Well if he is a crust guy it’s not a problem because you can attack the bread crust and then eat super slowly the middle. That’s why a lot of people use butter
I'm Italian and our breakfasts are sweet so I can't really eat beans for breakfast, but this is just amazing! Hello to all the British friends 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
@Barry Harry It was actually invented during the war, it was easier to eat beans on toast since everyone was rationing shit. I swear people from this country hate it more than people outside it, you're weird asf.
@Barry Harry doubt it as tomatoes originated from South America. Then they made it Europe before going to Africa. It’s more likely to of come from Native Americans
Finally one of you did it right. 1. Actually toasted the bread. 2. Actually buttered the toast. 3. Heated the beans properly. And yeah, It's the combo of the textures. Many like cheese on it but I like it like this. I wouldn't complain about cheese but I like it like this, with maybe a bit extra salt and maybe pepper if I'm feeling frisky. Oh, and bacon is never out of the question in the Uk, though not standard.
As a British person this guy gets it, the way the butter and the beans go together is amazing I like mine with salt and pepper on it and a nice cup of tea afterwards, cheesey beans on toast is next level too
I literally just made mine the same way beans on toast.. the beans infused with salt & pepper and onceyou pour it onto the toast grate a shit load of cheese on there.. literally perfect to me
Cheesy beans on toast with eggs and ham recipe. ~~~~ Ingredients: 1 can of Heinz Beanz, heated in the microwave 4 pieces of buttered toast 1 semi thick slice of cooked ham 2 fried eggs 1 tomato slice fried 1/2 cup of grated cheddar cheese ~~~~ Directions: On a large plate, place the toast near the edge. Pour on the beans. Put the eggs on the toast cutting the eggs in half so each piece of toast has 1/2 an egg with the yolk running out. Put the cheese on top of the eggs. On the side put the tomato slice and ham. Enjoy!!
As a Brit all I can say is thanks for doing this correctly. Thick cut bread, Heinz Beanz and actually making sure the beans are hot. The only way to make this next level is add some grated cheddar on top 👌
Beans on toast is like a religion here in the UK and Ireland. I can say that you prepared it all perfectly. Looked really good. Sometimes the microwave can make the beans a bit watery, so I find cooking them down on the stove/hob gets them nice, thick and creamy 🤤
You're totally right, it works REALLY well with grated cheddar and a little bit of black pepper. I sometimes like to mix a little Tabasco or Frank's through the beans to give it a kick. If you melt the cheese onto the beans under the grill, we call that a Cheesy Beano.
I thoroughly enjoyed your enthusiasm for the humble beans on toast, my stiff upper lip gave a slight quiver and I could hear the opening verse of rule britannia in my ears. Seriously though it's such a go to norm here I forget that to others the concept of baked beans on toast is slightly bizarre, so it's interesting to see it through "fresh eyes". It is a staple, cheap filling and uncomplicated...you should definitely try it with cheese though, ideally mature cheddar with a dash of worcester sauce for extra culinary pizzazz :)
I remember eating beans on toast for the first time, I loved it. It's really like eating bread and butter for the first time, such a simple dish yet so good
Welp . . . This is the first video I've seen of yours, and I'm late to the party, but I love the way you eat! Thanks for enlightening me on this English classic!
We eat it here in Australia also, its quite common and also the spaghetti in a can as well. We toast the bread, butter it and heat the beans up, put it on the toast and add shredded cheese on top. Deelish!
@@vanivor BINGO! You have no idea how many Aussies are confused at why they do the same things as the British...(minus black pudding and a few other things) but VERY similar yes! Grew up half my life in Britain, half in OZ....Same shit different climates
@@vanivor They are like Hey! we have that shit over HERE in Australia TOO! like they are fucking amazed lol!...Like Australia Invented any kinda snack except arnotts lol.....I tell 'em Look at who is on the back of your coins!!..Who do u think that is?
Okay as a British man, 1. That bread looks gooooooood 👍🏽. 2. Solid Bean choice 3. Melt some butter in the beans. 4.grate some strong cheddar cheese on top of the hot beans and let it melt in. Straight Fire
Beans on toast is amazing! I like cumin and pepper in mine cooked in a little butter. Also with fried egg and loads of cheese makes a yummy breakfast. You did well with the extra butter on toast, very authentic lol
But that's not the way I do my beans on toast Sadiq mate. That's not toast - it's too thick semi toasted bread and I always put the beans BY the toast or it just goes all soggy. Yuk. Cheese on top? That's an acceptable option. With maybe a splash of Lea & Perrins. Mmmmmmmm
That looks so delicious Ben. We usually have beans and weiners on toast WITH butter on the bread!! YUM!! It's 10:30 at night where I live here in Canada and my mouth is watering!!!
I'm Swedish and have lived in the U.K for 8 years. t took me about 4 years before I tried this, and now I can't get enough! You're making me hungry haha
I know this is very simple but i love this video a lot!! I’ve always been interested in making the dish but even though it’s so simple I’ve never tried it 😂 So it’ a relief I can watch you cook and eat it ❤️
You took the cheese thought right out of my head at the same you mentioned it on the video. Lol Great food minds think alike. Much love from South Texas.
Thanks for bigging us British up! I feel soo happy your eating beans on toast. You really need to try an English breakfast. Yes eat it with cheese melted on top. 😋
Another simple staple is a crisp sandwich!! 2 slices of buttered white bread, dump a packet of cheese and onion flavour crisps (chips to the Americans. Maybe Lays cheese and onion flavour). Top with the other slice of buttered bread (butter side in just like a sandwich & use plenty of butter). Squish down and cut in 2 or 4 and enjoy. I LOVEEE crisp sandwiches, such a childhood favourite. I'm from Northern Ireland btw. 💖💖
Thanks for doing this vid! Just came across your channel. I just watched a vid on Ellen interviewing Helen mirin and she talked about how she loves the heinz baked beans with toast.
my family’s british… so while i’m in college in america where everything british is 1,000x more expensive (yes, heinz baked beans are in the european aisle), i still had to buy it. i like to top mine with shredded cheddar & HP brown sauce if i’m eating it as a lunch or dinner, but runny egg if i’m having it as a breakfast food 😋 yum
Our country, UK - would gladly adopt you Ben! Eaten with much gusto!! I feel like a proud father. Cheese on your beans, a fried egg or poached on your beans. Beans on a baked potato with cheese. Preferably, I add a chopped onion & cook the beans liw & slow so they soften, stew & the sauce becomes more intense & wonderful. Glad I found your vlog, looking to explore your others. Best wishes Ben - thank you for your most enthusiastic stamp of approval.
I like how you described it so elegantly, it almost made me forget it's beans on toast lol I think I would rather dunk the toast into the beans and eat those with a spoon. This just sounds like poor craftsmanship to me
Well we normally eat heinz beans for breakfast with either sausage/bacon, egg (scrambled, omlete, fried), fried mushrooms and fried tomatoes. With HP sauce.
@@Kt-cn2rq You can eat it at anytime preferably when you want to warm yourself up. www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2017/nov/24/how-to-eat-beans-on-toast
