasGaingWhile that is very much true. It is also worth mention that LV still affects the force. the higher the level, the higher the force would be. For example, a LV90 Venti can group enemy slightly faster than LV80 Venti. not that significant but at least its useful against enemy that can put up their superarmor very fast.

alone the fact, that you deal with every character significantly lesser damage, the moment the enemy is just like 2-3 levels higher than you, should be already reason enough to brign them all to 90 logically, howeever, if you are a F2P,you have naturally to priotize more, when Characters you build when, if you want also have ressources for weapons n artefacts...howeeve,r sooner or later everyone shoudl have just maxed them out all.. with how much progression stagnation MHY does already for years...even the F2P that were D1 players, should have by now everythign at 90 ...

General Rule: All Anemo Characters should always be 90, because Swirl significantly increases its power scaling with the Character Level... it makes also no point to compare like 5% damage increases, if the comparison is doen on a time scaling that is essentially zero, because at such a time scaling, naturally will feel 5% damage difference like nothing that is worth the effort.. but fights in the Abyss last 10 Minutes, and a 5% damage difference over the time span of 10 Minutes can make ALOT of difference, that will be enough of a diffference in the end, that decides over it, if you can get 3 stars, or end uop with only 2 stars maybe, because of the lack of DPS over time ...

You get small increments to main stats (HP/ATK/DEF) every level and substat goes up on ascension. And yeah, if you get 10 atk from lv 80 to 90, that's 2 per level rather than 5 at 85 and 5 at 90 (exact numbers may differ)

What the other person said, but transformative reactions are exponentially better. 80-81 is a good increase while 89-90 is an even bigger increase. The 3 base stat bonuses are linear, but some benefit more than others based on scalings.

The point was that if you use them enough (and they're pretty popular units because they're effortlessly strong), you might use them a lot more than some other units that would benefit from the levels more; for example let's say (for the sake of argument) they get like 2% dps upgrade from lv80->lv90, but Cyno gets like 10%. You can use XQ and XL in basically every abyss (let's say 9/10 abysses), meanwhile Cyno might struggle in a lot, because of his special needs as an on-field carry (2/10 abysses). From upgrading XQ and XL, and because you used them all the time, you technically got a (2%+2%)×9=36% dps increase over the past 5 months, meanwhile from Cyno's performance you only got a 10%×2=20% increase. Of course none of this is relevant if you don't play XQ / XL, or you find more ways to play Cyno, etc. Personally i play XQ and XL all the time, but i left them at Lv81/90 because they're already good enough, it'd be a waste of resources to level them further.

@@kumikostan69 even if you play those characters, lvl 90 can be a waste of resources. If you level them because you like them that would be a different story. But if it's damage...its very negligible. Honestly, characters like that would be the absolute last characters that I would level since they are plenty strong without 90. Actually it's kind of comforting since the amount of resources for 90 are very high.

Also Bennett, Bennett gains a whole great 13 base atk from level 80 (ascended) to 90 lemao. At least Xingqiu is more flexible and he gains a few %damage output, or actually a lot of damage if used in Nilou team.

I think she's worth leveling up to a certain degree, for Abyss reasons. Sometimes you need a bit more pyro app there, and she's handy to be able to drop into a team for that reason, with her no ICD burst. And, of course, you'll still probably want some amount of damage from her for that. But yeah, as far as a priority level, that pretty much comes down to how tied you are to Xingqiu + Benny gameplay. If you don't bother with the likes of National, you'll barely use her.

She's irreplaceable in national team variants. So, if one doesn't use those teams, then yeah, don't level her.

I think it wasn't explained well / details were left out (if it is the Noelle part you're talking about). Noelle's damage scales on her ATK, because her talents calculate her damage based on her ATK (there's no "% DEF" next to the percentages; except for the shield's hit on E and the healing), but she gets a boost based on her DEF for her normal attacks during burst (check her Burst's description; it says "ATK Bonus: X% DEF", that's why she likes DEF. But ATK% also isn't wasted on her, it's just because of the steroid, she likes DEF% a bit more. And especially because of her c6. Before c6, ATK is actually a bit better on her than DEF.) Kinda like how Hu Tao is actually an ATK scaler, but she likes HP more because her E gives her a massive ATK boost that is based on her max HP edit: added a bit more nuance, and cleaned up a couple incorrect statements

Most of her damage scales on atk. She just gets atk bonus from building def. Yea it's a bit confusing but imo it's important to get it right, because, for example she can still use Bennett to buff her, unlike someone like Albedo, whose main source of damage truly does scale off of def, he doesn't benefit from atk almost at all edit: little correction, "Her damage..." -> "Most of her damage..."

