Matt is back at the table to do some blessing and ranking of the chicken biscuits! Today's competitors include McDonald's, Chick-fil-A, Whataburger, Wendy's, Jack's, Bojangles, and Hardee's. Which biscuit will reign supreme?
My local chick-fil-a is always empty as shit. The only time it’s remotely busy is weekday lunchtime. The hot chicken place next door to it puts it to shame.
@@ItsHammer Glad you found the one slow chick-fil-a place in the country. I live in the home of hot chicken and none of them compare to the lines at chick-fil-a, unless CMA fest is in town
I mean, that's the price of eating the Lords Chicken. You can't have any on HIS day. That's what Golden Corral is for. Or in West Texas, the Western Sizzler.
My favorite line on a Bless Your Rank ever: “Pour it directly into my mouth. No one’s gonna stop you. Who? The health department? I’ll fight ‘me off!” 😂
For driving and eating, I get the Chick-fil-A chicken minis. Not real biscuits, but they stay together and are small enough to manage while driving, and I like them.
Can confirm! Have often plowed through minis and hash browns while driving. That little touch of sweetness on the "biscuits" is so great! But honestly, how can he rank them last, when the chicken is so good?! For shame!
@@Samantha-vg5ro Oh yes. My bad. I mixed it up with my beloved Chick-fil-A biscuit. If I ever meet Matt, I will treat him for breakfast at Chick-fil-A. Thanks
I like to get the kids supreme meal at Bojangles. It comes with 2 supremes, 1 biscuit, 1 side and a drink, of course sweet tea. You can put any sauce they have on it.
@@mekaphilly5148 I suppose it depends on how your McDonald's is managed. My local mcdonalds used to suck really bad but, they rebuilt the building itself and then put in all new management for their grand reopening and they have been way better.
To see Wendy's really nice piece of chicken (it is their sandwich size) bumped down in favor of a chicken finger- especially after Matt zinged people for not knowing the difference between fingers and fried chicken recently - hard to justify. Whataburger isn't even an option for a lot of the south.
My sister works at mcdonald's as a drive through worker. I can confirm that she does see you while your ordering. So don't do anything embarrassing while ur there. She has some stories to tell ;)
I went through a drive through Starbucks one time and the guy commented on my beard totally threw me off that he could see me......then he turn the screen into a tv so he could show me his beard lol I try to remember not to pick my nose at the drive through
@@homesteadorbust Thng is, they can see everyone plus licence plates here in the UK. They have number plate/licence plate recognition software for the badduns.
I get the Cajun Filet Biscuit just a few times a year, because I don't want my cardiologist to have a coronary (much less myself!). Bo-tato rounds are great for breakfast, but I usually hit Bo's for supper, so I get the dirty rice instead, just to thumb my nose at the heart doc just a tad more.
@@lynnwalker-cmar I have while living in Texas and Oklahoma. It’s good for sure but doesn’t beat Bojangles. But maybe I’m bias being from NC and loving some bojangles
@@janiceharris5475 No need for shouting. They had me at Bisquitville. Never heard of them, but based solely on the name, I will make a point to try them out when I can. I'll add them to my bucket list with pie town. :-)
Omg I can’t believe I didn’t think of that! The jalapeño cheddar biscuit with sausage is amazing too. You can also ask for the chicken sandwich patty instead of the chicken tender.
Agreed. Every CFA biscuit I ever had was undercooked and doughy. Bo is only place I will order a chicken biscuit from, I'm just wondering where he was that he got thru the drive thru in 51 secs. 6 Bojangles within 10 miles of me and every one always has drive thru backed out into the street during breakfast hours.
I think it’s important to specify where you started your wait time because if it was started as soon as you got in line regardless of how many people were in front of you or if you started it when you started your order or if it was from the second window to when you got your food
At our local Wendy’s, drive through is empty and the breakfast chicken biscuit is amazing. You just might not have the best location near you. But on the opposite side, the Hardee’s near me is amazing but is slam packed from 5-9 AM.
Thankfully, my Chick-fil-A does a phenomenal job on their food! As far as driving while eating- Matt you KNOW its all about the biscut/burger pre-road wrap! That sucker has to be perfectly cradled in the wrapper before you leave the parking lot! Otherwise, this was an excellent episode! I love y'all for all that you do, sharing our wonderful southern culture! ❤
The wrap is key. Our local restaurant that dominates the biscuit scene actually uses scrambled eggs on a huge biscuit made by the owner's mama. So your wrap has to be on-point if you are going to eat and drive. Worth it. They do fried spam and fried bologna biscuits too.
To answer the drive-thru visibility question, it depends. If you're at a location w/2+ lanes, there's prob a camera on each one, so it's closer. Otherwise it's prob on the main building. Mostly we're just looking at the vehicle, not you. Folks pull out of line & throw the order sequence off, or pull up wonky & don't drive over the sensor so we wouldn't know they're there. Unless you're already being extra weird for us to really care, we're too busy tryna hustle that 51 sec timer to be actively watching ya. Be more worried about the audio. When you say "hold on," we're still listening so we hear it when you're ready to start ordering. The drama & tea in the conversations in between gets wild y'all
If you can get in and out of a Bojangles in 51 seconds where I live, it's because a fire started as you walked in and you did a 180. It's so popular around here, especially for breakfast, that the drive thru line usually wraps around the entire building and the inside stays packed.
I find that he usually places mcdonalds where wendy's belongs and vice versa I make it a note to tell people I don't refer to mcdonalds as mcdonalds in casual conversation. in a casual conversation with someone I know I call mcdonalds ghetto wendy's because that's what they are. The one and only thing mcdonalds does well is their coke
Wendys breakfast makes you feel bloated, as though you have swallowed pounds of butter and grease. The biscuits and gravy tastes great but will leave you sluggish and feeling as though it clogged your arteries.
