I have to agree with you. Branston beans (formerly Crosse and Blackwell) are the best and great value at my local supermarket at 4 full-size tins for £1.50.

1. Try Bransons. Better than Heinz. 2. You should’ve blind tested these and got someone else to prepare the dishes. To prevent bias.

American living in the UK for the last decade. The history of Heinz Beans in the UK is interesting. Classified an "essential food" during WWII, US company Heinz found a massive place in the UK as a cheap staple food. Almost 80 years later, it's still a big part of the British diet. We don't eat them anywhere near as much as y'all, and it's an American brand and product.

Branston Beans are streets ahead of Heinz. That said, I'm not really sure how Heinz even qualify as 'Supermarket Baked Beans'.. you're stacking an international company against specific supermarket brands.

When I was in Ireland I was impressed by the baked beans I was served for breakfast. I asked the staff about them and I was told they're an Irish brand called Batchelors. Superb they were. I bought a load of them in a supermarket and brought them home to London.

Just like Tayto Crisps in the Republic of Ireland (founded 1954) and Tayto Crisps in Northern Ireland (founded 1956) are two completely separate brands with the same name. I've tried the Cheese & Onion flavour of both Tayto brands and they don't taste even the least bit similar.

I really don’t enjoy Heinz all that much, yeah they taste nicest but it’s soooo runny and I like my bean sauce thick, best I’ve tried is Asdas own brand lovely, thick creamy sauce. Worst is Morrisons brand. Lidl/aldi are ok for the price depending what you’re eating them with 💨

I agree with the others with regard to other baken bean manufacturers, perhaps you should do another video using Heinz as a marking point and compare the other against it. I do believe Branston has a good taste but not had them for a while myself. Branston are also more value for money but for some reason I always seem to pick up Heinz at the shop. Maybe habit.

i am here because Heinz 3 mid size tin pack has gone up by 35P inone jump ,now £2.20. Sorry , i am not tight but not gonna stand for that,tried Sainsbury tonight, not nice ,but 35p a tin,will try branston next or lidl. been using sains tomato ketchup over heoinz for ages,can taste no real difference,same with asda ketchup.

To make these types of beans the beans are soaked over night in water then mixed with the other ingredients (most commonly molasses, brown sugar and pork) When mixed they are placed in a bean pot or other dish and then baked in the oven or over a fire for a long time. My family recipe calls for an 8 hour bake.
