I was about to give up after checking the operating thermostat, fuse, flame sensor igniter, thermal cut-off, and high-limit thermostat for continuity. I still couldn't figure out why there was no flame from the igniter. But I followed your instructions, and it worked. Thank you!

After replacing all the sensors, heating element, and all new vent setup... it was still not drying well. Something told me the timer might be the issue as it seemed to heat occasionally at the beginning of the cycle but randomly. After 5 or 6 fully dry loads, I can say for sure now that this was the fix!! Thanks for the video! You definitely saved me some $$$!

It worked. I had to move through the cycles while it was running to get it to kick in. Thank you.

Great video! I did this and tested it with the heating element off and BOOM heat is back Then I attached the heating element back and the timer and no heat. Pull off both again, test and heat works, then attach to dryer again and they don’t work. Have no clue why and too many hours playing with it. I’ll sell it to someone who can fix it better for cheap and get a new one at this point

Thanks so much. This repair worked for me, kinda, only the automatic dry is working, not the timed dry, but I'm so happy I can now use the dryer. Hopefully, this will extend it a little bit, if not, we'll try replacing the entire unit.

Great tip. I'll try testing this out later today. We have a Kenmore that's near 30 years old. Over the past 5 years several parts have been replaced by me, including the heating element. Recently we noticed our timer keeps going, even after the unit stops, the timer keeps clicking away, and we have no heat. I suspect something inside the timer is broken. Thank you for showing us this walk through.

I cleaned the contacts and it didn't quite do the trick. They needed a little more force by adding a piece of tape to the mechanism and works great now.

I've bought 2nd hand dryers a lot, and they give years of loyal clothes drying. We bought a brand new set of Whirlpool washer and dryer and the dryer has already had this happen. I've checked every "culprit" with my multi meter, and everything has continuity. I've yet to check the timer switch, and it's really all thats left... I'll bet it's the issue.
@Jasonoid

The timer switch is the issue a lot of the times! It's worth checking into.

I don't know what the odds you'll see this, but do you have any idea why it would take a bunch of manipulation jiggling the timer switch to get the igniter to engage? If you're going towards the more dry section.we can get heat And the internals look okay but you have to get it just right to get the igniter to bring on heat

What tools do I need?
@Jasonoid
@Jasonoid 4 года назад
Just a screwdriver and hex bit to take everything apart. You'll need all the stuff seen in the video too. If you have some basic electrical experience you can fix it yourself.

Will this problem also stop the timer from moving even though the unit spins? Basically no heat and the timer won't move.
@Jasonoid
@Jasonoid 3 года назад
That's probably a broken timer, you can find replacements online for cheap. Just swap it out.
@TheKingchewy
