Yeah, I can't take her when she is being a disaster. Some people love it and find it cute, my OCD meter just pings and it stresses me to watch her be the "cute clutz". But her pallet and whiskey knowledge has gone through the roof. She is a smart lady and I enjoy her notes, but when they "cast" her into this silliness I just can't take it.

I lived in that same area for over a decade and all the locals I knew had a clear bias since it was the "Texas ice cream". Not saying it is not good, just that if you tried several or made you own you would find it is not all that other than it being local.

in America, we call it a "brave bull" and it's tequila and coffee liqueur. One of my favourites I learned in SW America is adding a habanero chile to it...which I was told was called "desayuno de Sonora" So I would also add, for historical context of the Alamo, Irish whiskey Tequila (or Tanteo Jalapeno) with a coffee liqueur, (like Tia Maria) together in a rocks glass. Plenty of irish descendants down there in American SouthWest who need to learn.

You guys should make a cocktail version of Khatta Meetha Pani ("sweet and sour water") that's used to make Pani Puri (the most popular Indian snack). I find it more tangy than sweet - it has a wonderful tang to it from the tamarind.

Gotta admit, I never really wondered why drinks associated with Saint Patrick’s Day (at least in the US) are so heavily sugared and sweet and frilly. The only drink I’ve had that was coined as “Irish approved” by an Irish pal of mine was Irish coffee. No frills, no whistles, not overly sweet, just brewed coffee, whiskey, and cream.