Her, Itto and hu tao are all actually attack scalers They just turn other stats into atk (HP/DEF)

I'd say, Max HP matters a lot too, especially for Yelan, Neuvillette, Hu Tao, Zhongli and Layla.

@@Axis0504 u know that beacon not exist basically, same as tignari signature bow, characters went to standard banner and will never get rerun banner with signature,so its impossible to get in current banner system

@@greenvega you act like every signature weapon has a character attached to it. they can just rerun it like how they bring back jade cutter or memory of dust once in awhile. if not then it is what it is beacon is still the best 5 star claymore.

@@Axis0504 jade cutter not signature for any char,it got reruns when it was single banner for new char,now they always doing 2, and only one potential char to get it as "signature" is albedo, for beacon and tignari's bow its impossible to put them anywhere, u only need wait when they gonna release triple banners

To be fair, if you're a long time player it doesn't look as resources wasting. But if you're new or more avarage player or not hording resources, it will be harder.

The point is getting good artifacts will 90% of the time be a better investment then level 90 especially since most players don’t spend for extra resin. Level 90 takes a lot of resin books and money for a small upgrade vs artifacts where the biggest cost is rng. 80/90 is more than fine in most situations and getting made about it just lets everybody practically smell you through the screen

Not really, I would say those who focus more on transformative reactions benefit more than HP scalers so if I have yelan for example and kuki, I would rather level up kuki first for hyperbloom dmg then yelan

Last ascension unlocks talent levels so it matters for- Pretty much everyone? You could argue maybe mika? If you play them occasionally/enjoy them you take them to final ascension

It's a final upgrade, to get more talent levels, and gives an increase to the main stat, like (neuivillets crit damage)

But why would I, if I can instead use my resin to crown talents or farm artifacts instead of ley lines? Or why would I use free xp books to go to lvl 90 when I could be raising other characters? For traditional atk scaling character, 80/90 is enough. More is just wasteful. I'd rather use my resource for something more useful. Anyone else though, is a different story.

Most healers don't benefit much from Clam. On field healing tends to be not that great, between the amount and the ticks, as well as uptime. And for the ones that do have the big heals, it is typically on activation of a skill, so doesn't happen that often. And due to this, healers are typically better off with another set, one that buffs the team. The only healers I'd use it on (and I do) would be Kokomi and Qiqi. Of those two, Kokomi is better off with another set in most teams (but not changing mine), while Qiqi overheals to such a degree that she is a bit of a waste of resources to max her out, even if you use her a lot (though I'd rather skip out on talent levels, which take resin, over levels, as xp books tend to accumulate over time once you have played long enough).

⁠​⁠​⁠@@Axterix13For new players, I’d argue that Clam is the easiest damage boost they’ll ever get. Just get a set and HP, HP, Healing Bonus and you’re set. My Barbara does like 6-30K a tic. That’s so much more over what she was doing. Plus what if you want to run them with characters with huge max HP pools like Yelan and Zhongli? I think the HP you get from levels is indispensable.

The Def in that context is not Xiao's but rather enemies' Def multiplier as it scales with your character level. You should look it up before saying shit lol

They do beat them. Zajef is just stuck to them because they are very strong options for old accounts with lots of cons on them. If you start today and pull an aggravate core from cyno banner that will probably serve you better than boneless xiangling from abyss. Every account has their own meta depending on what was desireable to them.

He champions them because they're easily available and really strong units, and because he hates the gacha system which can make people spend a p large amount of money, on units that can be beaten by these free* units (free as in they're all guaranteed available from just playing the game, but might take some time). He's trying to fight misconceptions from other people saying "you gotta pull for X character to be viable", which is never true because of those 3. Obviously you can make as strong teams with a bunch of other characters too, especially nowadays, but those 3 always got your back

Because it increases the Bountiful Cores' damage by a significant margin (because her buff depends on her HP, and not only does she get a p big base HP buff which makes her artifacts better too, but she also gets more HP% from her ascension passive)

@@kumikostan69 You don't get that final ascension passive boost at 90, though. You get it at the final ascension, which you do at level 80. But yeah, those extra levels boost her base hp, which you'll want to max out her buff, which anyone worried about whether or not to level a character to 90 probably doesn't have the gear to do at 80/90 ;)