Every time I go home, as soon as I get into Winston Salem I hit Bojangles. (The one on University Parkway just off US52) Not for the chicken biscuit but for the country ham biscuit and a large tea. I usually get a half gallon of tea, a couple of chicken biscuits, and a couple ham biscuits on the return trip back. I get hungry on those 12 hour road trips.
One of the things I've had a hankering for a long time for is the Country Ham biscuit from Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen in Chapel Hill. That place is THE motivator for getting up early.
Brother, you need to call up your Chick-fil-A and have a prayer meeting. Cause the ones here in Texas seem to be more highly blessed than the one near you. The chicken is always amazing and the biscuits, while not the greatest, are still moist and flavorful. Then you drop some honey roasted BBQ sauce on them and it is a Sunday Worship service.
Though I have never had a Chick-fil-A biscuit I can tell you nothing (other then the chicken sandwich) beats their chicken minis they are just Gods kiss to us.
The minis are much better than their biscuits. The biscuit is super dry and crumbly and the chicken piece is tiny. I don't get the love for chick fila breakfast
One qualification on wait time: How many cars were in line? Our local Chick-Fil-A's blast through twenty cars in minutes, and there's usually twenty cars in their drive thru at any given time. They've got service down pat. If they only had one or two cars like most places they'd have your order in your hands before you ordered it.
@@amandasaint8513 No argument from me. I'd do the same. But for this test they weren't running late. (Listen, it's a moot point, and I'm only half serious, having a little fun.)
My local one isn't fast for either drive-through or walk-in service, but they rarely mess up my orders and they are almost always cooked to perfection. I'll wait a bit longer for food done right!
Living in Oregon now, I really miss Bojangles...even though I never ate their chicken. Their sausage, egg, and cheese and bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits were top notch...and they served them all day.
Maaaan we love southern breakfast! We're from Germany but we've been in the US before about 3 times in South Carolina and we were absolutely loving gravy and biscuits. Now we live in Virginia since March but we miss southern breakfast. We can only find a few or do our own... Best breakfast ever ❤️
CFA has the best fried chicken filets for fast food, I'll give them that. But their biscuits are horrendous and I don't understand how they still use them. The best fast food biscuit is Hardees and Bojangles.
Actually, I am super impressed with Wendy’s new sausage, egg, and Swiss on a croissant. I think it even has hollandaise sauce on it. And their potato wedges? The seasoning is outstanding. Those should be served all day, honestly.
@@MrsAlmaTrumble I'm sucker for the Frostingo they have and those you can get all days. cold brew coffee with vanilla or chocolate frosty mix shaken poured over ice... forget starbucks!
@@charlottethomas4748 Right!! I literally have hated chicken biscuits from anywhere my entire life except from Chick-fil-A!! Speaking of which I need to get some for breakfast tomorrow! Thanks for commenting and reminding me! 😂😂😂
At 3 o'clock when everyone is at Waffle House trying to sober up, Whataburger still doesn't have time to fix their chicken biscuits, because there's about ten cars in the drive thru.
I've got this local biscuit place called The Biscuit Company, and their chicken biscuits are easily the best, because they give you a whole chicken breast on that biscuit, and the biscuit itself is about as big around as a catalope.
Bojangles, at the time this video was made our breakfast chicken was hand breaded, biscuits are always hand made, and our drivethru always stays below 3:00 on a weekend.
Great video and great observations of each biscuit. Here, I enjoy the heck out of Chick-Fil-A biscuits. Wendy's honey butter chicken biscuit is normally my second favorite. I can agree with Hardee's in 3rd place. I can also agree with Jack's in 4th place. The cajun chicken biscuit is the only biscuit I HAVEN'T tried yet at Bojangles. (those Hash Browns are ADDICTING though) Unfortunately, they have not put in a Whataburger where I live (GA) yet and were dying to get one. And McDonald's always disappoints (to the surprise of no one).
Matt needs a tinted outside window that hangs halfway down from the top of his driver side window frame. When the main window rolls down out of the way, the outer half-window could still hide his face from the drive-through spy cameras. I think that's kinda how the Lamborghini Countach's windows worked.
There is not a Jack’s around me in Mississippi. The logo is very similar to Jack in the Box. Both have the word Jack or Jack’s written in white on a red background. That’s pretty confusing so I think Matt should’ve mentioned that. I really thought he was just referring to Jack in the Box and had no idea it was an unrelated restaurant
I agree with you, Matt. Chikfila biscuits are drier than the desert Jesus walked in. Worst thing on their menu. When someone brings me a chickfila chicken biscuit, I just eat the chicken.
Here what you do... If you can separate the biscuits from the chicken just a bit, slide some butter in there, wrap them back up and nuke them for 10 seconds... moistened them right up. I know a guy that injects melted honey butter into the biscuits, then nukes them for a few seconds as well.
Whataburger does not exist (yet) in my part of Alabama, and Bojangles' has a location right down the road from me (less than 5 minutes drive), so yeah, they win. But I am intrigued that Matt thought Whatty was better with half the meat. Will be comparing as soon as Whata shows up here in Huntsvegasland.
@@W.A.R.R. not really, whataburger does just slap a plain peace of chicken on the biscuits. They season it also, just because you can taste Bojangles seasoning better does make it an extra ingredient.
"Maybe not this weird black speck here" LMAO I began my foray into chicken biscuits with the Speedway chicken and cheese biscuit, and currently entrust Chik-Fila's spicy chicken biscuit with my 1st place ribbon.
I could disagree with the ranking- I love a good Chick-fil-A biscuit, but I haven’t had all of those restaurants. Chick-fil-A and McDonald’s make the best biscuits!
