Great breakdown! I know I'm personally never going to buy any of the Western Front DLCs as long as they don't include any maps. The divisions look awesome, but I'm too much of a history autist to play Western Front divisions on Eastern Front maps. Lol. A Normandy or Italy AG campaign would also be dope. I'll just keep playing SD: 44 for my Western Front SD fix for now. I still enjoy it.
I got the back to war pack, because I wanted a little bit of everything. Some Brits, some Canadians, etc. Easy variety pack addon. I got Nemesis as well, they were a few dollars, so got all of em. I got all the dlc I wanted during the sale they did.
Man i wish they would make a dlc or something that added all the steel divison normandy 44 had. There are a lot of cool divison in there after all. Especially some of the dlc divisons, while not the strongast, where fun and unique
That would be super cool. I think the fundamental issue is a) balance. They may not have been able to get those divisions to fit b) the divisions may not have gone over well with the income system change
@@atkpwrgaming Honestly i´d want them in the game even if the lot of them would have been trash from a balance point of view (or super for that matter) i personaly really only play with people i know and when we do its generly not something we take super seriously so for me and my friend group balance really is secondary to choice. Hell we deliberatly play the lowest ranked battlegroups just to mess around and experiment. And really i´d like to see that french resistance divison from normandy be ported over it was so fun to play. They did kinda do the same with wargame as well, all the nations from airland battle is in red dragon after all (to my knowledge) though i guess they didn´t change as much between airland-red dragon and normandy-steel divison 2
very helpful! Def picking up Tribute to DDay and Lib of Italy when they go on sale. Really want to play the romanians, but not sure if I can justify the history pass on top of the other two. Also, I've played around with the divisions from Back to War, and I really like the Panzer Lehr. Panther D's are great, and you get some really good armored cars, and your main inf come with full panzershrecks! Been having a lot of fun with it, why is it considered bad? Just curious.
Florian is correct. It’s not a matter of the division being bad, it is just not suited for grindfests and can be a bit inflexible. It lacks cheap spammable options and while half tracks are nice when optional, they are crippling when forced. You will always be beaten to every front and it take a long time for your reinforcements to reach combat areas. It’s a fun Div, especially with infinite panzershrecks, but it just doesn’t hold up well in practice
@@atkpwrgaming - I am Romanian, but what to say, they have good divisions in this dlc. I think,2 armored division, whas created for conflict against Romania. Thansilvania whas under they control from hundred years, but 80%from population especialy peasants whas Romanians and treated as slave. Dont have permited to talk in there language,to have buildings from stone, etc, only lumber,to not have colored clothes, only white, etc. And because that, all time Romania whas in conflict with Hungary,+after Ribentrop-Molotov pact,Hungaryan army massacrated Romanian vilages population from Ip,Trăznea, etc. So..we dont whas friends. And Romania have some good divisions,9 infantry fighted in city Carei, maybe we have a city map,Tudor Vlafimirescu Division(formed by former pow from Stalingrad),but with doviet equipments,i hope on Paratroopers, etc. I think we will have and dome historic mission as Oarba de Mureș,battle of Păuliș,etc.
Here is a link abbaut Oarba de Mureș battle, only you must activate English sub. This battle is part of Turda campaign and i think and hope to be a historic mission.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-reuCl0Szfgw.html
I posted this on your video about the 10 best beginner divisions and though it maybe could be helpful here: I put in the effort to link the Divisions to the DLCs (if applicable). Maybe this is helpful for new(er) players to consider which DLC to buy. 84th Stelky -> Base game 8th Indian -> Tribute to the Liberation of Italy DLC Gruppa Fedyunkina -> Burning Baltics DLC 26th Panzer -> Tribute to the Liberation of Italy DLC 20th Panzer -> Base game 715th Infanterie -> Men of Steel 2nd Indianhead -> Tribute to D-Day DLC 26th Strelky -> Base game 17th SS -> Tribute to D-Day DLC 4th Fallschirmjäger -> Tribute to the Liberation of Italy DLC
If you want to have the best aircraft you need the tribute to Italy dlc. G55 is love G55 is life. Also how far have we come that 3rd OP is only called ok. XD Back to war you also still get for free when buying sdn44 and you can get sdn44 really cheap nowadays.
which one is that? Is it "steel division 2 - history pass"? or do I have to get "steel division 2 (drvar available on the game thumbnail) + sd2 history pass? I'm looking at the steam store right now. sd2 drvar on thumbnail is 9,99 and sd2 hp is 9,79. sale lasts until jan 5th and I hope and kindly ask for the right way to go :) Thank you so much! Note: I did read the description as careful as I could and it seems to me that sd2 +sd2 hp is the way to go for biggest bang on the buck regarding singleplayer :)
@@ivanescualexandru1196 Then the history pass is good for you, too :) The 3 major DLC included all have the Army General campaign. The fourth (and not included) DLC with Army General is Burning Baltics. A fifth is in the makings. If you only want to play campaigns, you dont need the Nemesis DLC or Tribute to the Liberation of Italy etc.
I was thinking about buying all of them, but a couple of weeks ago they raised the prices, so the little DLC costs what the entire game. No buying nothing now.
I would definitely try waiting for a sale. They are quite fun and variety continues to make the game more engaging. They are worth it if you like the game, though I’ll be the first to admit they are very expensive
When i first bought the game, i was waiting for a sale, because we all gotta be honest, a lot of the content is overpriced.. and as much as i love SD2, i can hardly recommend anyone to buy any DLC full-priced. I hardly agree with most of the reviews tho, i don't think most of the dlc are worth mixed and pretty bad reviews, most of them are pretty good imo.. One point i would like to mention is that when the game is for sale during steam sale, those prices are going nuts ; and that's exactly when i bought the game back in the day.. For a new player i HARDLY recommend to : wait for a steam sale, get the SD2 pack which include the History Pass DLC which give access to 3 DLCs that give a lot of content, then if you really love the game may be consider buying more DLCs but if it's just another game for you may be it's not worth it. For those who enjoy the game after playing it for a while, knowing pretty much everything there is to know, well then take on sale whatever you would like... watch out, sometimes SD Normandy is at a lower price than the DLC which is free if you have the Normandy game so yeah you can save a couple of dollars here. I loved the Burning Baltics DLC because it's the one which offers the best content/price ratio. And the divisions are pretty powerful. Nemesis DLCs are okay i guess, but once again may be for sale it's gonna be a better investment. Just like you, i bought every one of the DLCs the game has to offer (except the commander deluxe thing) and i dont regret anything.. i played hundreds of hours just because i love selecting randomly my division and enemy AI division, its really a challenge sometimes. Anyway, way too long message sorry, hope it would help someone who is reluctant about buying overpriced DLCs.. Keep up the good content, it's nice to see someone give advices / tactics / explanations for beginners about how to use the full potentiel of this game, there's definetely a lot to learn at first.
Thanks for the support and input! DLCs are always a tough topic. Yes they are expensive, no they are rarely worth what they cost (for any game), and yes I own them all and don't regret it haha but I love the game, not much else to say
They haven't really cut content. And I am not arguing that is expensive, but its a smaller studio and its a business. And people are obviously willing to pay. I wish it was cheaper of course, but there is the reality that they have to make money or there will be no game at all.
