@@JohnSesCommenting LMAO actually forgot about that. i wish there was a way to revert the game back to it’s previous patch so i could have recorded better footage
It was so nice to see Sakurai give him mad respect when introducing him in Smash Ultimate along with a whole damn historical tutorial to the bewilderment and disbelief of all the Smash stans who don't shower and had no idea who he was
I'm probably the only weirdo that's going to point this out, but KOF Maximum Impact Regulation A has probably the most complete version of Terry. Terry literally has EVERY special move from 94 to 2002 in that game (even the weird Burning Knuckle variations from KOF '99). He's considered Top 10 in most tier lists because of his many options. And for his KOF 2003-XI moves we have Wild Wolf (Garou Terry), who is ALSO top tier in MIRA lol
awesome retrospective on terry, really enjoyed it. there is something special about terry as a character that draws people in--the aesthetic is very cool, his move set is cool, his voice over lines were always cool too.
@@baberuthless yeah FEXL Terry is no joke he’s been the best since he’s came out LOL. Smash Terry appears to be midtier which is a shame. i remember the smash champion at the time of Terry’s release was from Mexico and he tried to make him work but couldn’t haha
@@TheLegendRomeTerry's generally considered a high tier, actually, although maybe on the low-high region. MKLeo never was someone to like the FGC characters and, afaik, he didn't grow up with KOF or FF much in the first place (he mainly goes for sword characters with stronger neutrals, although his own punish game is insane), with Riddles being the main Terry player, although he started using Kazuya more since he released (but he has been coming back to Terry more, both in terms of specific matchups and sometimes just going with him all tournament)
Been playing SF6 and not only is he absurdly easy to play, he’s got so many options. I’m fairly certain he’s top tier. This guy is my main in Smash. He taught me how to do quartercircles and DP and charge inputs. Gotta love my goat, glad he’s here :)
Loved how informative this video was! My first time seeing the tier list for the old Fatal fury games too, surprised to see mai so high in many of them, especially in the FF2 special, always though she felt a bit weak there
The garou one was super cool but stripped off version. Rising tackle was taken away from him. Others had 3 supers he had 2 only. The combo potential wasn't good until feint attacks were done. Amemori was ❤❤❤ tho
What a great and fun video to watch! It'd be cool if you made a video like this for other characters in SNK. Like which Kyo was the best or which Ryo was best! That'd be very interesting imo
I know it’s hard to find tournament footage for this. But, Terry for SNK vs. Capcom MOTM is no joke. He plays like EX ‘98 Terry, but the roster choice’s on both sides gives him much more favorable matchups compared to ‘98, CVS, and subsequent KOFs’. Plus, because of the NGP’s screen size, his long range pokes and anti-airs benefit from the smaller stage area.
I can't find much data for Fatal Fury 3 but Terry seems strong in that game. Hard to tell how practical the crack shoot infinite is without a lot of recordings of competent human players.
@@monadomoron4601 yeah there seems to be like no info on that game at all. i know it had a short turnover period since Real Bout came out a few months after
@@TheLegendRome Only a few months? No wonder RB reuses so much and feels so rushed in comparison. If it had more players I imagine that Terry would be the best in FF due to the easy infinite.
I didnt know that 97'' was so popular in China but it possibly explains why it was mine growing up in Vancouver. In Vancouver we have a big Chinese population and a lot of us are gamers and spent our youths at the arcade or places that had the cabinets like our local laundromats, convenience stores or hobby stores. At a point I think it was getting more popular than Street Fighter. (Third strike era). Terry is the GOAT of Fatal Fury but I honestly leaned towards Andy being my main. Like Andy I am the younger brother and I relate because he and I are quiet and stoic
One of my favorite versions of Terry is his XIII version. Buff as shit, the shadow over his eyes over from his cap, his fast active stance. I loved almost everything about that version of Terry. Sadly he had one issue, his damage was just not good enough.
13 is the weakest Terry for me ever, 14 may be below average but at least 14 Terry had the big a$$ damage, 13 Terry had nothing, he was a walking hurt box
Maximum Impact Reg A's Wild Wolf was top 5 due to being able to destroy guard bars so fast, easy combos in comparison to regular Terry, tech traps for people wanting to roll around with his Lost Power super, and stupid damage.
Fatal Cutie is the best ❤ Terry Bogard is my childhood hero and favorite character of all time, honestly I think SF6 Terry is probably the strongest simply because of his ultimates - mix of Hakkyokuseiken and busta wolf cannon 😂
Hands down the strongest Terry is in King of Fighters Maximum Impact Reg A, followed by MI2 and now probably SF6 and CotW. Also honorable note: Dominated Mind for the parry.
Fatal fury 3 has an infinite where Terry can combo with his crackshoot. I watched Desks video on more infinites and I was shocked. Hoping that I can play more SNK games.
Ff3 or kof 97 Terry. Ff3 cause of infinite. 97 because he's op and infinite. Just finished ff through it, no mention of ff3? He had the easiest infinite in the game and is strong even without it. Rbs should be an honorable mention.
Looking at that input for Joes super in that old game made my hands hurt great video rome! FEXL made Terry look dope as FUCK. When i saw him i was like JESUS CHRIST TERRY. Man got all kinds of gains, big meaty men slapping meat. Also KOF for girls Terry is the strongest
Personally, my favorite has to be Garou MOTW Terry. His movements were clean, close C attacks can lead to so many combos and the 3 hit power charge when opponents are cornered eventually leads to guard breakers that will eventually lead to his supers.
A lot of the young'uns today might not know but Kof 97 Terry Bogard has an infinite that is super easy to pull off. EDIT: Oh never mind, you mentioned it at 4:50! haha
