Here is a Link for the Temp Defrost Sensor- amzn.to/32NjkW7
Steamer- amzn.to/2UlaE7e
This unit was having cooling problems in the fresh food section. The freezer section temp is pretty good but not up top. On this particular model the defrost sensor was defective. It was reading 1.3k ohms when its was supposed to read 2.7k ohms at room temp.
This unit would only defrost half of the evaporator. Makes sense to replace the sensor because it wasn’t in defrost long enough. If the unit wont start in defrost it can be the sensor, heater or control board. Due to sensor being cheaper and you are not sure it is always better to start with the sensor first. If your heater is bad it should test around 30 ohms.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

Well you saved me from buying a new sensor, mine measured perfectly! Thank you for that. Now i dont know what's preventing the fridge from cooling enough though. The fan seems to be spinning as well, and the freezer works perfectly.

You can avoid the first step by taking the freezer door off by loosening the screws on the freezer door and taking the door completely off. Then you just need to lift out the freezer bins.

This is a super helpful video. I'm looking at this right now and there's an ice block covering all the wires and equipment to the right of the fan and above the coils. I wonder if it's just the thermistor or if there is something else causing that...

I find it more accurate to test the resistance value with the sensor in ice water. By the way I didn’t see you put the screws back into the sliders when you finished, better get back there!

Great video, thanks. My freezer was frosting up and the fan gave an audio indications so after several manual passive defrosts (unplug and wait overnight) I replaced the controller (about 15 mths back) and that solved the problem, for a while. About 3 mths back the freezer problem started again and now the freezer works but the fridge will not cool. I did the suggestions in this video, there was a lot of frost behind the panel and after defrosting passively I checked the defrost sensor and it checks out. What would you suggest I check next?

I have what looks like a very similar unit - WRF560SEYM04. I am having defrost problems. I used diagnostic mode and manually triggered the defrost heater. I smelled burning and once I took off the evaporator cover it looks like the heater has drooped and the ends have burned holes in the sides of the liner. I see very similar holes in your video. Are those holes supposed to be there? Looking at the video It looks like maybe they bring air in from the fridge section. The drooping heater looks similar to in this video. I can bend it back into shape, or should I replace it?

My fan isn't working in mine and it's not cooling up top. Any ideas where to look for the problem?

I would suggest to change the fan motor assembly kit which comes with thermostat, thermostim and sensors. If you don't want to call a technician and saving money.
