I love this video. The portion on Flexibility is gold. I'm wondering which would you use for infill? Would you use the same gel you used for your overlay for an infill or do you have to go with something less flexible? Great video.

It depends how the client has got on with their initial application. If they have no problems and the nails have lasted really well, then I would stick with the same gel. I would only change it if they had any issues with lifting or breaking and if I felt they would suit a harder or more flexible gel.

I love the viscosity of 1 Step however when I was using it lots of my clients where having braking issues with it. It just didn’t seem “strong” enough. I use cool gel all the time and don’t ever have those issues 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ty, so much on the info about using Builder as a base for issues of lifting. I narrowed down the lifting issue of one client who wears non-latex gloves at work for hours. She sweats underneath the gloves. I suggested that she waer cotton gloves to soak in the sweat and to change the gloves often throughout the day. For her next fill, I will use the Builder Gel.

You're welcome, I'm glad it is helpful! Definitely try Airbond before your Tack (or Powerbond) if you haven't already as this is the perfect option for clammy hands like you've described
@juliejewels3945
@juliejewels3945 2 года назад
Ty, for responding to my comment. Would Airbond dry the nails? Would Powerbound help with lifting? Do I need to use Vita Prime, Tack then Powerbound or do I use Powerbound only before Builder?
@JojoWickens
@JojoWickens 2 года назад
@@juliejewels3945 Airbond is a temporary dehydrator which means the product can get a better adhesion, and therefore be more resistant to the moisture during wear. Powerbond is more suited to very hard, rigid nails, it's not for everyone. You would use it in place of Tack. It's either Airbond or VitaPrime, and then Tack or Powerbond. hth

Hi Jojo This video it Fantastic! When I started, I was SOOO confused with all the gel, but the best thing is try them all and see how they work! I have a client who has flat, wide nails with wavy or bent free edges. I use extreme gel and sometimes she will lose one of her nail it just pops off. I do a good prep, but it seems to happen each time she gets a fill. Would you recommend a different gel?
@mhanshaw165
@mhanshaw165 3 года назад
What would you recommend for using with gel nail full tips? Such as Apres type tips? I need a HEMA free option.
@MzClementine
@MzClementine Год назад
Hello @M Hanshaw The tach bonder and or air bonder. The air bonder is used and more humid climates. Such as Georgia South Carolina Florida Texas heat. The tach bonder is also wonderful. I too need a hema-free product. Young nails protein bond is not hema-free. I don't have problems with their gel butt. I need adhesion underneath it. Those two products are wonderful. The cool, seems stronger and more flexible... If you're using tips, you don't need the fiberglass.. The tac bonder has acetone in it. So you can use it for your gel and or on top of your acrylic to apply gel. It's like double sticky tape. Please I warn you. If doing your own nails. Do one nail at a time. Trust me.. The cool building gel from what I read in comments. Women that are using this on their clients. The cool gels seems to be more flexible, less broken nails... I hope this helps you. I know it can be so confusing. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OJKYmHoUF5s.html I really like her explanations. Very thorough. I too have problems with Hema. I wish these people would do more advertising. And I want something done in our industry. In my state. There is no licensing for gel. If I take the course, I have to use the terrible crap acrylic and get my license that way. We need change in the industry. All of the toxic products that were forced to get, China. I'm sick of this. These individuals need to build a school state by state by state by state. We shouldn't have to use toxic chemicals to license ourselves.

Hi Jojo, thanks for explaining the Gels and temperature use for Cool Gel. I remember reading about this system and about the scientist Jim McConnell being involved due to care of nail plate. I believe they are hema free. Is this right? I messaged on insta. I'm really looking for a system for overlays and soak off and also builder soak off. Could you recommend or advise me. I'd love to try them. Ty and hope to hear from you. I currently use a very popular system but I'm keen to use a hema base for all of my clients now to prevent allergies. Thanks again, Caireen x
@JojoWickens
@JojoWickens 3 года назад
Everything from LE is hema free, plus they never use ingredients which are high allergens. I first discovered LE 5 years ago for this very reason, I became allergic to most gels brands and all liquid monomers. LE is perfect if you are concerned with ingredients, they only use the very best in their products which they formulate and manufacture in their US HQ. I’ve been using them with absolutely no issues for 5 years now, and it transformed my business due to how well they last on the nails. All of the Lexy Line gels can be used for overlays, it’s your preference of viscosity, and for a soak off option they have JimmyGel builder. The Come On Over kit is a really great way to give the brand a try if you want to test out a few products before investing fully. But be warned, you’ll love it and their colour releases are addictive 😂

@@JojoWickens awe this sound terrific. I'll get my certification over to get started and give the JimmyGel system a try. The colours always appeared to have such a depth and vibrancy. I totally forgot about the system. It was around the same time as that I was watching but had no idea they had arrived in the UK. Thankful for having yourself as the contact too Jojo. Always appreciated your work too. Thanks again. Do I order through yourself on your instagram? Cx

No, none of the Light Elegance products contain HEMA or any other ingredients which are known to be highly allergenic. This is what lead me to the brand 5 years ago, because I became allergic to almost all gel products. Light Elegance was a game changer and I've used it ever since with no issues.
